Why are police and military "heroes"?

Has anyone ever wondered why we have such a hard time getting the Freedom Movement into the mainstream? It is stupid comments like this. Many of our police and military have stood in front of guns violence for us and atrickpay thinks they are all criminals. That is like saying if one student out of 50 gets an F the teacher is a bad teacher. I hope no one ever breaks into his house.

People on this site need to be more accepting of the general public and undrestand that we may not agree on everything but lets try. Every time some one says something that does not "toe the Ron Paul line" they get called names. I wouldn't want to be a part of this organization either...

to describe a group who is paid to do that job is a devaluation of the word. I guess we will have to make up a new one. A hero faces immediate death, not possible danger.

Actually I decided to look it up here is Webster's dictionary. Looks like they are just misusing the word.

it was a concession to not being paid enough and that teachers were in the same category. Meaning, as a society, we cannot pay them enough for the harder parts of their job so we have this concession where we treat them as heroes.

It seems pretty out there, but, there was a time when I didn't have access to libertarian resources, but I was full of questions about the way things were and the answers available to me were inadequate. I had to improvise (think for myself from scratch without anyone to bounce my conclusions off of).

And I feel the same way about every Sailor I know . Never met anyone of them that I thought of a as thug. Sorry but no one is going to change my Mind. (I do despise Roid Ragging Alfa Males But I'll continue to focus my disdain towards the Police). lol

it's in hopes that when their time comes and a cop or military person is stomping their face, they may get brownie points by crying, "I always said I think you're a hero".

So the wimpy majority are thankful for people who are either too desperate, too stupid, too deranged, or too aggressive, and in some cases, yes, too brave to be afraid to fight.

And then there is the personality disorder that keeps people from realizing that they are independent creatures, alone in the world, responsible for themselves, so they instead identify themselves with the high school (football team), state or nation in whose territory they live, and idolize those who hold up the banner (team captain or cheerleader, politicians, military and police); what a sick society.

If we regarded them as simple low level employees, some on power trips, that report to their superiors, mostly without question so that they can keep their jobs, then maybe we might be more in contact with reality.

Oh, and yes, some are very decent people who believe in freedom, and just made a bad career choice.
