When and how did YOU hear of Ron Paul?

I heard of him in May while searching YouTube on government secrecy and stumbled across him. Right off the bat I loved him. His answers made so much sense and seeing him own Rudy was brilliant.

I first heard about Ron Paul from a cyber-friend who lives in Texas.

:)

:)

Netflix

Netflix was offering 'America: Freedom to Fascism' as an online rental back in Jan/Feb of 2007. I watched it online, and I was blown away by Dr. Paul's honesty when interviewed by Aaron Russo about the Fed and government tyranny. I was sold on the guy from that moment. Shortly thereafter, I learned of his candidacy through infowars.com (I think), and I've been following and supporting his campaign of freedom ever since.

Ron Paul 2012!

Some folks on Slashdot.org

Some folks on Slashdot.org posted his name a few times but at first I dismissed it.
I mean, if tech-savvy geeks mention a candidate with fervor then that catches my attention. But since I hadn't heard his name anywhere else I figured it was some very very good but very very fringe candidate with zero chance.

Then -a few months later around late August- I happened to stumble across some of his speeches on YouTube.
The rest -as they say- is history. :-)

Sign wavers that I saw...

Sign wavers that I saw... made me go look him up. I liked what I saw and now I'm one of those sign wavers. :)

Wow this is great

So all that hard work does actually pay off!

at least 10 years

I've known of him for at least 10 years. I've always been a Constitutionalist, and a Second Amendment supporter, and if one looked, he was the only one in Congress with an impeccable voting record on both.

No, Dr. Paul is not new to me, but I'm very glad he's new to all of you!

Ron Paul or no one at all.

Freedom to Fascism Aaron Russo movie

is when I was introduced to Ron Paul...I thought to myself...why doesn't this guy run for President???? LOL.

Imagine my joy when my neighbor at work who is a member of the constitution party told me that "Ron Paul IS running for President"!!!!!

The rest is history

YouTube

My girl was searching for some whacky prank videos and she came across Ron Paul videos. She sent me an email (she's in the P.I.) and told me about RP. The rest is history..

Daily Show/Colbert Report

I first saw him this summer on the Daily Show, then on Colbert. I didn't pay much attention until November 5th. I was so impressed by the support that I gave him another look. I've been a Gravel and Kucinich supporter, but I realized that this is the anti-war candidate with the best shot of winning!

Let's get some more attention from people like me today!

on politics and religion w/

on politics and religion w/ Irvin Baxter Jr., Irvin Baxter was in Indiana and then moved shop to Texas last yr.(endtime.com) he was promoting Russo's film and had him on the show as a guest. i finally watched it, but never new Paul was in it or recognized him. Irvin Baxter was talking about him and saying that he was running for Pres. and mentioned him being in Russo's film. Irvin has been pounding for the repeel of the real i.d. act and has been for a long time. when i heard Paul was against this national i.d. i was in it for the long haul, he's my guy. Paul has been on politics and religion and did really good. i beleive that we are at the brink of the end of time and if the real i.d. takes root here in America we will be ripped apart @ the very core of what makes this nation free. it's time we rise up and make a lasting change and secure our freedom from the evil that this world faces, if we lay aside and expect someone else to do it then you might as well lay aside all of your rights. i say if you beleive as i do w/ all of your heart and passion that something needs to be done to stop this act of invading our freedom w/ fear and force...then meet me in Iowa and in New Hampshire and any other primary state. this war on our freedom must be addressed to the public and we must lead the charge.

RON PAUL GIRL - LIV

I SAW A LITTLE PICTURE OF HER AND SHE REMINDED ME OF A GIRL I DATED YEARS AGO. I FOLLOWED THE LINK AND SHE WAS SO CONFIDENT ABOUT RON PAUL, I SAT UP AND LISTENED TO HIM. THE FIRST RON PAUL SITE I FOUND HAD PICTURES AND DESCRIPTIONS OF THOSE THAT DONATED, AND IT GAVE ME CHILLS TO SEE THE VARIANCE OF PEOPLE. WHERE DID THAT SITE GO? I'VE BEEN PUSHING HIM EVER SINCE.

