Virtual Activism: Make the calls, but post...post...post...on their Facebook!

We have launched a campaign here in Indiana to comment on all of our elected official's Facebook pages. Just recently, Senator Bayh (D-Indiana) has been getting bombarded by our responses that he's called upon his activists to post in support to Cap'n'Trade & National Health Care bills. I ask for you to write concise comments and copy and paste them into their pages. Also, write a rebuttal comment and every time someone posts a message in support for one of these bills, go in there and copy and paste your rebuttal in the comment section under the user. They will receive the response and thus, you may have an opportunity to educate another person about our concerns. I know it's working because a few of them are attacking me and they wouldn't do that unless they felt threatened. Also...if anyone has a well written response they'd like to add here, please comment to this blog here and offer us your suggestions.

Here is my comment on the Clean Air Act "Cap'n'Trade"

It looks like Evan Bayh is getting concerned that great percentage of the people are aware that we are being manipulated by hysteria of Global Warming and claims that we need universal health care. The very fact that people are asking for bills that they have never read is insulting. The fact that 30,000 scientists are now suing Al Gore because he won't debate the issue of Global Warming is perplexing. The fact that our nation is so broke that to even think that we can raise taxes for National Health care is sickening.

This is kinda fun!

Went to the contact page for the senator in WYO who is MIA (Enzi), and left the following remark. Do you think I'm gonna see some jack-boots marching into my store...LOL.

I have contacted you before in regards to S. 604 I received no response, not even the generic 'I support the spirit, but don't know what will come out of committee'. That is the response I got when talking to your staffer more than a month ago. However, senator Barrasso replied to my inquiry the very next day, and co-sponsored within a week! Cynthia didn't even need to be contacted, she signed on waaay back in March. Exhausting my private options, I have gone public. Please check your facebook wall. Thank you.

In pursuit of Accountability,

Sick'em! :)

Sick'em! :)

Great Idea!

so I did it. Our last congress-critter, Enzi, that hasn't signed on for the Equality State, has this sitting on his wall now:

It is time to support accountability! Co-sponsor S. 604!!! Our freshman representative, Cynthia Lummis signed on waaay back in March. Praise to Cynthia! Our junior senator, John Barrasso, has also signed on. Praise to John! But have you been in DC too long? Please show the world that you haven't lost touch with the common man. Show us all that you aren't in bed with the bankers. Show us you support accountability. Show the taxpayers the money!!

So I'm going back in (facebook) now. I'm going to put nice things on the walls of our rep and senator who DO support accountability...

Way to go! This info needs

Way to go! This info needs to be spread to all activists so we can organize and make this happen!

That's good info. We should

That's good info. We should all be doing this as well.

I'm finding that the millions of phone calls I have been making are not going to be as fruitful as written responses on their Facebook pages. The fact is, the public doesn't really know how many people are calling our public servants, but if we have it in writing, the cannot ignore the information before them and it will only enhance the debate!
