There are so many things

There are so many things wrong with this.
First of all the 1.4 billion tax won't solve californiana's problems. That's not enough money.
If 56% of californians are for "legalization" why the fuck is it not "legal"?
What was this "government by the people" stuff?
My greatest problem with this is, why pay tax on something you can grow in your backyard that will flower indefinately with just light, soil, and water? We already pay tax on water, and sales tax to buy the soil. Hell, we even pay tax on our electricity to create the light. There are enough taxes already. Decriminalization of growing stops what crime is associated with cannabis.

Think for yourself, question authority

Gov For the People?

That went out the door, right AFTER taxation.

Decriminalization. Not legalization.

They say they want to legalize, regulate and tax. The key word is "regulate".

Ya, both those terms mean nothing

They've been sullied by the criminals we call "bureaucrats" and "politicians".

Omg, Tom Amianno...

a gay-fascist. I didn't think that was possible.

don't get the facist remark

Unless you are being a purist that it should be legal without a tax. But that is not reality.

Look people, letting the government have their "taste" is the only reason why alcohol is legal today.

There will always be a mob (or governmnet) and so we should just pay them our protection money and get on with our lifestyles which may very well include the imbibing of alcohol and/or marijuana....I wish we could buy the government off and purchase other freedoms...like the right to travel anonymously in this country.

I would pay an extra airport tax to maintain my privacy...

Ya, that's why

I'm calling him a fascist. I understand what you're saying, but I'm gonna keep on exposing the statists.

Man this guy needs to be protested at a Town-Hall meeting

a la Tim Bishop (http://www.dailypaul.com/node/101799)!
These marijuana-legalization fascists make me sick.

Why 30K plants in Humbolt?

Humbolt is in the Emerald Triangle, where marijuana is legal for those who have a medical marijuana card. Day before yesterday CAMP took 30K plants, many more plants from Humbolt than Fresno or Tulare. The big news is they are going after Mexican Drug Cartels that are occupying national, state parks and forest industry lands.

There's allot of busts that don't make MSM, but just in the last day in CA we have these as headlines:

To be honest, I believe cannabis, the entire plant, needs to be decriminalized, and more than that, but to me, Cannabis represents Freedom, Liberty, Independence. I think the Framers writing the US Constitution on Hemp, Betsy Ross fabricating the first flag out of hemp, Washington and Jefferson being hemp farmers, Henry Ford's first car.. all employed industrial hemp, are there to remind us, THIS is the fight for a ReNEWed World Order, a reindustrialization based on cannabis. Taking todays' technology into the past for cannabis, is what would make a better world, so these "legalization" attempts by government... it's propeganda. It's saying: LOOK the illegal drug users want us to TAX them! Take THAT so called good people!" As if the sick people who are on medical marijuana want to be taxed. They don't. What they want is not being tossed into prison, and taxing people for having, using, possessing, growing, distributing marijuana (tell you what, when they say "marijuana" they are selling you a lie), they are setting up those who have hope common sense will replace greed. I highly doubt it.

Taxpayers, Jeffferson

Taxpayers are being soaked for this war on drugs. We pay for everything. Here in CA the privatized prison industry has allot of support from the same people who give the military support.

(2 min, 52 sec)

Filmmaker Adam Scorgie explores the illegal marijuana industry in British Columbia, revealing how the international business is most likely more profitable than it would be if it was lawful in this enlightening documentary. Marijuana growers, law enforcement officials, physicians, politicians, criminologists, economists and celebrities -- including comedian Tommy Chong -- shed light on this topical subject in a series of compelling interviews.

excellent documentary. why

excellent documentary.

why do anything else when you can make $4 million dollars a year watering plants in canada?

Think for yourself, question authority

I'm love to see this on the big screen

What did the man say, a $7 billion investment by the feds to fight marijuana? So what can we figure the return is for them? 800K busts...

800K divided into $7 billion.. what's that about 12 million they spend per bust? To build the privatized prisons, where they have moved industry???? NAFTA trades prison labor camp products?

Wow

Those staistics sound like "America Bad".

**“The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them.” ~ Mark Twain **

"...there is no doubt that it (socialism) could not possibly have affected us so widely and so deeply as it has, had it not been heavily financed". - B. Carroll Reece

Shooting them would make "America Bad"

By comparison to other nations' drug policies America is still good, and it is with this good, I would hope to expand to eliminate the not so good policies.

Do they really want another tax?

Why can't they just legalize w/o taxing??

It will be interesting to

It will be interesting to see whether they can tax the stuff without people growing their own weed. They won't be able to tax so much that it makes growing it yourself cost effective. Personally, I never touch the stuff but I want it to be legal to stop the drug war. Hopefully, cheaper and legal weed will mean less use of the harder illegal drugs and even diminish the drug war in that area.

Ventura 2012

It's because most "legalization" advocates

are socialists. "The government needs more money, wa wa." Sick.

Because...

then they couldn't still throw you in jail for growing it yourself...

This is the reason it hasn't been legalized years ago. If it were legal, you could just grow your own.. and they wouldn't be able to make a revenue off of it.

hope they legalize it

hope they legalize it soon.

i didn't like how the guy who runs a dispensary said that those that don't pay taxes are criminals....

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

that gave me chills

that gave me chills

Think for yourself, question authority

That is disgusting Xntryk....

Wow.

Makes sense to me...

After all, how much has the US made the last few decades on the opium trade?

Just good business... :)

Ask the CIA
