USA Today Dietitian Recommends Eating McDonalds, KFC, Taco Bell And Burger King On The Today Show (VIDEO)

For the record, scrambled eggs at McDonalds, which one could easily mistake for being comprised of well, eggs, actually contain the following:

Pasteurized whole eggs with sodium acid pyrophosphate, citric acid and monosodium phosphate (added to preserve color), nisin (preservative). Prepared with Liquid Margarine: Liquid soybean oil, water, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, salt, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, soy lecithin, mono-and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color).

Now this is American ..Go out & indulge like a free people.
GOD created FAT for a reason.
It's not all bad ,like the spirit of anti christ wants you to believe.
naughty, naught

All crap except that Organic

All crap except that Organic valley milk. We have that at our local organic section. Kinda surprised they put that in there. Perfect chance to give kids some growth hormones and pus in the milk.

I don't know...

...it may be dangerous to your health to eat these junk foods, but you've got to consider the health of the collective. What would happen to our economy, our country, hell, our entire culture, if these companies went out of business. (Not to mention the bottom line at MSNBC if these advertisers backed out of their campaigns).

We can't let them fail...they're too big!

Can you live with the destruction of the world on your conscience, you naysayer, you?

Let's see here:

Pasteurized whole eggs with sodium acid pyrophosphate,

Pasteurized eggs with a color preservative--why not use just plain regular eggs?

citric acid and monosodium phosphate (added to preserve color),

Monosodium phosphate is a laxative. Citric acid nowadays can be from GMO sources.

nisin (preservative).

a milk-based fermented peptide antibacterial to preserve shelf life

Prepared with Liquid Margarine: Liquid soybean oil,

SMO soy and a phytoestrogen that can cause hormone imbalances

water,

form where and filtered how?

partially hydrogenated soybean oil,

anything partially hydrogenated is bad for your health and causes internal damage

salt,

If it's not sea salt, it's probably laced with sodium aluminum hydroxide, a know Alzheimer's contributor.

hydrogenated cottonseed oil,

Again, hydrogenated, not good.

soy lecithin,

MSG, derived from GMO soy

mono-and diglycerides,

emulsifiers to allow the oils and water to mix, often from soy products or canola, both mainly GMO now.

sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives),

Sodium benzoate is a preservative that stops bacteria and fungi from reproducing, but when coupled with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) can produce benzene, a known carcinogen.

Potassium sorbate is a yeast and mold inhibitor.

artificial flavor,

Could be anything from MSG to urea to anything in between.

citric acid,

Could come from GMO corn or soy

vitamin A palmitate,

vitamin A derived from palm oil, which is high in saturated fats, but also a large natural source of dietary magnesium and vitamin K.

beta carotene (color).

probably from carrots.

The thing to note here is the preservatives and GMOs to preserve shelf life and prevent toxic growths--both indicate that the food is not fresh nor very healthy.

A much healthier alternative is to simply use real eggs cooked in a butter.coconut oil mix (all organic, of course).

But you'll never see McDonalds do that, either.

Great information!

Except I would disagree about the palm oil being bad for health because it is high in saturated fats. Coconut oil is also a saturated fat but it is arguably the healthiest oil out there. I think people are being misled in general about saturated fats by being told they are horrible for health when the right ones really are the key to health and keeping an appropriate weight. But thanks for all the info - this is very helpful! So hard to avoid these things, sadly...they are in everything it seems.

now that obamacare advocates are protesting Whole Foods

maybe they can now justify eating at these places, instead. =)

when their poor nutrition lands all of them in a hospital, of course, they will point this as more proof why obamacare was the solution, after all.

This is one circus that I have avoided since my first rawfood

"fast" when I was 14 years old, thanks to my uncle Bill, man of wisdom.

I want Insurance for my lifestyle , not change my lifestyle to suit others..TO change my lifestyle, would be to join a co-op. I would already get a huge premium deduction if I were now in a co-op instead of Insured..
Take my premium but change the game ?..This way you can pay for past failed policies instead of admitting your mistake.
I already paid for my Insurance premium through out my employment ..Now they want me to join a co-op I should not need ..They took my money for years ..They owe me big time..

Cheetos taste good to, wow, styrofoam and salt.

Ever wonder why the list of ingredients claim "no nutritonal value"
Science creates styofoam by heating and "whipping" a petroleum by product.
Vegetable oil when cooked and whipped also becomes a plastic.
Oil is oil, eh?

GMO veggie oils that are extracted using solvents

and then are whipped and 'baked' become these 'puffs' which are then dowsed in unsavory cheese powder and more GMO oils and table salt. Just the thing if you want to kill people.

They are using techniques on people to 'bait' them and then kill them just like some do with rats and ants.

Based upon all the data they take in at some data bank, they are sure to know what kind of person would eat a certain type of food. They cannot help but know that.

Whats with all the hate?

When I travel these are the only _practical_ choices available. I found this very informative.
Think about it. How often do you take a road trip? Is it really going to make you sick or kill you if you eat fast food in an informed and controlled manner? You are more likely to get food poisoning packing your own food and having it spoil.
So using huffpo's logic, anyone that eats fast food even once a year is going to seriously harm their health, and hurt children in the process.
This is the same BS that had coconut oil removed from movie theatre popcorn. Who goes to the movies every day? I seriously doubt anyone was ever harmed by eating the best tasting popcorn a couple time a year.

