Online Poll: Jon Stewart Is America's Most Trusted Newsman

07-23-09 11:03 AM

Well, in a result that he will probably accept as downright apocalyptic for America, The Daily Show's Jon Stewart has been selected, in an online poll conducted by Time Magazine, as America's Most Trusted Newscaster, post-Cronkite. Matched up against Brian Williams, Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, Stewart prevailed with 44 percent of the vote. Now, if we're being honest, he probably managed to prevail as the winner precisely because he was the odd man out in a field of network news anchors. Nevertheless, I think Jim Cramer should feel free to SNACK ON THAT.

Obama Skids in Another Ratings Count: TV Viewers

Monday, July 27, 2009 10:49 AM
By: James Hirsen

President Obama received flack from all sides for his answer to a question at his healthcare press conference in which he said that the police officers involved in Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates' arrest “acted stupidly.”

But who could have predicted that “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart would do a presidential put-down?

“I wasn't at the press conference last night, and I also don't have all the facts, but I think it's fair to say that Obama handled that question — oh, what's the word I'm looking for — stupidly?” the Comedy Central star cracked.

In light of Walter Cronkite's recent passing, a Time magazine poll picked Stewart as the anchor now regarded as the “most trusted newscaster.”

Maybe it's a sign of the news-entertainment fuse, but Stewart actually topped the list.

I like him. Good for

I like him. Good for America. Now if they would just stop reading the newsrags too...

Ventura 2012

I met him.....he was very "plastic"?

When Gouliani came to our little town, during the campaign...about 15 of our Meet-up group decided to "welcome" him with our Ron Paul signs. We knocked on Jon Stewart's van and he stepped out for a moment to "pacify' us. He's a tool....

He's a fraud

And he doesn't care that Obama isn't a citizen. None of that bothers the bankers or their shills, people need to catch onto that fact.

The entire sheeple media is a fraud.....

They throw in little scraps of truth in the hope that the sheeple will continue to have "faith" in them.....apparently it works!

Thomas Paine

Of course...

..Now get them all to recognize it, and CANCEL their subscriptions..

Get them to see these shills for what they are, just send them to the "Real News Network" and likewise to get them to CANCEL and stop eating the bullshit. That's where their power lies.

Sigh....you're preaching to the choir....

I am desperately trying to dislodge that remote from the hands of friends and family, but...they have a death grip on that thing! I gave my boss an earful of the REAL news today and her response was: "I know you are informed, but just listening to what you said makes me want to run and hide...I think most people just don't want to know". I asked her if she realized how UN-AMERICAN that sounded! I had to walk away.....I need my job.

Well then....

...Don't ask them to know in public, just have them search on "Ron Paul Federal Reserve North American Union" and from the privacy of their home....find out everything without having to blink

It's all there in the open already......all you have to do is turn off the TV and look it up, then turn the TV back on and realize they're lying. Cancel your subscription & get a new news station.

Stewart is controlled opposition.

Saw it years ago....

We need all the Rand Pauls in the Senate that we can get.

Newsmax and Huffington are controlled media

Stewart is a great guy and yes, he is controlled opposition.

Once he asks for a list of the men who own the fed he will be taken off the air.

Don't believe me?

Why has the fed been under private control since 1914 without one congressman saying a word until now? You mean our enslavement was AOK until HR1207?

Why hasn't the media said a word? They have had 85 years to tell us the truth....why the silence?

Unify

He's a comedian

He even said once that" If Comedy Central is where you get your news, you're in big trouble." I like him.

.

Glenn Beck also claims to be a Commedian

And Fox News argued successfully in court their station is for entertainment purposes only.

Jon Stewart is another mouth piece like Bill Maher and Glenn Beck.

If you want to think it's just fun and games and not about swinging public opinion then you've taken the blue Obama pill and are still asleep.

Maybe

yea, maybe that should be what they ask.

.

I think it's a sad situation

I think it's a sad situation that people can't have a serious discussion without making jokes, laughing at serious problems.
Jon Stewart being the most trusted is a reflection of a society that is entertained 24/7 and shy away from critical thinking.

"A government of reason is better than one of force." --Thomas Jefferson to Richard Rush, 1820

Jon Stewart is the liberal version of Glenn Beck

He's a liberal dressed up as a libertarian, but the reality is he is he turns on libertarians and makes them look like kooks any chance he gets.

Just another Bill Maher really--oh so controversially within the lines.

Ron Paul people need to call out this Stewart Clown like they did Glenn Beck.

Stewart--or any on TV for that matter--could be 1000 times more popular if they were truly on the libertarian side. So far.. no one exists who is.

Even Penn from Penn Teller with his anarchist leanings is just full of non-solutions for 99% of things. Every show ends the same way, "I exposed what I think is the truth, but fuck the truth and fuck the world."

Judge Napolitano is probably the closest thing we got, but he doesn't push hard enough on the important issues when he's on.

Actually, I have heard more

Actually, I have heard more honesty from Stewart and Colbert than from any of the MSM anchors. Would I consider them a reliable source of a broad spectrum of world news? Of course not, but they are more likely to make truthful statements of some substance than the MSM anchors.

Pat

BOHICA!!

Pat

BOHICA!!

Probably because he before

Probably because he before any of them started to criticize Obama

I don't watch his show but he did put Schiff on and was fair

heck it makes some sense

Stewart knows when to pounce. Ask Jim Cramer!

He was chopped up by Stewart.
He certainly respected Ron Paul, when he was a guest. Stewart has an agenda, but knows when to be tactful/respectful and when to attack.
