Lawrence O'Donnell (interviewing Peter Schiff in above video):
"I've never done any career planning. You know, when I do write my final memoir when I'm 90, it'll have to be titled something like What Came My Way. Cause I've never gone out and try...I'll just bounce along and some other thing will come my way. And it better, because there wont be any welfare or unemployment for me with the Republicans in control."

I'm certain Pete could make more if....
he announced his run. Not everyone wants to donate for a fellow not sure......
As he stepped to the podium...
I thought, he is the Jack Nicholson of the freedom movement. Rock on Peter!!!
His site isn't working for me.
And the widget on this page isn't updating the total either.
Success!
Celebration thread! I posted that after the Guy Fawkes and Tea Party money bombs. Couldn't resist!
Schiff's site is down.
all I'm seeing is an error message:

Never mind..
It seems to be sorted out now.

THIS IS NO INTERVIEW
They should fire that hurlass of a would-like-to-be journalist. This has nothing to do with journalism anymore, if I was Peter I would have stood up and have the hurlass finish his monologue alone. Disgusting US media!

My email to Mr. Ed:
Dear Mr. Ed:
I just wanted to thank you and your show so much for giving me such a great laugh. In these tough economic times we need to laugh, and your surrogate attempting to "interview" (for lack of a better term) Peter Schiff was just what I needed to send me rolling on the floor.
I don't watch your show much, but I did catch the interview on YouTube. I don't imagine you treat every guest in that manner. It was hilarious to watch the host try unsuccessfuly to maneuver Peter into a "gotcha" quote. The childishness of it all really brightened my day. If you guys are the best the opposition has to offer, freedom loving people may just be able to take this country back after all.
Next time you have Peter on (if there is a next time) please be there in person to espouse your statist views. I don't think you'd fare any better than your stand in, but who knows, you might. Anyway, keep the laughs coming.
dodd received 4k from connecticut in 3 months
if you did a double-blind poll and compared the two candidates.
candidate a) 750k raised in 24 hours, 99% donated by the people.
candidate b) $1 million raised in 3 months. from political action committees for the financial, insurance and real estate industries, according to his own fundraising report. not to mention top pay from top executives, hedgefund operators, fidelity, citigroup, and other financial institutions. his total from actual connecticut residents: only $4,000!

In the interest of accuracy
Schiff didn't raise the whole 750k yesterday; he started somewhere around 500k. Still, very impressive.
And you gotta love the utter transparency regarding who owns Dodd's criminal ass. What a puppet.

Also for accuracy, Schiff's
Also for accuracy, Schiff's donors weren't all from CT. Still I'm sure he had vastly more individual donors from CT than Dodd.
This is why Senators are supposed to be appointed, not bought.
It's too easy to keep people like Dodd in office through donations from the corporations that benefit.

We started
with about $475K at midnight Eastern Time. I was one of the first to donate. It was about $706K twelve hours later. Over $200K in a single day, considering all the circumstances, is a pretty good job in my opinion.
I recall someone, most likely Peter Schiff, saying that the guy who raised $750K in the second quarter currently has about $500K available. This makes our guy, especially with his already established national media exposure, in a rather good starting position. Peter said yesterday that he plans to make his official announcement around the Labor Day, which certainly leaves enough time to surpass one million in regard to donations.

February 20, 2012 - Veterans For Ron Paul March on D.C.!
how I stuck it to O'Donnell
It was our December 15, 2007 Los Angeles Tea Party (when we set our 6 million dollar fundraising record) and we all made our way to the Santa Monica pier to "throw" crates of tea into the ocean and hear G. Edward Griffin and others speak.
It was quite an impressive display as we made our way there ... as at least a thousand of us ... marched down the streets and through an outdoor shopping area ... the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade.
As we enthusiastically held our signs high and cheerfully chanted "Ron Paul" I recognized a concerned citizen standing off to the side, staring at the boisterous crowd with dismay. I went up to him and said, "Hi, aren't you Lawrence O'Donnell?" He acknowledged me and I shook his hand. I offered ...
"I was a lifelong flaming liberal, but now I support Ron Paul. I just love him!"
(true) He didn't look to happy or say anything, but I just grinned and scurried off to rejoin the crowd, pleased that I'd given the sucker something to worry about.
He probably thought you were a flake.

I don't think he's particularly worried. Who are you to him anyway?
