Just went to my congressman's town hall meeting
Just got home from my Congressman's town-hall meeting. I didn't stay for the entire thing as he was not actually doing any speaking - he was only answering pre-asked questions.
The People's Republic of Boulder (Colorado) is in favor of Obama's health care reform and overwhelmingly agree for single-payer.
As the crowd started chanting "What Do We Want -- Single Payer ; When do we want it -- Now" I was booing and arguing with the crowd that we were $10 trillion in debt and more government regulation wasn't going to help. They said that we would all pay for health care, not the government. I argued who was going to pay for the health care of the people who are lazy and just want to sit on the couch all day. I told them we would all pay and the government would pay for those individuals, but people didn't care. They only yelled back 'single-payer'.
I was severely out-numbered, like 100-1, but I tried.
Boulder Colorado is extremely liberal and in general favors socialism.

Never give up, never give up...never, never, never...
Trick will be to reach the young who have not yet been indoctrinated.
It is best to reach people one at a time. No point in confronting a crowd.
