135 billion of Treasury bonds confiscated by Italian financial police at Italian border to Switzerland
What sounds like a fairy tale story seems to be the biggest discovery of the history of Italian Financial Police. Mitsuyoshi Watanabe and Akihiro Yamaguchi( brother in law of the govenor of Bank of Japan Toshiro Muto) were caught on the 3rd of June on a local train to Chiasso( Swiss border to Italy) with treasury bonds of 135 billion US$ in their luggage. The discovery was tried to be burried from the press immediatedly but the Venerdi supplement of the Italian newspaper La Repubblica took up the story on July 31st.
Among the confiscated bonds are also some from the famous bonds issued under president Kennedy in order to abolish the Federal Reserve. This story should fill the front page of all newspapers around the world. The bonds the two Japanese carried with them represent to be the biggest foreign credit of the US after China , Japan and Russia. Some experts think that these T-bonds must belong to the Japanese government and that Yamaguchi and Watanabe had the task to sell those bonds to some financial institution in Switzerland.
If the bonds turn out to be genuine, which is what the judge in charge expects, the Italian government could cash a fine from the Japanese of approx. 50 billion US$.
I wonder which newspaper will still report about this tremendous discovery of the Italian financial police.

Bonds
The American Free Press had a story concerning the bonds in their July 6, 2009 issue.

Last nite on CoasttoCoast radio,
Editor and publisher of International Forecaster, Bob Chapman, discussed the economic crisis, how brokerage firms such as Goldman Sachs played a part in fueling the collapse, and where he sees the economy heading into the future.
He further mentioned, that after WW2, the US government made a contract with Japan, and offer CIA envolvment in return for doing whatever the US dictates to Japan.
In other words, he claims US is part of this dumping, and CIA knew about it.

This is very old news and there is no new news ....
in this.
The U.S, claim they are counterfeit and the Italian Gov. agreed.
Unless there is evidence to the contrary, this story is over.

this story is over?
The fact that these instruments exist, whether they ore genuine or forgeries, is an untold story in itself. Think of the potential consequences of either case. The counterfeit story is less damaging to our (citizens of the USA) "managed perspective" than the other story.
"The U.S. claim they are counterfeit and the Italian Gov. agreed." Since when does anyone accept as truth the words that come out of the mouth of a government offial?
not over yet
I was under the same impression but as the italian press has retaken this in a 6 page article on July 31st, it seems to be that it is NOT yet over and that the judge does not agree on the counterfeit, neither the Italian government.
