Greenpeace Leader Admits Arctic Ice Exaggeration

Whenever you hear anyone talk of climate change, the environment, global waming, or anything else like this...remember...

The mechanisms at work are still far beyond our comprehension...the world is still simply too big and complicated for us to understand. Our climate is a complex set of interactions beginning with the sun and ending with the very core of the Earth. We have barely begun to scratch the surface of Earth, and we have no clue what the sun is going to do.

In time, we are going to be able to get a grasp on it. Probably in my lifetime. It's going to take a very powerful computer able to simulate every factor in play, and then we'll be able to understand what's going on. Once we do, it will be pretty easy to clean up damage we've done. If we want to remove CO2 from the atmosphere, it's pretty easy to do. I calculated once that 20,000 sequestration pumps in the ocean could cut our atmospheric CO2 levels in half in less than 100 years. First, we must find out if it's a good idea though.

Even the span of human history is nothing compared to the cycles our planet goes through. We've got a few thousand years of recorded history, but climates run in hundred thosand year cycles. Based on where we are in the current cycle...it's more probable that we're headed for some severe global cooling very soon.

Perhaps all of these greenhouse gasses we're emitting are saving us from an ice age...ever consider that?

The best answer to environmentalism is to get realistic. Don't try to convince me to ride my bike 45 miles to work...better to go after the obvious ones first. Don't throw your trash everywhere, don't dump nasty chemicals, get smokestacks to remove more toxins, don't use dynamite to fish in coral reefs (yes, they actually do that).

Once we learn to stop doing the obvious stuff to not screw up this planet...then we can move to the harder jobs.
