End the Fed and your standard of living will go down

I've wondered if any of you have yet to realize that. I know for a fact mine will. I build custom cabinets and as of right now I have about fifteen jobs in the pipe line. If it were not for Ft. Polk and all the money that soldiers bring into the economy, the economy here would be dead in the water. The problem is that there is no industry were I live.(I'm sure that's the case most everywhere) Yes, there is the plywood mill here, but they have been laying people off due to the slow down in building.(not here but elsewhere) Just think, without the philosopher's stone all those jobs that will be lost. There will be an extended amount of pain until we can actually begin to produce things again. You also have to wonder what would we produce? Do we even have the infrastructure to produce anything? There are very few jobs that I can think of that would not be affected.

Myself, I would trade every material possession in the world for the opportunity to bring our troops home and to take the power out of an elite few's hands. I am prepared for this to happen.(think Hank Williams Jr. "Country boy can survive") Are you?

For those who believe in the book and these things worry you, I ask you to read Mathew 6: 25,26.

The Fed is obsolete

We can't begin to rebuild our industrial base as long as they subsidise corporations to export our jobs.

Are you sure you're supporting the right man???

It sounds like you don't really understand what Ron Paul and his supporters are all about.

That is just about the strangest thing I've ever seen on the "DailyPaul."

Since they were created in 1914, the FED has ruined our dollar. It is worth 4 cents today compared to the 1930's.

But they have enriched themselves through the century by...

1. Causing economic chaos with interest rates and...
2. Then scaring Congress into appropriating new money which THEY
receive first (BEFORE THE INFALTION DEVALUES IT) and...
3. Then starting the cycle all over again by tinkering with interest rates
which should be MARKET DRIVEN in a free society.

And to squeeze a little more out of the country, they like to start wars and police actions in collusion with other central banks of the world which also helps enrich themselves.

So...I'm afraid your opinion of the FED is terribly misguided.

Read "The Creature From Jeckyl Island" and Murray Rothbard's great little book, "What Has Government Done To Our Money?"

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

We would all feel the pain of collateral damage

if nothing else, we're doing it for our kids. A future involving the Fed looks much bleaker for our grandchildren than one without. The madness has to end sometime. But yes- people will hurt either way.

if it does

we lived above our means.
we couldn't afford all the shit we purchased and now we have to pay the piper.

Astute question

I don't know if anyone can know how bad it would be initially if the Fed were abolished. Our financial system has been so entangled with it for so long that the consequences of simply abolishing it would be unpredictable. Which is part of why it should be phased out, not ended all at once.

No pain , no gain. Use your resourses now to prepare -buy gold,

silver,food stuff and ammo.

"Since 1789 the only government on Earth that has the power to crush the American people`s liberties across the board is the government of the United States"

This is

the most ridiculous thing I've ever read! There may be an adjustment period, but in the long run your standard of living will shoot through the roof! Haven't you ever heard of "inflation"? Ending the Fed will reduce it dramatically!

ridiculous??

I'm all for ending the fed. But seriously think about it. Without the fed, and the ability to monetize debt, all those projects and jobs will be lost. HELLO! America does not produce anything all we really do is consume. How can we be prosperous if we have nothing to sell? What are all those people dependent on the system going to do? Don't you think for just a second that all those people will now be looking real hard at your job? I doubt soon after the destruction of the fed that there will be many teenagers working at McD's. You'll see those same kids replaced by thirty and forty somethings (that is until an infrastructure is in place for making products that the rest of the world needs) I'm not saying that later on down the road things will get better, but in the short run there will be serious pain. When I say short run, I'm actually thinking more like years. Although we (DPers) may be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, most will not. I think people will be begging to have what they had back. (in case you were unaware, we live in a material world) And when people are desperate, they will accept anything. During the Bolshevik Revolution the motto was: "peace land and bread." Understand this, I would starve before I gave an ounce of my freedom away. Just be certain that you understand what lies ahead of us.

Chill out!

