who worked both in 911 systems and in the oil/gas offshore industry for 8 years.

During that time I sensed a kinship of sorts with officers I encountered during the working day. Having family members with local and federal law enforcement experience gave me an appreciation for the profession.

However all that was years ago. What I've come to witness as an ordinary citizen since is this; the law enforcement community has becoming so arrorgant in power, so withdrawn from interaction with the public, and so focused on compensation, in some cases they behave like a taxpayer funded gang.

Where has professionalism, duty to serve, and accountability gone?

Edit: I worked 911 in Dr. Paul's congressional district, Galveston Co. (Paramedic Plus, one of the best EMS organizations I ever had the pleasure to associate myself with. It has since been absorbed by a corporation)

i'm sure he will get a promotion when he returns. just the type of dumbed down, flouride drinking, steriod pill popping lunatic the elite are looking for. I can't believe they gave him five whole days and didn't promote him straight away!