Are you talking about the rally?

http://ronpaulrally.org/ ?? (And please try to turn off CAPS LOCK!)

That rally is very cool, and it's something we can all do FOR FREE to help along with our tea party donations. Just upload a pic of yourself. In fact, meetups with a photographer and a laptop could make doing it exceptionally-easy. But everyone who reads this should try to join that rally, it's just too fun!!

I'm always impressed when I return to the RonPaulRally site just how much better-looking the average RP supporter is today than back in the 1988-run. :) Sadly, I look about the same as then, plus about 15 pounds...
JMR

In 1987

When he was first running for President as a Libertarian against Mr. Means. (Now THAT would be an interesting VP/appointee choice! Imagine a man like Russell taking over the corrupt "Bureau of Indian Affairs" with the full power to fire anyone there!) :)

first...

My father is friends with Ron Paul. He used to come deliver speaches in my grandpa's back yard while campaigning for prez in 88'. I remember him coming over for dinner one time when I was just a little guy... I was raised by Libertarians and Ron Paul has been a house-hold name my whole life. I'm so happy with what's happening here. It's already such a tremendous victory.

Saw Him...

On Arron Russo film Freedom to Fascism. Didnt put two and two together until I accidently found him via the internet ( maybe youtube? ) Been hooked ever since!!! I have been waiting for this my whole life..VIVA LA REVOLUTION !!

I don't recall exactly

I don't recall exactly "when" I heard about the good doctor, but I had just officially endorsed Fred Thompson on a financial website that I manage when my father called me and said, "ahh, okay. I like Ron Paul, but he'll never win".

I hung up the phone and asked myself, "Who is this Ron Paul dude?"

I went to his website and read eveything. I didn't want to admit it, especially because the website had just endorsed Fred, but there was a pit in my stomach - the kind of pit that convicts you when you know the truth but try to resist.

It wasn't 48 hours later that I removed all Fred Thomson links and immediately posted official Ron Paul support.

I tell everyone about Ron Paul and I have a "live" counter with the donations on the website.

Go Ron Paul!

Around five years ago

I was surfing channels and there he was talking about things that made sense.

Thanks, Internet!

I'd seen RP's name chalked on sidewalks and walls all over campus and one day I noticed a group of students walking down the main boulevard on campus with a giant Ron Paul 2008 banner. I thought to myself "Not another Republican" and I, being the so-called liberal I thought I was, wanted to heckle them but realized I didn't know anything about the man. So I, of course, googled him. After tons of reading and researching his positions, not only do I now understand that I am not actually a liber-al, but a liber-tarian, but I am also a huge Ron Paul supporter. RP08!!

A friend who e-mailed me,

A friend who e-mailed me, and a bunch of others, often about Ron Paul and the campaign.

Thanks Ben.

Just after 9/11

when a friend told me about www.lewrockwell.com. RP has regular articles posted there even to this day.

Colbert/Youtube

After work one night, I was looking up some Colbert Report videos on YouTube for laughs. His interview with Ron Paul was near the top of the list. I watched it, and I've been hooked ever since.

First heard of him through a

First heard of him through a friend in the Ann Arbor, Michigan Libertarian Party, in the fall of 1981 during my first semester of college at the University of Michigan.

Youtube

First debates, but really found out about him on youtube

My friend on myspace

had Ron Paul as his top friend so I asked him who Ron Paul was. I checked out his web site, googled him and watched youtube videos. What sold me was how enthusiastic his supporters were and still are based on comments via myspace and other sites. I'm hooked now and my wife is also voting for him. We've got several more people to vote for him and are working on more.

1988. I somehow heard he was

1988.

I somehow heard he was in opposition to the unconstitutional, illegal, immoral, insane war on drugs.

So I voted for him in 1988.

I think I read about him and the Libertarian Party in an alternative newspaper in Madiosn, Wisconsin.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for James Madison.

On my internet health list.

Husband and I were discussing about poor choices this presidential election. Someone mentioned him on my list and I googled him been sold since. In all my voting career never had any politician with the integrity, honesty, voting record etc. Ron Paul is the man!!!
