Is this really smoking gun of Obama's Kenyan birth?
Submitted by northstar on Sun, 08/02/2009 - 13:39
WASHINGTON – California attorney Orly Taitz, who has filed a number of lawsuits demanding proof of Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president, has released a copy of what purports to be a Kenyan certification of birth and has filed a new motion in U.S. District Court for its authentication.
The document lists Obama's parents as Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann Obama, formerly Stanley Ann Dunham, the birth date as Aug. 4, 1961, and the hospital of birth as Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya.

Lavender = launderer
Lavender is not an uncommon last name. It means launderer. The root is the same as for "lavatory."
Thanks
Thanks for pointing that out.
E.F. Lavender
I'm going to repeat something that I posted at http://www.dailypaul.com/node/101772#comment-1116040 because I believe it to be important.

On this new birth document, some critics are saying that it is a hoax because E.F. Lavender (a name appearing on the document) is a detergent product. However, here’s something interesting: http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/1536351/387756?zoo...
An old Australian newspaper (The Argus) from July 13, 1915. Zoom in on “Law Clerks’ Offer.” It talks about a man named E.F. Lavender. I’m not saying it’s the same man — after all, 1915 to 1961 is a 46 year gap — though theoretically it could be the same man. But anyway, the point is that Australia also has ties to England as did Kenya. The British monarch is still the Australian chief of state even today. So if there was a man in Australia named E.F. Lavender, who says there couldn’t be one in Kenya?
Excellent...thank you.

Any word from that one Ebay dude?
The guy from Iowa who kept listing a Kenya BC and they kept pulling his listings? Is he involved in any of these recent developments or are his 15 min over?
Wait,
So the pics in that worldnet link, that's the real certificate Orly is presenting, or is that the fraud forged one from a week ago that the article mentions at the end?
I don't know, they look pretty photoshopped to me. I could be wrong but it looks suspect. Anyone else noticed the pixelation surrounding each text snippet? It looks like old type print superimposed on top of a picture of an old blank document, the pixels don't line up. Are there any other photos or video of it?
I noticed the same thing with the official Hawaiian Certification of Live Birth, if you look closely it has the same pixelation around its letters. Does image compression just do that to letters or is something else going on?
Is there any real documentation?
Typical JPG artifacts
That is from the JPG compression, look at some other images of text on the internet and you'll see the same thing. PNG is a better format for stuff like this.
You are correct sir
just did a test
John Tate letter 800x600 has text artifacts
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/3113/p1030250.jpg
Same letter 1600x1200 little to no artifacts

my concerns are answered, seems legit.
thanks Andre
as vocal as she's been
I certainly hope Ms Taitz isnt willing to suddenly throw all of her credibility onto some crappy photoshopped forgery and risk looking like a compleat boob. She looks awful confident in the document and its source.
I hope so too
From what I've seen of Ms Taitz she's got her stuff together, I even involuntarily said out loud "oh snap!" during one of her videos. She's good. That's why these poor quality photos bug me. Hopefully there's more images out there in higher resolution, especially for something this important. I'll search and see what I can find, anyone else have any links?
p.s. when I click on the link to Orly's blog a warning window pops up and says "this is a known attack site. Malicious programs will install on your computer", whats that all about? Anyone else get that, is there any truth behind it or should i just ignore it and go anyway? thanks!
No, it's the real document
And WND took photos of the document and presented them to you.
This is some really lame trolling and your supposed photo analysis is BS because you obviously don't work with image editing like I do or otherwise you be naming stuff.
The so called 'depixelation' you are seeing is known as jpeg compression, which breaks an image into blocks. The reason why you notice it more around the text is because of the color difference between black and the grayish-white paper.
There would be no depixelation in a forgery. You would just get a font or edit a font from a higher resolution source.
There appear to be no seams or use of the clone tool. And the fact that they made sure to take the photos at angle was smart and makes it more authentic.
IE, since you are getting multiple photos at various angles you know can see how the text needs to translate multiple ways in 3D space. It would take some seriously ridiculous editing skills and time to edit text and transform across a 3d image like this. They'd have to either paint it or create a 3D model--very sophisticated and time consuming when it could be done in a much more simple manner.
You would need to paint all the details like how creases have worn ink and warped the font.
The question is whether the original doc is an elaborate forgery because thus far the pictures are not.

