Is anyone at all concerned about Jeff Cherry running against Paul?
Submitted by flipstrt on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 19:20
Ive been keeping an eye on this guy. It doesn't appear that anyone has been visiting his site, a poll that been on his front page for awhile only has 42 votes.
You guys think Cherry is any kind of threat to Paul's seat?

Someone else should run in the 14Th
I would like to see another neocon come in with the same agenda as cherriys just to split his vote.
Yeah. Twenty-two votes a
Yeah. Twenty-two votes a piece.
cherry is playing up to the neocons
so keep an eye to see if any tarp money comes in. THE !4TH MUST NEVER FALL!
I don't think he has much of
I don't think he has much of a chance, but you never know what will happen/what circumstances will change.... So it's better to be ready and safe, then sorry later.
Who was it last time that tried to challenge Dr. Paul and got wiped out? I can't even remember his name... he actually had decent fundraising- several hundred thousand dollars... a considerable amount considering Dr. Paul's district is largely rural and it's not a very significant seat (except for the fact that Ron Paul currently holds it). I don't think this Cherry character will do as well as the last challenger in terms of fundraising.... but if there's any sign of a threat, I think we can assume Dr. Paul will quickly receive a few million dollars from us to resolve the issue.
The last one that ran against Ron Paul
Was Chris Peden. All he did was bash the good doctor's name and really didn't say anything else. Dr. Paul got way over 70 per cent of the votes and I think Mr. Cherry should learn his lesson from this.

my understanding
My knowledge of Texas 14th district is very limited, mostly consisting of watching Dr. Paul's congressional run in 08. Over the years RP has had stiff competition from within his own party, SURPRISE! From what I gather, at one time the bushies tried like he11 to get him out and couldn't.
Which leads to this, those voters in Texas 14 must be some pretty smart cookies! A tip of the hat to Texas 14 from Ohio
Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio
Thanks , the 14th is a very diverse group of liberty loving
people. I don`t think we can be fooled by Neocons with their empty promises and lies.

I just wanted to say thank you for...
Saying "A tip of the hat to" instead of what seems to be the trend to shorten the saying to "hat tip to"...sorry one of my pet peeves. See it on LRC quite a bit and the first I noticed it was from Tom woods. I just think the short version sounds weird and more empty with less respect paid to the person/group whop you are trying to give a tip of the hat too. end of rant
Never underestimate an...

Cherry is wasting his time...
Ron Paul clearly will win his district again. He won by the largest margin of victory and is getting a tremendous amount of press on the national level. His exposure will only help with fund raising and he will cream Mr. Cherry into a jar of jam.
