Submitted by tog2476 on Wed, 08/19/2009 - 22:41It is the first time, I ever saw the quote in my life, but it speaks volumes for what we have right now. If we worry about what party we are going to take over, or what types of people are in the patriot movement, or we worry about how they will see us and label us as people, we are going to fizzle out, period. We need to focus on important goals, and devote our energy toward results withing our reach. Do you really think we can say o.k. everyone we are shifting over to the libertarian party, so patriots, follow us, and woolah, it happens.
I don't think in a million years that will happen. It does not matter what party we are in or what our beliefs are beyond The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Declaration of Independence. Beyond that, nothing is relevant. We have not been punched out of a cookie cutter, and if the movement stays so small that we can all join one political party, we are fizzled.
We want to be in every political party, in every belief system, in every conspiracy theory group, everywhere. We want to completely saturate the system, and if we become rigid in our direction, we will snap like a twig eventually. We must rally behind actions that will gain us ground. If we all become libertarians, what does that do for us? But, if we all backed a money bomb, or the daily phone/fax bomb for HR1207 or S604, that will make a difference.
Thinking in terms of groups or types of people and how they think or what they believe is confining ourselves to an end, which is what we don't want. We want this to grow and take over every possible person we can. Let's go for the details, and not the distractions. I say our first priority is the Fed, the Fed is the taproot, that kills the rest of the tree!!

For me it was another one of those sparks Ernest mentioned in the video. I didn't like the geezer comment in the beginning however. I almost clicked off at that point. It's good that I stuck it out until the end. You're right, that quote is a keeper!

I find that young people (the more intelligent ones) who are about voting age can't get enough thruthing. A few Smedley Butler sea stories, how the dollar is worth nothing and America is broke usually gets their attention.

Absolutely, this is a great point... This movement has to go beyond parties, beyond a particular issue (although the FED is the key focus for now)...
I go to a lot of socialist meetings, because I feel it is smart to understand my enemy, one of the main enemies being the Marxist-Leninist movement worldwide and I try to weigh in the flaws and benefits to their design...
Some of the perks we should adopt but not in the same way is the fact that the liberty movement is not isolated to the United States, it is linked to any country that is ruled by a repressive, despotic government. This is an international movement, and of course this does NOT mean globalism or support of a one world government, but instead that anyone who craves freedom is here!
Secondly, we must find a way to link up our various organizations around the countries, then the states, then the cities, communities... We must create meetup groups to discuss and understand how Communists and the majority of society are indoctrinated into a belief system that is leading us to the path of destruction, just like the weaving paths cows taking at the slaughterhouse... It is a just a nice peaceful line of cows until you reach the end of the line and they realize that the blood and cries of suffering are seeping out the doors of the slaughterhouse, then of course it is far too late to turn back...

I have tried to convey this a few times...
AH we are a bunch of rebels, anarchists, and authoritarian haters, not to mention skeptical and cynical. You would be absolutely crazy to think you could direct this in any way, shape, or form. All actions must be completely voluntary and I think that makes it all that much more genuine.

The R3volution has proven we don't need herding. Even with all of our disagreements, we are a force to be reckoned with. After the election, some wondered if DP would quietly disappear. It seems like people pop in and out more often, but DP still attracts new visitors and the opportunity to learn about the Constitution and liberty is ongoing. The message has now become mainstream. Positively a wonderful post!
