U.S./Ohio Farm Wars Rage. Do something now.

Animal Farm 2009
STOP Federal and State Control of Small Farms

Get your Hot Button here to spread around the internet.

Command Operations Centers have been established in Ohio
and are launching offensive strikes to defeat Animal Care and Feed Laws directed at all U.S. small farms, now in Ohio.

This is a national issue and is a grand deception.

We just added a live, real time monitoring page where you can see the cities and towns being hit with this information and hopefully enlisting ground support!

so glad

you posted this, I have it on my website about the issues on the November 3rd ballot and I've already come out and said I would vote no on 2, the link helps my position, thanks!

The material has been

updated. All small farm sustainable organizations and members will be voting no. The HOT BUTTON is really nifty. These laws may be coming to your state soon (they are actually in the works, in part)

double bump!

for a priority posting!

betty

Difference is being made

Difference is being made Augie. I hear local radio hesitant now where he was all for a 'yes' vote and more 'no' on email lists. Just hope it's not too late. I hope to do door hangers for my neighborhood day before vote.

Just gave an Update

Would like to get feedback here or there. This is getting very serious.

You know Augie, I was just thinking today,

About how everything natural to life, is a filtering thing. Water flows licked by mosses and ionized to action bouncing across rocks, live water.
From microbes, to street cleaners, we filter out toxins.
We as a society need these filtering things of nature, that will even absorb poisons and toxins as adult things, but they have to grow from a fragile beginning, and this beginning is very affected by toxins.
Because toxins distort things. It distorts the infant nurturing of lets say, bacteria in soil, or a blade of grass.
We do not allow nature to nurture it's young so to speak, and this includes the smallest of things, especially.
Bees are a good example.
We need our planet to filter itself, nor should we turn our regions into deserts from misuse. Seaweeds, landweeds and trees.
I remember, just seventy years ago, there were no mono crop intensive industrial farming. We fed the world just fine, provided by the small family farmer. And as far as foriegn policy goes, for every oil well drilled, we could have drilled a water well for the small family farmers, and gained their respect.
Respecting the small family farmer, and pay attention to his battle.
Because he looks out for the little things, and even gives them names. Wouldn't you? All the small family farmers I have spoken with are cool, calm and collected, and take pride in their work.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Oh they are calm alright

thats why they are so good to work with also.

I liked the colorful produce on the site's landing page.

"All citizens should have the right to provide healthy, farm fresh food to their family, friends and private members in their own home without having to get official government approval or have it deemed a criminal activity.”

Small farmers should somehow be enabled to make a comfortable living.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

There is now available

a Hot Button logo to spread around on National Animal Care and Feeding laws.

From Ohio

appreciate info

Light and refreshing way of respecting animals and message.

And the raggae music was up beat . . . good stuff.
Animals have families.
Small family farmers are the true stewards of the lands.

Good to see you on this

Good to see you on this Augie! Here's a great site explaining the constitutional dangers of this issue. The supporters/agribusiness are drooling over the prospect of passing this. They are hitting hard with robo-calls and expensive mailers. Yes, the small, local farmers would likely be wiped out. Some suspect it is a trojan horse, back door NAIS, etc. This is a first of it's kind in the nation and other states are watching to follow along, Michigan for one.

Yes

The Ohio Act site seems to be the clearinghouse on the issue. There are many farming orgs against this.

Yesterday, I heard from four org reps, plus had a statewide telecon w/ this being brought up. All are coming together fast against it

Very refreshing and upbeat ragga bounce vedio 4min

Very important that we understand animals have families.
Cleaning up the pollutions alone, just in plastics alone . . . the real challenge for mankind. How about poisons on the soil and on everything and in every water, well isn't that weapons of mass destruction!
Small family farmers are the true stewards of the lands.

farm wars ,,, funny but real ...

If we stopped feeding cattle grain and stopped eating so much meat we could feed a lot more peole healthy food cut heart disease and etc and generally things would do well.. funny but real

we need to

all put together netwroks to get this out. It is not so much eating too much meat at all-- the methods of production need to change--including grass fed. But they want to take that also
http://wholefoodusa.wordpress.com

and that my friend,

is why we raise longhorn and scotch highlander, they are the real deal and have never been altered with other types of cattle. Great foragers just like goats, and their meat is more lean and lower in cholesterol than skinless chicken breast. Much like buffalo was/is for our native American friends and ancestors. If I ever spread out on some more acreage and have the money for good fences I will also be throwing some bison in the mix.

No grain, no shots, no hormones, no buckets o' protein, no wormer, no nothing..just grass fed beef. mmm mmm good.

Update Tonight!

The farm wars are becoming intense the last two days!

Yes . . .

UPDATE Tonight

Bump it and share it.
Orwellian Award for Ohio is coming in Oct

What a trip.

I'm in the middle of reading Animal Farm. How about we all starve to death so we can build a giant windmill for Obama?
This book really is a must read.

I can post the Animal Farm cartoon

but it is 2 hours long-- anyone know a short version?

http://wholefoodusa.wordpress.com

Most hilarious

yet the move might be correct. I am not sure yet.
http://wholefoodusa.wordpress.com

The farmers are showing courage and business reality.

People around the world do demand wholesome foods.

I brought this comment up from below:
http://wholefoodusa.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/the-spiritual-m...

The Spiritual Meaning of Natural Food

Everyone loves food–but there is far more to it than the titillations of all of our senses and the filling of our stomachs.

Food and drink connect us all; it is music to the soul—the universal language. There is a spiritual significance to the growing, harvesting, proper preparation and eating of food—even the soil, seed and plant.

Coming soon!

This comment sums it up for me . . .

I went to the website to confirm the number of farmers on The Board and there would be 3 out of 12 members. That’s 25% which in any mathematical system is a small minority. Since the Board’s purpose is to protect farmers why not have everyone be a farmer?
Their claim that they’re going to protect us farmers from “out-of-state activists” with
regulations is pure rubbish. Have the temerity
to tell intrusive elements from outside of Ohio
to hit the road. The State of Ohio is after all a
legal governing entity.
Like everything else these days, it’s more lies
sold on the back of alarm.
