This Ticks me off!
It's the big processing centers that are not safe! Not Mom and Dad farms!
We are being lawed and legislated to death and cannot compete.
Washington DC needs to be stormed by some very angry Patriots in 2010!
According to GovTrack linked
According to GovTrack linked in the OP this bill actually failed by 7 Votes.
They suspended rules but needed 2/3 for it to pass. They only got 280 of the 287 needed to pass this trash.
Of course, being that close only means it will be back soon and they will keep trying until it is passed.
The govt claims that 5000
The govt claims that 5000 people die every year from food related incidents. 5000 seems like a lot, but not when compared to 330 million people. Just how much money is this going to cost, and how much government control do we have to give to save 1 in 75000 people? It makes me wonder how we survived the last 235 years with all these supposed problems in our food supply.
e coli and salmonella is something most people with a healthy immune system can shrug off like a case of bad diarrhea.
It is amazing to see how
It is amazing to see how much you are going through, when will heads roll?
Someone need to drop a nuke on Washington D.C. soon before all is lost.

Looks like its true. Just
Looks like its true. Just add it to the carbon tax, health care, hate crime bill. We americans are being hit on all sides now and the majorty don't have a clue. What we breathe, what we say, what we eat, where we get medical care. Have they left anything out? Time to confront the Senate. Luckily election day it coming up. At least in my policestate.
The National Health Federation issued a press release saying
HR 2749 is still in limbo and may be "re-voted" on today!

Contact your rep immediately and tell him or her to oppose this bill!!

That was prior to the 6pm vote
It's a done deal in the house. Move on to your senators.

Stop industrialized mono crop intensive farming.
Let the best farmers in the world grow food for everybody . . . and that is the american small family farmer.
(and he now stands threated to extinction)
No to plantation racism.
The Mexican people say no to NWO too. They know. Mexican farmers have been ravaged for twenty years heavy, so get ready. And currently fighting against aggression on their lands. This could take a generation to get our lands back into the stewardship of individual soveriegnty.
You mess with open access to food, and you have passion on fire.
And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Start getting freedom today by dumping Federal Reserve Notes, Stocks, Banks and anything made outside the USA. Buy precious metals, real estate, businesses, food and guns and get your business community to use local or sound currenc
Suspend the rules.
It's not really a bill though, it's a resolution. This thing WILL NOT pass. We can beat it. When the house has to run around itself to push a res through, the senate generally won't vote on it quickly if at all. That said, watch carefully for food-bourne illness "outbreaks" to help get the people behind it. We'll stop them. We hit them hard out and we have the american farmer behind us!

There's still a long way to go before it hits the President
We kept them at bay and they beat us on procedure in the House, but we can kill this thing in the senate. Shake it off.

“It is very exciting. It shows me that, finally, the very people who should be taking leadership are acting in a timely fashion. Congress is really responding to a 21st century need.” Buck stressed the importance of today’s success, adding that some advocates were worried food safety would not have received another chance in the 111th Congress had HR 2749 failed.

food safety
This is just another tool for "we the people" to show how our government is out of control. Besides my jewelry business I also have a goat dairy. If H.R. 2749 has an impact on my clients ability to get farm fresh food there will be political hell to pay. And the dems are going to lose a lot of support. Our job is to tell everyone what they've done and rally them to the cause of freedom.
I have started to call family and friends. I am asking them to donate $25 for my Christmas gift. If we can all do this we will raise a bunch more money.
I saw it did just pass with some kind of closed rule however,
it needs to also pass the Senate this fall. This the time to work on our senators in full force ! Start calling and writing and actually meeting with them. C4L members need to get organized! NOW! We need to stop this bill in its tracks!
betty
So is this the "official" latest then please? (at work)

Just google it under news
It passed..they have not updated Thomas yet. It failed yesterday and that is
what they are reporting. They voted on it again today and it passed.

I know it passed, because I was watching it on c-span today! they just haven't up dated Thomas. sad but true
Henry Waxman
I just saw that Henry Waxman is a cosponsor to this bill. Does Waxman associate himself with every bill that is corrupt and does more harm than good?? This is the guy who introduced the cap and trade bill. We need to get this guy out of Congress!
