Socialized Medicine the deathknell for our movement?

How in the hell are you going to convince a population of sheeple to adopt limited government when they are literally taken care of by the nanny state from cradle to grave. The worst part is that it IS possible that socialized medicine will seem to "work", because the fascist system we have now is so bad.

Buck up.
Government spending will rise, they will inflate to cover the costs, the value of the dollar will depreciate, and people will get pissed-- Look at it as the nail in the lid of the coffin of their movement.
After 45 years of supporting
After 45 years of supporting every whim the gov"t came up with, they have reached the point of my totaly being expendable..I never asked for anything other than let me alone, I rendered it, they spent it ..Now they want it all . My healthcare premiums that I already paid for through out my life are not enough..Not only do they want my money, they will take my life in a heart beat..That my friends is a SICK people.

I agree with the 80% of
the population who is happy with their health care and coverage.
It doesn't have to be.
I have had a great reception here for Ron Paul H.R. 2629 Coersion is not healthcare". People here understand that alternative medicine is popular and not part of the government program. It is alternative medicine we need to support and offer against socialized medicine to win this.

Moving America even further towards collectivism on healthcare is an unmitigated disaster. Anyone who gives a toot about the future prosperity and welfare of Americans needs to fight this with all they have. Regardless of one's own preference for alternative, currently less regulated, medicine, the vast majority of Americans' health care dollars are spent by so called mainstream practitioners. If they get turned from being individuals to becoming mere tools for the totalitarian state, we're screwed.
Heck, reasonable people could even argue that without anywhere on earth with an even semi free health care industry, our future life expectancies, at least unless we bow down and submit unconditionally, may drop to the point where, regardless of what we do, we won't live any longer than Tim McVeigh did.
That is not my experience
Maybe it's because medical marijuana is considered an alternative medicine, but when I remind people here that the feds will not approve of their crops, they no longer want federal healthcare and fight it. I've been winning with Ron paul's H.R. 2629 Coersion is not Healthcare. Perhaps in other places it does not matter. Here, it matters a great deal since alternative healthcare is the people choice, and we have been fighting for that right for over a decade in CA alone.

This is it,
the last stand. Either fight it now or perish. Imagine Amerca in 50 years if we keep going down this road.
I don't mean to be overly pessimistic, however. I have faith in the good and so I know that in the end we shall prevail.
the thing is, there is a
the thing is, there is a good chance that the welfare state will implode and we will start over from scratch, but if we have socialized medicine that people think works we will not be able to change things much. We would probably have to become hard money anti-war anti-corruption social democrats

Socialized medicine can only
Socialized medicine can only seem to work as long as there are no reasonably large and advanced countries where medicine is not socialized. Western European medicine only fools our own less that altogether literate countrymen, because medicine in America is also so damned regulated it is not all that much better than what they have. But still, it is a smidgen better.
If we went to federal health care policies more in line with what was practiced back when America was still great (that'd be around the time when Jefferson was president), the European model would quickly be shown up for the tragedy it is.
Now, if even America falls into the socialized medicine trap, there will no longer be any larger country with some remnants of freedom left in this arena. So then, of course, it will appear as if socialized medicine is the best of all available alternatives.
If our federal government does end up burying us in that particular gutter, the only viable way out will be secession; individual and by state or county. Just as the Southern states demonstrated with Right to Work, the utter inhumanity and uncompetitiveness of government involvement in private concerns won't long stand when opposed by even halfway free people. So the goal must then become to create at least one reasonably sized area where people have at least some form of freedoms left. Whatever that takes.
SECESSION MAY BE COMING!
I'm beginning to believe that this is within possibility.....

International treatys
International treatys superceed States rights ..If you seceed you better be able to back it up. Tell your Governors.
You won't be fighting the US ,it will be the Coalition.
They have to do it legal. After all they are lawyers.

I think one good strategy is to remind people
how badly the Gov. manages every industry and agency they control. We need as many facts and figures as possible on the bad influence the bureaucracy already has had of health care costs, both in America and other countries.
Proponents of legislation always offer wishful projections that totally discount past performance. Bring them back to reality. Also they never note the dangers of central control and collusion with Big Industry. The result of lobbying always results in monopolies or less choice for the majority.
Also the FDA's dismal record of foot dragging and outright obstruction of newer medical advances or alternative discoveries by itself should invalidate giving government even more influence and power.
We gotta keep it up and
We gotta keep it up and focus on true free-market solutions which we haven't had yet like these http://www.lewrockwell.com/bryan/bryan12.1.html .
Remember history is always changing! So we don't have to worry that there will be socialized medicine in the US until the end of time, we just have to try harder.
It's a repeat of a very sad part of our history!
We are walking in very bad medicine!
Possibly.
I'm focused on secession now!
