My appointment w/US Rep (pending)

I signed up for a one-on-one meeting with my local congressional representative and I have a question; he hasn't signed on as a HR 1207 - 282 co-sponsor, any suggestions on how to approach him on the topic? A pro-Obama health care organization provided the opportunity, but I have more than health care on my mind. » |

Previously I had a poor opinion of him based on the notion his seat was practically a throne pass on by his long-serving father. However he did reply to a letter of mine questioning his support of nuclear power over the creation of a consumer-owner solar power grid. Said opinion is open to modification, depending on the outcome of this meeting.

"As an elected representative you have taken on the mantle of public servant, you have taken an oath to defend the constitution of the united States of America and to faithfully represent the desires of your constituents. Why have you not yet signed as a co-sponser of HR 1207 since I, for one, as part of your constituents have asked you to dutifully support? Do you feel that it is necessary for a representative to suspend his/her own opinion to properly represent the opinions of his/her constituents. If yes, then again, why have you not supported HR 1207 as I've directed you? And if not, then please explain to me how, as a public servant, you have authority to disregard the mandate of your mantle and the orders of your constituents?
We must get in the habit of remiding representatives that they are OUR servants, not the other way around. Their position is to dutifully represent us, not have us dutifully aquiesce to their desires. If they continue on this path then we must pull them from office and replace them with individuals who will filfill the responsibilities of the position of public servant. It is time to right the ship and return to the people the power of government, not leave their governing in the hands of their dubious servants.
