I just tried to educate a redneck bigot

Didn't work. All he could come back with was, "America's the best country in the world". He also informed me if it wasn't for federal income taxes, I wouldn't be able to drive my truck. I think I got slightly dumber being in his presence. His tee-shirt read "Welcome to America, Now Speak English!" You know you're dealing with a true intellectual when you see that one. Even if the guy had a good point, shouldn't those shirts say " Bienvenido a América, Ahora Habla inglés"???
I feel I should add that I am also a redneck and a hillbilly. I just use my brain and don't hate people for what color or nationality they turned out as.

Redneck
Using the word "redneck" is for many a socially acceptable bigot word. Those who would never dream of using name calling to demean African-Americans, Hispanics, Jews, etc. are quite comfortable calling people rednecks.
The word goes back to Scotland. It meant a Scot or Presbyterian which was practically the same thing. Supposedly it was used by the English to refer to Scots who wore a red rag or handkerchief into battle around their necks.
In America it has become an insult by those who are ignorant of its real meaning, its ethnic meaning.
And yes my ancestors came to America from Scotland so I'm a redneck.
I thought
It referred to farmers, and other rural people who had short hair, worked in the sun all day riding around on tractors and had red necks from sunburn. This identified them as "Hicks from the Sticks" that describes their perceived level of sophistication and ultra conservatism. Also applied to anyone with similar values. "Country Boys"

This is a common definition but the word goes back to the old country. It's a reference to Scots and Scots-Irish. As we know the word has become an insult word much like the N-word.

That's why
whenever somebody speaks Spanish to me, I say "No habla Espanol".
I always thought that was a funny/ironic thing to say, because if I didn't "habla Espanol", I wouldn't know to say "No habla Espanol".
Of course, I don't "habla Espanol", but I do like to use that one expression.

Whenever I get panhandled, I say:

One morning a particularly bigoted paramedic co-worker of mine was waiting for our crew to relieve him from his post in Dickinson (Galveston County) but they had to hold over due to the fact a medical emergency call dropped on us as soon as we reported in-service. After making the scene and loading up the patient I hear the tones go off on the radio for a one vehicle rollover with multiple patients trapped inside.
Well, after turning my patient over to the ER doc I walked out the double doors just in time to see Mr. Bigot coming the other way. His uniform, bare arms, stretcher, and patient were coated with thick globs of white latex house paint. In fact so were the seats in back of his rig, the floorboards, steering wheel, door handles, you name it. It seems the rollover vehicle contained load of undocumented immigrants with 5 gallon buckets of house paint all on their way to the jobsite.
So's I go back inside and when no one else was in earshot commented "I don't see why you're pissed off, they're all white now."
I'm lucky he didn't kill me right then and there.
