We need a thumbs up, thumbs down function on this site
Submitted by Shishio on Sun, 07/26/2009 - 22:32
Similar to Facebook. A function that also attaches a name to each vote of up or down, that way we can see who likes what topics and who does not. It will allow us to quickly see which posts are BS and who are the biggest BS'ers here. It would quickly show who are the trolls and who are not. Even if they change their screen names, they would quickly expose themselves.
Give me a thumbs up or a thumbs down on this. Lets clean up this site and clean up the trash, before the trash cleans out all the good people here.

Agreed

Thumbs up, thumbs
Thumbs up, thumbs down...it's too binary and shows little thought. How about the old-fashioned way? Write a comment, why don't you? I would rather read a well-reasoned, well-written comment than see the number of thumbs each post gets.
I don't have a lot of respect for Facebook, frankly. Michael once posted that Facebook might be a front for the CIA:

And for the nonbelievers, I posted something about a secret GSA agreement with Facebook and other social networking sites:

BTW do you really want us to imitate a site with quizzes like "Which Crazy B**ch are You" and "Which TV Mom are You?" (I am Sinead O'Connor and June Cleaver).
Keep the DP the brainy place it is, thanks very much :)

No, just don't bump them.
The biggest problem with this site is the the drupal theme it is using.
It's more for a personal blog and limits the scope of stories that get coverage.
The blog posts on the bottom should be eliminated and the space used for more 'conspiracy' type stuff, ie chem trails, 9/11, etc. The main page should also have the two sections divided.
So for instance you get the basic Ron Paul stuff on the top and just below you get the top 'fringe'/non MSM story like Lou Dobbs and Obama's BC.
The reason why is because many fringe stories are important and shouldn't be lost, but at the same time they shouldn't just be mixed up with politics/Ron Paul.
The problem is someone needs to dig up a drupal theme that's better and present it to Nystrom (or perhaps build one).

Thumbs down on this idea.
Thumbs down on this idea. ;-) To me, that's a utube type feature for kids.
If it is cost effective &
If it is cost effective & the thread would not get chucked ..The best way to handle enemies is to keep them close..I like to hear both side reguardles. but a constant repeat can confuse new people maybe.
YES, good people do good things.. The rest are liars.
Well
Invalid01 keeps bumping that flame war thread. The one about "birthers"
What a bunch of MSM claptrap. If its on TV its valid. If its on the internet it must be invalid.
Drop a note to Michael Nystrom
This is his site. He owns and runs it. There are a few moderators, but he runs the show. This site is not a democracy, though you may wish it so.
I'm not asking for a democracy.
I'm asking for transparency. I dont want the thumbs up/down to bump up or down a post. I just want to be able to have good people put their stamp of approval on what they agree with or disagree with. People will still be able to post whatever they like, this will just make it so that we don't have to respond to the exact same nonsense from the same troll a thousand times. Because everyone will know that we think he is full of crap. It will be plain and clear.
Right now, we can argue them down with valid points only to have them wait us out and act as if we never proved them wrong on all acounts while they just post the same exact info again and again.
But if they had a thumbs down on their posts from the majority of the users on this site, there would be no need to keep bumping their posts in order to combat them and keep them from spreading lies, especially to those who are new here.

If I kicked you in the butt
would that break your thumb?
Trust me. You wouldn't dare.
But the internet makes tough guys out of everyone, eh?

Oh, tough guy eh?
Coyntainly! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk..
Thumbs down , it makes "blowhards" out of many.
Let`s see I`ve been retired for a number of years now and I`ll have to remove my thumb from where it has been since retirement. I`ll give it a good cleaning and be ready for the pro/con games to begin.

I was wondering what this thread was about. After reviewing the
topics at hand, I understand now. However, I think the majority of us can tell when someone is here to pick a fight. Guess that is why I have not touched the unforsaid topic to the right. lol

Yes, but these guys don't care if we all know it.
They do not care how much we fight against them, the post the same BS over and over again and pretend that they are supported by everyone around here. I think back to the 9/11 official story post where they had their pants pulled down by a honest vote. Yet, guess what... they are still here. Posting the same BS.

Do not fight, ignore! We can choose whether to respond or not
I am just concerned that such a system could be abused as well.

Not if the names of who voted for what was attached to it
They would expose themselves if they wanted to hop on multiple names and vote something down. It would be transparency.