Aren't there bigger problems that this negative energy would be better directed?

On road trips, I make special note to visit quality farms and

and or purchase produce from markets along the way.
Being a rawfooder is awesome. You're never hungary or out of food.
A watermelon will keep for two weeks no problem. Oranges another great traveler.
I've made long ocean passages with racks of bananas, pineapples, papayas and coconuts.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

USA Today

I didn't even have to read past that. USA Today should be free, being that it's practically an advertising rag for the corporate NWO

Shows how useless licensure is. A registered dietician pointing people to Taco Bell. Granted, I can rock some Taco Bell occasionally but in no way do I consider it healthy.

Want to eat healthy on the road? Pack your food.

I thought Taco Bell might be the most healthy,

but during the mid 70's, I ate there often, almost exclusively, and my body smelled like a burrito, and resulted in indigestion and mucus build up. Headaches and no energy included for free. It is not a healthy diet.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Well,

I read all of the comments before watching the video. I was all ready to get angry while watching the clip but all I did was burst out laughing. It was such a blatant advertisement for the fast food and processed food industry. The Onion would have a hard time topping this. I think I'll watch it again .......... Ok, I just finished watching it and cracked up again. This video is the gift that keeps on giving. Second thought, may The Onion should give it a shot.

I suppose the important thing is to keep below the 2000 (empty) calorie mark. ;)

Every time I ate (years ago)

Every time I ate (years ago) at BK my gums would bleed. Never went back. Couple of years ago tried a cheeseburger at Wendy's and my throat and chest constricted. Never went back. Now I do all my own cooking using unprocessed food (as close to the farmer as I can get). Better food, less cost and more nutrition. I'd much prefer to support local small farmers than megacorp chemfarms in Mexico and elsewhere.

PS: I acquired at auction a professional ten burner two oven gas range. It was so inexpensive I'm tickled every time I use it to teach myself to gourmet cook from scratch in cast iron and SS cookware. It's a blast being self-sufficient!

Me too.I just went a little further and just peel it and eat it.

Very sensual. Unmatched energy.

today show sucks but...

Come on guys, be fair. All of these meals were about 500 calories or less. Yes they are loaded with all kinds of artificial gunk, but compare that with what many of the Today show's typical viewers probably eat at McDonalds for breakfast

McDonald's Deluxe Breakfast
1,360 calories
64 g fat (22 g saturated)
2,325 mg sodium
160 g carbs
49 g sugars

Or look at these lunch combos -
http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2002-09-30-foo...
Not one of them is less than 1200 calories.

I think the segment could have included food from Subway, but it was better than most of the other crap they have on the Today Show. BTW, I'm on a weight loss diet (eating about 500 calories less than my daily maintenance level), and I will often get a 6" wheat double chicken breast sandwich from subway with 480 calories. I know it's not the best for me, but it fits into my caloric profile needs, and it's been working.

Don't believe it!

Some of that stuff is just this side of poison due to the processing and to the fact that they aren't organic.

Maybe the banana is okay.

Yuck, yuck, yuck.

LOL

I've lived in third world countries, and I lost weight like crazy yet I still ate A TON of food.

It's hard to believe that a diet of processed fast food is healthy no matter what.

This blows me away.

I'll bet she and her team worked on this for months in order to find meals that kind of passed for nutrition. They know that even with these few simple choices the American population could not stick to something like this for more then 3 days, if they were walking in to fast food joints being bombarded with the latest mucho grande mega sized super delicious temptation.

Give me a break.

Oh and her message seemed to be protein and milk, protein and milk, protein and milk. Unless you are exerting yourself all day you should be careful to over consume protein and milk. It is no wonder we rank at the top as far as breast and prostate cancer. It is good for Big Pharma though.

If you don't believe me start with this http://www.cancerproject.org/survival/cancer_facts/prostate_...

Sorry if I come across as someone who is pissed off at the propaganda I have been fed. I have had to give myself over 100k of insulin injections for the last 32 years based on a steroid I received when I was 15. It eventually led me to the understanding I have today about how controlled we are based on profit and we really are in the matrix. I only wish I knew then what I do now.

Please take care of yourselves and don't let them capitalize on your demise, society needs you to set things straight.

Super post.

Yes, it seems to be to

Yes, it seems to be to implant the message that "you can get healthy food at McDonalds, Burger King, or Wendy's." That gets you in the door. Then the huge sign for the 1/3lb Angus Burger - taller than most people (have you seen it?) overwhelms the hungry stomach.

Mission accomplished.

He's the man.

Exactly

And they know it.

Don't care what she said

And I don't care if McD and BK food are good or bad for your health. I just can't stand the calorie police enforcing the calorie count posted on the menu board. It drives me nuts reading so much numbers on the board. Just wait until someone sues McD for selling a burger that is 100 calories less than what it posts on the board.

to be fair

shes just suggesting road trip meals on the go (wonder how much she was sponsored to do this?)

but she forgot Subway and their $5 dollar footlong deal... dumass

Try a rawfood pizza, FrozenPie.

The only reason Subway is better, is because you are eating less.
