Schiff, who has never run for public office before — in fact, hasn't even voted in years — says he'd run as a Republican, albeit one squarely within the GOP's libertarian wing, which is led by renegade Texas congressman Ron Paul.
"I'm not running as an academic exercise," Schiff says. "I'm running to win ... and if I can't run as a Republican, I can't win."

Work? What would I be doing right now, THIS VERY SECOND if Ron Paul had the same attitude about running for President. I know that I would not be here on the Daily Paul reading this "Excellent article" (yea ok) about how Peter Schiff may or may not might or might not but only if and bla bla bla!......................sorry. In fact there would be no DP! Sorry guys and gals but that statement just rubbed me the wrong way. Or maybe I'm just crazy.
If they want MY vote, they need to tell me why they are better than the other guy, not why the other guy is worse than they are.

I won't hold it against him
if he does not run even though I donated. There is much risk- he has to weigh his options.
Definitely a tough choice.

The best part about donating to Schiff, though, is that there is no risk for us. He has promised to give all the donations back if he doesn't run. I give him huge respect for doing that.
Considering the mood of the country ...
I'd say his biggest worry should be computerized voting machines. If they can fix the primary, he doesn't have a chance.
