My suggestion

I suggest that we start a weekly news paper.."The Constitutionalist Weekly" or.. "The Freedom Press." something national that everyone can read. ....obviously it would need some upfront money, and quite a few volunteers to distribute.

i suggest that they be put in normal newspaper bins, and even sold on street corners for 25cents a piece. People need to get educated. Obviously were not getting any help from the main stream media.

Im more than willing to do editing, but others would need to submit the articles. the whole point would be to keep american citizens enformed on issues that affect THEIR civil liberties. I think it would catch on quite well, and at 25 cents a peice and a a few politicians paying to advertise, i believe it would be self sustaining..

my print method would be to have a group of newpaper companies/presses throughout the region, (that share our ideology) that would run off copies of the layout, emailed to them. (for a fee obviously) im going to talk to my local paper to see if they will support it, and have the capability to do it.

anyone else want to get one board? i think it's the only way.

Lest it return to the dust whence it came.
Therefore the soul deceives and despises."

would be a good one for this.

Now who can get me one of these power packed, "sheeple" oriented newspapers? i live in a military town and im sure that it would be a hit. i will also include links to daily paul, campaign for liberty, constitution party, and a few others that people advise me on. ill cover the printing cost this time around, and ill put it on thick paper, so people dont just wad it up and throw it away.

As much as this is........

Old hat, it is still a very effective technique to wake up those around you.

For starters and / or a test run, you don't need to have a full-blowen newspaper. Just come up with the most intreging-short-power packed articles you can, can be just a few pages.

A couple of additional techniques to consider are:

1) Target the upper class residential area. (Their normally the ones with the power and time to be able to do anything).

2) Network the idea with other like like minds. See if they can contribute to getting an article, printing and distributing............

3) There ya go.

Re: As much as this is........

If ya really want to have any effect, this cannot be just a one time thing. You MUST repeat at least once or twice a month for a while. If you want feed back you have to also include some contact info.

Remember, it is important to target the same areas everytime, so they recognize it's your stuff.

Got any ideas for a name yet?

"The Freedom Press" kinda

"The Freedom Press"

kinda says it all.... lol

Great idea...

...But we sort of already have that here on the Daily Paul, Lew Rockwell, etc..Besides, people who read newspaper will all have glaucoma in three years.

Re: Great idea............

While this is true most people are still sheelpe. Their minds are still in the box and they still need to be exposed to the light of truth to set their minds free.

Point is the people don't know about those sites, to tune in to them. In order to possibly get them to go there, you might try to take one of the most power packed "short" articles you can find print it out and include the websites you are referring to with it.

Get a team of RP meetup people or anybody who wants to help out and deliver from door to door.

P.S. Don't forget to get permission to reprint.

bump for good ideas

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul

Have you seen this?

They already have a newspaper called the Ron Paul NewsPaper. Might get in touch with them and get some ideas or just get their paper? Maybe they can work with you, or sell you the existing paper?

Anywayz, try it and see what happens...............

the problem with that is

the problem with that is that when people see a politicians name, they immediatly assume propaganda. a much better approach ( in my opinion) is to have a general title and then and endorsement by SEVERAL canidiates, not just ron paul.

Been tried many times...but it's still a great ( valid ) idea..

if profit is not the primary motive. Check out these newspapers ( if they still exist ) as they were the pioneers in alternative newspapers.

The Fifth Estate
The Berkley Barb

Discover Costa Rica

Discover Costa Rica

profit is a secondary

profit is a secondary motive, and only to cover the expenses created by the venture. if more money is made, then great. thats just more to go to ron's campaign :)

there's

there's empty newspaper boxes all over the city.

writing isn't hard

most of the time you are just reporting other people's thoughts. since there is plenty of that available then we would never run out of material. there's something about physically holding something that makes it work.

the idea to hand out dvds is a good one, too.

i like the DVD idea, but it

i like the DVD idea, but it is just TOO expensive, and if its any longer than 30 minutes people will get bored. there for, in order for the production team to get their moneys worth, they would need to use every megabyte availible, unfortunatly people just dont want to sit for 2 hours listening to politics lol...(other than us) :)

I like it

this would be very easy to do as an individual also. Just start your paper on regular paper, ask for good articles to print in it right here from dailypaul. Trust me, ask and you will recieve plenty of material from here. Mass copy it, leave little square blank boxes on the right and left sides of the articles, and print in the little boxes, advertise here $5 a week. Go down to your local convenience store, and ask the owner if you can rent out a little space in his/her store for $10 a week, newspapers don't return much more that that, make it free at first, and woo lah, you have a newspaper. Just make sure you do not publish any copyrighted material, and find out what kind of liscensing you need to eventually become legit. I would not worry about the licensing until you start to get big. As you expand, just hit one more convenience store at a time to put them in, and maybe some bars, etc. Give it a shot, it could be a great opportunity!!!!

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

i think im gonna try it, but

i think im gonna try it, but as i said, my eventual goal is to be lined up beside all the usa today, and local paper boxes.

all these magazines are good

all these magazines are good and all, but theres not just a simple news paper format paper for sale across the country.

the reason i say newspapers is becuase they are cheap to make and cheap to sell. alot more people will buy and read them if they are cheap.

In the 80's we had newspapers and gave out cassettes

Now we have websites and DVDs.
They reach way more people. Start a website or promote one. Newspapers, by the way, are not cheap to make and distribute.

how many people do you know

how many people do you know that spend their time on the net surfing political sites? i know a few, but id say only a small percentage of the people i know.

thats the other reason for news papers. if something is written online, people tend to not believe it, or forget about it. but if you put it in a news paper, something tangible that they can hold in their hand.. especially something that is nationwide, then people start to see the truth and beleive it.

I'm going to make a couple guesses, tell me if I'm wrong:

1) You're under 25
2) You just "woke up" in the past year
3) You've never organized anything on a national level

I'm not being mean or rude or fighty. I just want to help you use your talents constructively. I've been at this for over 20 years and have real accomplishments in my pocket. I've also seen the "we need a newspaper" idea try and fail no less than 50 times.

fortunatly, im very patient,

fortunatly, im very patient, in my young years, and those 50 trys probably didnt have a proper plan or the financial support, or the motivated people that would absoulutely be nessecary to the cause.

i didnt "wake up" in the past year, ive thought government laws are bs every since some prick with a badge told me it was illegal to smoke ganja! haha. ITS MY BODY AZZ WIPE!!!! lol.

I believe there

are a few publications out there. When I went to the big get together with Ron Paul there were newspapers but I can't remember their names. I like the idea of local papers. I bet some young people with great writing skills could sell them. Do you get Republic magazine it is awesome. Bump for a good idea.

what we need is something

what we need is something national. not just small locally circulated papers. so california knows whats going on in carolina and vise versa. 1 paper for ALL the people, so we can all get on the same page ( forgive the pun) :) anyways, if we can get one solid idea from a multitude of people, we can push this country in another direction. but until all are informed, there will be no concensus among the public.

btw...what better way to get

btw...what better way to get propaganda out there about the candidates that SHOULD be in office?
