Libertarian gives her health care perspective to CNN

Debbie Schum, Delta County, Colorado Libertarian Party chair, gave her perspective on health care reform on CNN after attending the White House's press event in Grand Junction. Schum, a small businessperson, shares with CNN's host the concerns of millions of Americans about the rising costs, plummeting quality, restrictions on access and rationing that are hallmarks of government-controlled health care.

I am really getting tired of this sh*t. The politicians and the

media keep saying that our health care system is broken.
I have no health insurance--I become ill, I look in the yellow pages find a doctor, make an appointment and go see the doctor. The doctor cures my illness by prescribing medicines that I purchase at the pharmacy of my choice.I pay the doctor and the pharmacy for their services.
A derilict drunk illegal alien becomes ill- he or someone call EMS. He`s taken to the emergency room at the hospital, treated for his illiness and released without paying anything. I understand that part of what I paid for my illiness probably paid for a portion of the derelits cost. I also pay property tax which has a portion for county hospital in the tax bill.
Now how do we need billions of $ more so that the "broken system" can be managed by beaurocrats in DC ?

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

It was nice to see

It wsa nice to see the commentator come back to her... although initially it seemed like he was scolding her.

In hindsight, would it be congruent to pose the following question...

"I 'need' a vehicle to travel to and from my employment... why are the people sitting next to me so greedy that they won't buy me a car?

I'll tell you why. It is because it is not their responsibility to provide me or my family a vehicle.

The same case can be made for Insurance. It is not their responsibility to provide for my family. It is only mine."