1. I'm not trolling
2. I understand its difficult but questioning and analysis is of upmost importance. Never take anything at face value.
3. I actually do work in 3D film graphics but I was hoping someone with more image editing expertise would respond to this, especially about the image compression question, which you did to my satisfaction, thanks.
4. No hard feelings on my part, I understand the importance of this issue and in no way want to troll or cast doubt, I just want to be sure our evidence is solid before I commit to it or try to convince others.
Well.
I was wondering how long it would take for the debunkers to show up.. are you like the first response team?
Both images you are taking about are in jpeg format, so they are compressed. Antialiasing during compression causes the pixellation you are talking about. For instance, look at the edges of the document... it has the same pixellation between two disparate colors, the tablecloth and the document.
The Kenyan document was also reduced to 64K colors, probably the camera. The image itself is presented in 16 million colors, but is 1200 x 1068 pixels, which is huge for a webpage. So some compression was needed.

Thanks Devon,
Good to know.
this might be coming from the divorce file

Thank You Hawaii!

On the twins "live birth certificate", it has been certified on 5-5-1966. Besides that, Kenya is not the United States, what, you don't expect differences?
We all know that he's not legit, no proof to the otherwise. And, "Beckwith", "The Obama File" states that his gang of thieves 'n robbers are scrubbing the internet AND Asia for any links related to his life!
They say she doesn't have
They say she doesn't have supporting evidence when everyone knows his father was not a US citizen and the constitution calls for a natural born citizen.
LOL!
If it's a fake, it's at least 200% more "authentic" looking than the COLB posted by Obama's flying monkeys.
Dayum, in the close-up pic, one can actually see where it has torn at some of the creases, allegedly for being folded up for decades. Nice touch.
Yeah - agreed. It certainly looks its age.
Theres alot at stake here- especially for the friends of the man who would be president. Such people would spare no expense to produce a perfect forgery- especially since even a real one would be called a forgery by many people even after its proven real. But if this one passes the tests, coupled with the circumstantial evidence of Obama sealing any possible supporting data in his college records etc- he may just have a decent fight on his hands.
hmmm could we see Ron Paul president after all

I hope
this is the real deal. It could cause serious civil unrest though. Whatever happens, the truth is always more important. If it's true, hopefully Obama goes on T.V.(with teleprompt if need be) and confess that he misled the country and for everyone to forgive him so we can move on.
Three things caught my eye:
Signature of Registrar: was typed (Lavendar)
Signature of Obama, Sr.: was typed (Informant)
Why wasn't it recorded until Feb, 1964????

Could be because
Kenya became independendent only two months before in December and they had to update records that were older to reflect the new republic.
"shortly before Kenya became independent on 12 December 1963"

For your questions...
Taitz is saying that this is a certified copy issued in 1964 of the origional birth certificate.
Thus the typed names and the date.

Id like to see another one or two that were issued
around the same time- within weeks of this one if possible.

My big fear is that somebody is setting Orly up. The real issue remains the undisputed nationality of his alleged father.
Ron Paul is my President.
Ron Paul is my President.
thank you! Wow
Looks pretty darned good dosnt it. I agree- I hope she has good reason to trust her anonymous source - but this seems to me the most convincing document of Obama's birth.
I would, as well...
Perhaps my observations are due to it being a copy?? Perhaps they did not yet have a copy machine...I cannot recall exactly when Xerox machines debuted, but I thought it was in the later 60's...

Not by 1977?
I graduated from high school in 1977 and we didn't have Xerox machines by then. We didn't have personal computers yet, either.
