Ron Paul opposes amnesty for illegals, but look what he(we)are up againstSubmitted by theone77 on Fri, 08/21/2009 - 00:25
As we all know, Ron Paul(and his son Rand)oppose any form of amnesty for illegals aliens, but it looks like it will be a tough fight stopping Obama from passing comprehensive Immigration reform(aka amnesty coupled with weak and ineffective/insufficient enforcement measures).
Janet Napolitano had a white house meeting today with law enforcement, business, labor organizations, the interfaith community, advocacy groups and others. Most attending the meeting were big well-funded backers of amnesty(aka path to citizenship; giving citizenship to illegal aliens). No prominent voices that were on record as being firmly opposed to giving citizenship to illegal aliens(the American Legion comes to mind as one example of a strongly anti-amnesty group that should have been allowed to send a representative to attend the meeting) were invited to the meeting(what a surprise). The deck was heavily stacked by large/wealthy organization who are pushing for amnesty.
The reported list of attendees is here at this link:
For those interested in the American Legion's position on this issue, and what they might have had to say at this meeting, here is the link
And for some info on one of the organizations that attended this meeting(La Raza), check this link
And in the above link, during a townhall meeting, whether or not illegal aliens would be covered in the healthcare bill, the senator/congressman speaking said no. But according to this link below, illegal aliens will currently be able to take advantage of it
