Ron Paul is our Moses, but who is our Joshua? Dr. Paul cannot lead us to the promised land
I'm not trying to upset anyone, but I'm trying to be realistic. Ron Paul is told old to have a successful run for President in 2012. He will be around 78 or so and will have no chance based on age alone. His ideas are timeless and he has and continues to inspire millions of people. He has shown us the way, but we need to find the man or woman who can take us to the "promised land." Sorry for the biblical analogy, but it seemed appropriate.
I think we are wasting energy and resources on trying to get Ron Paul to be the liberty candidate for President in 2012. My question is who will carry the Ron Paul torch/message forward and has any chance of bringing a victory to Ron Paul's vision?
If we focus on Ron Paul, the man, and not his ideas I think we are all setting ourselves up for a huge disappointment, a candidate like Romney, a second term of Obama and more tyranny then we will know what to do with.
It is exciting to see liberty candidates popping up everyday it seems running for congress and hopefully some will win and slowly make a change, but who is going to be the main face?
I watched an interview with Paul Ryan today and was very impressed. Mike Pence is another one that I think is a free thinker. If we don't unite and find our "Joshua" we will have another Republican primary of Huckabee, Romney, Palin, Newt and maybe Hannity now. Same tired names and ideas.
What are your thoughts? Suggestions on candidates? Does anyone thing Dr. Paul's age will not be an issue?

Ron Paul would not be "too old." Even a short time with RP as president would be better than 8 years of any other. If Ron Paul was to pass while in office I am certain that he will have everything sorted out so that we have an appropriate line of succession.

ron paul already knows this, in fact when i figured it out (the truth of the matter), ron paul just confirmed it for me, and illustrated in so many of his speeches on how it ties into EVERYTHING.

What I really don't get is why you feel the need to be a pompous ass and talk down to me and marginalize new supporters. I was hoping for an honest discussion on possible presidential candidates for 2012. If you don't feel it matters who the president is, fine. Make your point, but to try avoid being an ass in the process.

So do must people think the answer of our "Joshua" (a winning
presidential candidate) is not currently within the Republican party? Besides the good the doctor I can only think of a few Republicans who I would be interested in knowing more about and as far as independents, while I love Chuck Baldwin, the Libertarian and Constitution parties do not seem to be able to come together. The time is right for a third party, but we are all such idealists (me included) we can't mobilize towards a united cause. Do we have names? Is it the Republican party or third party?
I see a few people; Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, Gary Johnson, Jesse Ventura, I'm sure I'm missing someone, who else?
I feel the liberty is movement is going in so many different directions and is not organized and I think that is how the elites want us. Divided. For me, where am I going to find a pro-life/anti abortion, anti death penalty, non interventionalist towards foreign policy, anti fed, pro legalize some drugs, but not at all, pro gay civil union, but anti government involvement in any marriage, and more respect given to our Christian heritage as a nation? The candidate doesn't exist, but I'm willing to give on some things so we can make fundamental change and return to constitutional government. Sorry for the rant. I'm not even sure what point is anymore, so I'll stop. Peace.

Ron Paul is not a "leader" by any stretch of the word -- he abdicates all "leadership" and focuses on his "real" role which is to be an 'educator'
Not that he does not fulfill the "minimum" of leadership needed to stay elected as a function Texas Congressman.
I hate to argue from authority, but I have friends who work directly with him and he has no traits of "top down" leadership -- he is the sweetest most non-forceful man to work for.
He is the "least" which is why he's the "most" -- He is truly Saintly in many regards.
Humilitary is the speed at which you submit to truth -- Ron Paul is Yoda in this regard, hahaha. Looks are deceiving -- he's spry.
Self-Rule cannot be abdicated to a Leader who you expect to fight to give it back to you -- That's a Cicular Reference Error, smile.

it is a requirement for political change to occur.
Human nature is such that most people are followers. they can work in a factory their entire work life in that same place. Live in the same house have the same friends and die feeling fulfilled.
But other can't stay in the same place. They need to move around. My Brother in law has never left his hometown. Never been on a plain. Has no desire to. Can't imagine why anyone would.
That is a follower. Followers are not dynamic and will not capture the passions of the public. But he may certainly be captured by a charismatics passion and follow. That is just the way of human nature.
That is why I mention Scott Ritter. Because he says and believes the things that Ron Paul says. But he says with a strong voice with a passion that riles the people which is what is needed for any movement to succede.
Ron is not too old, especially with Senator Rand Paul at his VP.

Then we need tp pick wisely and it has to be someone with
CHARISMA as well as the right ideals. Without Charisma there is no winning. Charisma can not be faked. If you have it you are born with it.
A charismatic person is a strong speaker, a born leader someone who will spark the passions in people.
I believe Ron Paul is such a person. But if Ron Paul becomes too old then I would suggest Scott Ritter.
Watch him talk, not only does he believe in what he is saying but he evokes passion because he has charisma and people listening feel it too.

the true Liberty candidate will announce that RP will be the Sec.of State in charge of ALL foreign policy.

He's more well spoken, can debate better and has that Presidential appeal. He's not wanting to go to the Senate to stop at Senator. He wants to be President. Remember that Obama became President after a two year stint as Senator. The Schiff Senate election is the most important of all.

Gotta read between the lines
Nobody running for Senate is going to give his goals to be President. He did say he wants to get in, clean up the country, and get out. This would require him being President.
Paul is our only option, almost.
Nobody speaking the same message has the recognition that Paul has. one reason he lost in 2008 was a lot a people agreed with him but had no clue who he was. If we put another person like him that everybody agrees with im afraid they will dismiss that person because that person will have nowhere near the recognition Paul has. Maybe ventura but i dont know, seems like we might get called crazy for supporting a no name again.
Scott Ritter is speaking the same message but strong with
more passion and conviction than Ron Paul could muster.
Remember the debate that Anderson Cooper hosted. Well Ron Paul went to say something and Anderson stopped him. Well Ron Paul should have finished anyway or insited later on the debate that he could finish but he did not. well Scott Ritter would have spoken up. He would not have backed down as Ron Paul did. There were other times like that too.
Ron Paul also did not speak with in a way that rallied the troops.
He did not call on us but sat back and waited for us to act.
But what I am trying to say here is that any movement need a leader that will lead. In my estimation Ron Paul did not understand that concept.

Ron Paul has been getting a lot better at not letting the moderators cut him off, unfortunatly he got cut off a lot during the campaign and yea he did of anderson cooper, but lately he hasnt been allowing them to cut him off.
