I might be suspicious of the sources and their intentions but they are still providing a valuable commodity.

I think that RTV will cling onto anything that paints the USG in a less-than-favorable light while most of the US media either; a) won't touch a story because they don't understand it, or b) a story is deemed too "unAmerican" to cover.

I think RTV covers some stories that grasp our interest because we know everything is not a bucket of rose pedals. I don't think it's that different from how The Guardian covered political stories in the Bush years.

If they cover truths...that is nice...motive don´t matter...

I was thinking the same thing a couple of days ago about propaganda from a country who would like to see the dimming of our country. It is ironic that we are getting news from Russia that is more truthful than from our own media.

Of course Russia Today, or more precisely the Russian government, has ulterior motives when playing pieces that touch on topics in America. No channel in the world is pure. Every news source in existence has to have some editorial bias.

The Russian government wants to weaken the current government of the US, which has been creeping ever closer to the Russian border and has been aligned with "the oligarchs" since the end of the Cold War. We also want to weaken the current US government, though for different reasons. Like us, they realize that the most powerful weapon against an empire of lies is the truth.

Russia Today may broadcast crap about the US outside of its programming on the truth and freedom movement. I don't know since I've only watched the clips talking about us. Their coverage of this movement has been the best of any network in the world, with no close second. I'd be astonished if they covered their domestic news as honestly as I've seen them cover US news. I don't really care how they cover their domestic news. Russia is for the Russians. As long as they don't try to attack the mainland US, or hurt our citizens, I couldn't care less about what their intentions are in broadcasting honest coverage of our movement.

Given some of the content I have seen on these Russian TV news pieces, they are definitely providing a service that the corporatist "American" media is extremely lacking in.

Aside from the facts of the matter, I will let others speculate.
