What the TIP TAX ENDEAVOR Needs!!
Dr. Paul has introduced a bill (H.R.3664) to stop taxing tips given to waiters/waitresses and other service folks.
There are 14 million waiters/waitresses across the nation and every one of them can be turned into Ron Paul supporters.
With your help!
First, we need a top-notch computer wizard to create an alphanumeric sorting program.(or perhaps several wizards working together!) If you are one or know one who would be willing to help please contact me at hayden@pacific.net !!
The phone call, e-mail effort very much needs to be coordinated in order to prevent redundant duplication of contact.
Secondly, we need worker bees. If you have unlimited long distance calling, wonderful! There are folks just like you making calls as I type this. But most people reading this don't have that service. What they do have however, is a phone, a computer, their yellow pages and the willingness to make some local calls and send some e-mails. Are you house bound and can't pound the pavement for Paul?? You can help! How many calls?? Your choice. 10,... 20,... 50? You pick the number. "Many hands make little work!" Obviously we need many, many hands.

So far a waste of time. I've called and emailed individuals in the national office and they are not responding.
I could use someone who would check the NRA website daily to see if they have posted the bill on their legislative/lobbying page.
But they have the information.
Maybe we need to bomb them with emails and suggest that restaurant employees do the same.
I think you might have to have a paid membership just to email them through their web site.
So maybe a deluge of phone calls would get things rocking.

People who work for tips like the idea of tips being Tax Free!
And they will donate, vote and pass the word to their friends in the business.
For example: the other day, when I paid my bill at the restaurant, I handed the waiter my money, plus a good tip, plus a Tax Free Tips Act of 2007 card (I print up Tax Free Tips Act and Ron Paul info on perf-out business card blanks, some people print out the Tax Free Tips Act "guest check").
He looked at it, nodded and thanked me. He came back in a few minutes with a big smile and said that it was really cool, he showed it to the other waiters and all of them are interested. And that he would pass the word and that "this is a great thing to do."
So if you're not into calling and talking to people, and some people aren't comfortable doing that, you can at least hand out Ron Paul information with your tip. Give it to servers, bartenders, cabbies, pizza delivery dudes, anyone else you tip. Something like this is so easy. I like the business cards because they're small. They fit in a pocket, wallet or purse without getting dog-eared. I feel like Johnny Appleseed. It's not a hard sell. You're just dropping seeds. It gives them enough information and incentive to go to the website for more information. If you're going out anyway, you might as well spread the word.

I always have slim jims on the front seat in case I have to go to a drive thru place. I ask if they want the IRS to stop taking taxes out of their paycheck - They always say, "Yes".
Then I just give them 6 slim jims and tell them to tell all of their friends.

Making 14 million people Aware ...
.....of a bill before congress,introduced by RP, that will benefit their pocketbook accomplishes three things.
1. If all 14 mil. call or e-mail their representative, congress will have a difficult time ignoring this bill!
2. Since RP introduced this bill, its passage will generate a lot of RP publicity. No, I don't mean MSM publicity (although that will probably happen too!) I mean the waitress at the local coffee shop pouring your second cup saying, "How about that Ron Paul! Got them to stop taxing our tips. Sure like THAT guy!" ....THAT's PUBLICITY!
3. Who does anyone vote for? The candidate that the voter is convinced will benefit them the most.
With passage of this bill will waiters/waitresses kick in five bucks? 14 million times 5 = 70 million.

When I used to work for Brown Brothers Harriman Co. we provided working capital to restaurants.
I did business with hundreds of restaurants in D.C. Baltimore, Virginia, NYC
Because of this exposure I learned that many restaurateurs were involved in politics either by donating or contributing services for donor events.
Restaurants in many cases in big cities are part of the political infrastructure.
In fact at one place in particular, I was searched on several occassions by Secret Service staff because there were members of Congress and/or the Senate meeting there.
But this is just one aspect.
As Hayden said, these are hard working staff that will take action and contribute, campaign and pressure Congress.

Ron Paul has submiitted a bill to stop taxing gratuities (tips)! The problem is MOST of the waiters/waitresses don't know about it. What Freedom Now is calling for is an organized and coordinated effort to make those hard working people aware this bill, get them to flood congress with phone calls and e-mails calling for passage. Can congress ignore 14 million people?? Can we afford to NOT create 14 million potential Ron Paul supporters?
