Fellow Citizens,

Senator Bunning announced on Monday that he will not be running for re-election to the U.S. Senate, stating: "I hope a strong conservative wins the primary. The Republican Party needs more people with strong principles and convictions that can stand up to the temptations of political power that have engulfed so many of our leaders after they arrive inside the beltway."

Dr. Paul commented on this announcement saying: "I have nothing but good things to say about Senator Bunning. I would also like to thank him for his service, and I commend him for his courage to vote against the bank bailout."

We share Senator Bunning's vision and will be working to bring that future about. The Exploratory Committee staff would also like to thank Senator Bunning for standing for his beliefs and not succumbing to political pressures.

Rand will have several speaking engagements leading up to the Fancy Farm Picnic. He will be speaking on July 31st at the McCracken County Women's Club, and at Marshall County's later that evening, and again on August 1st at the Graves County Republican Breakfast. Please check the event calendar for more details.

The main event will be at the 129th Annual Fancy Farm Picnic, August 1st at 2PM Central. The picnic is a very significant event in Kentucky politics, and supporters are strongly encouraged to attend. Come early, bring signs, and prepare to show Kentucky that "Freedom is Popular!"
