Ron Paul Blimp

Daily Paul Liberty Forum

I live within 45 minutes of Elizabeth City, NC where the blimp is supposed to take off from on Dec 10th. Does anyone know any more details about it's time/location? Some homeschooling friends and I and our children would love to go.

The blimp is an awesome idea, in my opinion.

I've pledged $25 to it, and while that's a small amount, every RP supporter I know is doing at least the same.

Now, all we need is a NASCAR Liberty '08 car with Dr. Ron Paul as the main sponsor. Maybe the Granny Warriors can hook this up??

Thanks for all the responses folks. I got the 12pm time frame so that at least gives me something to work my schedule around. Elizabeth City isn't that big so I'm sure we'll just have to look UP! :)

On ronpaulforums everyone is waiting to see what they came up with. It's apparently very complicated collecting such a big amount. They have a lawyer and treasurer involved and are setting up some sort of legal entity.

There is clear evidence that some of the pledges are FAKE.

But... the good news is that with the new legal structure people can donate MORE than what they pledged. They can, apparently, donate up to 1 million dollars.

Let's wait and see.

is they need to communicate. Just a two line update a couple times a day. I know they must be frantic, but maybe like they could say y'know hey aunt myrtle, type a message sayin we're workin on it! Like that.

I'm so obsessed with all things Ron Paul. (And this site is so addictive!) I wish that the Blimp page would begin to transition now into a "latest news" page ...all about the blimp (i.e. when the paint job will be done, when the request for contributions will be sent out, what the projected schedule of events are from now 'till lift off, etc...).

The blimp gang could really build up more excitement by keeping us more informed if even just a daily update paragraph on their site. Hopefully, all of the excitement will continue to build up, and spill over into big news stories. What a spectacle this will be. Million$ in free press for a $325,000 blimp investment.

Surely it should be at the Tea Party!

UPDATE - We are in the process of developing a website to accept transactions and the website should be up soon (24-48 hours). The blimp artwork is being prepared and the Skyship 600 is scheduled to launch on the 10th of December from Elizabeth City, North Carolina. We will have a rally at the launch and everyone is encouraged to be there for launch!!

I'd imagine they will make the details on the launching available as the time nears.

I am not here to criticize those who've concocted this cockamamie idea. I almost broke a finger trying to get to the pledge site when they first announced it. Divine madness, it is.

However, launch is scheduled for the 10th of Dec. and it's four hours til the 1st. AND I STILL CAN'T SEND THEM THE MONEY I HAVE PLEDGED!!

What if I'm called away on business?, travel abroad? Go camping in Alaska?

Come on guys, take my money!!! Please!!!

They're lookin for a Treasurer. Whatever.

Somebody (preferably somebody who knows what the hell they're doing) VOLUNTEER and HELP them. Time and tide (and winds) wait for NO man!!!

What: Ron Paul Blimp Take off in Elizabeth City, NC - RALLY!!!

When: Monday, December 10, 12:00 PM

Event Description: The Ron Paul Blimp will be taking off from Elizabeth City, NC on December 10th. It will be traveling up to Boston, hopefully, to arrive on the 15th. Just in time for the 16th! There will be a rally at the takeoff. It is on Monday, so I'm not sure who will be able to go, but it would be a great event to be at and to catch on video. It would be a great promotion for our meetup.