I think you're overestimating the Fed's positive effects on the economy. Even if you're not, realistically the Fed's not going to end, at least not anytime soon. Do you really believe the members of the Fed, who have been riding the gravy train for a good long time, are just going to shrug their shoulders and give up? It's going to take a drastic paradigm shift in the American populace resulting in a major opposition to end the Fed, and if it comes to that point, we'll also all be ready for creative solutions for economic recovery and change.

Well,

I'm not saying the fed has a positive effect. However, it's the steam engine that propels this system. Most people are dependent upon this system. That is why I think our first step should be to legalize competing currencies.

I agree

that would be a great first step.

Don't End the Fed and you

Don't End the Fed and you will have ZERO! Choose your poison sonny boy.

Simply sycophants.

I feel so proud of all you DPrs and the spirit

you show in the thread below! I fully agree with all of you; sure there would be a period of readjustment, but that's normal. The blacksmiths had to adjust to new trades when the car came in, etc.
This time it would be most of the populace adjusting, but we already are. The value of our dollars has gone down during the Fed's tenure and will continue to depreciate to utter worthlessness, more banks will fail, more people out of work, etc.
But once people realized they are no longer blocked and held back from growing, producing, selling, bartering, trading, mining, minting, etc. since the Federal government couldn't afford its massive police state without the Fed's massive inflationary power, I think the majority may love the change, the freedom, the lifting of oppression, the unlimited opportunities.

SO

What else is new.. Where do you think it is headed now ?
naughty, naught

Well then we can end the Foundations as well.

There is one case of "wealth re-distribution" that I would love to see and be wholly supportive of....especially after a comprehensive examination of their Minutes and books. Ms. Guillotine would rise again...

Down with the Fed and it's owners hiding in The Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie and Guggenheim Foundations.

Foundations were the brain

Foundations were the brain child of John D. "daddy" Rockefeller. So you know they are no good no matter what public charity given face they put on them. I agree they should go as well.

I would love to find out.

the standard of living was

the standard of living was better in the 50's then it is today.. the dollar bought more. The man of the house would work one job, the woman of the house stayed home and took care of the children. You did not need 2 incomes just to survive.. who says our standard of living is better now then just 3 decades ago? Do you judge your standard of living by how much easier it is because we have computers and other gadgets and can do things much faster? SCREW the fed.. when the fed is gone , things will be much better.

A prudent man foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. Proverbs 22:3
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to
send peace on earth: I came not to send peace,
but a sword.

Totally agree, as one whom was raised during the 50's.

This socialism blame game tyranny sucks. I don't understand it, having been raised free grazing!

Not if Fed Assets were seized, as well.

Take it all, every bit from those filthy bloodsuckers. Too many are like that Congressman who want FUTURE presidents to provide birth certificates.
No, simply ending the Fed is not enough. Justice dictates that these people are utterly ruined, their assets confiscated, and they should spend the rest of their miserable lives at hard labor. While the punishment couldn't possibly fit the crime (the deaths of hundreds of millions, if not billions), the moneychargers should still be whispering about it at least 5,000 years from now. If this does happen, they should consider themselves lucky, as the Bible refers to the "outer darkness" (a black hole?) as the ultimate repository for these monsters.

BTW, unless we end the Fed, they will end us, and your "standard of living" can't get any lower than that.

Your saying all the towns and cities are dependent on the FED

in order to trade. Look up towns/cities using scrip. What makes you think that ending the FED will hurt business there? The military isn't going anywhere. The Congress had more than enough money for a huge military through tariffs and fees. We've got to get out of the mindset that we have to be taken care of by the FED, govt, anyone except ourselves. Getting together with the businesses in your town and cementing a way to trade without worrying about the value of a fake FED dollar. This country did great without the FED. When the FED was (non enacted) so was the IRS there went 30%-55% of your income, The FBI and the ADL
It has devalued the dollar by 95% since 1913...Start talking to community leaders and devise a plan.

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

your

income tax would be gone.

Hey

What makes you think I pay income tax? I've yet to receive income. I only exchange dollars for something was already mine.

My standard of living

will not go down if the Fed ends.
