John Mackey (Whole Foods CEO) on Obamacare

There's 100% pure Free-Market Theory and then there is "pragmatic this is the world we are currently in" alternatives.

John opens with a quote from Margaret Thatcher:

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out
of other people's money."

John Mackey deserves a Daily Paul "digg" for his ideas and "nicely put" alternative to ObamaCare -- it's rooted and riddled with individualist / anti-tax theory. I bet he's a closeted Ron Paul supporter.

Mackey's Words of Wisdom

I have family and a lot of friends working in Whole Foods and I can tell you they run it like a cross between an Austrian / Collectivist business format -- a lot of that has to do with costs / taxation / regulation that can't be avoided (in the real world). I have no doubt that if Mackey had his druthers he'd rather run it from a free-market perspective.

His competitive drive is legendary, hahahaha. He's fiercly anti-union and short of how "he must" run his business on that note I call him "brother" (all other disagreences aside).

Bump for common sense and

Bump for common sense and free market enterprise.

"Rather than increase government spending and control, we need to address the root causes of poor health. This begins with the realization that every American adult is responsible for his or her own health."

Bump for those who haven't read this great article,

it was posted a couple days ago, that's probably why it's not getting so much play today.

He sounds like a Ron Paul Republican!

Talking about the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and free markets! I'll bet he IS!

Great article, thank you.

It's amazing to me that this got "no play"

"more people need to speak out"

Here's a CEO that got "reamed" for saying this -AND- we don't put this on the front page.

John Mackey is a pioneer and innovator -- anti-union -- and just came out making a nearly 100% Ron Paul rant on the negativity of Obama-care and it gets "no play here"
