Aloha, and welcome to the Hawaiian Kingdom Government...
Brief history
Hawai’i was a recognized independent nation prior to January 17, 1893. On that day, the nation and government was illegally overthrown by the United States. Since illegal governments have assumed control over Hawaii under the direct guidance of the United States government. But, on March 13, 1999 the kanaka maoli people (Hawaiians) reinstated a government pro tempore and continue to implement steps in accordance to international law and the reinstated laws of the Hawaiian government to reclaim their sovereign independent status.

Hawaii Almost 32nd State
Of interest to DP ers in relation to Hawaii Statehood. King Kam III in 1840s or 1850s got into serious negotiations with the US for a direct statehood annexation similar to Texas. There were specific clauses like "full sovereignty" in the treaty that was never finished before the King died.
Before the Panama Canal everyone recognized what a prize those islands were. I very well could be speaking German, French, or Russian right now. But I am sure that no matter who the man was that we Hawaiians were going to get the short end of the stick.

Defiant Hawaiian unfurls the flag of freedom
"This is not America," Mr Kanahele said. "That is 3,000 miles away."
He has some grounds for complaint. In 1893, Queen Lydia Liliuokalani was deposed in a coup organised by Stanford [sic] Dole, an American pineapple magnate, and supported by US marines. Five years later the islands were annexed.
On the coup's anniversary in 1993, America formally apologised "for the overthrow of the kingdom of Hawaii … and the deprivation of the rights of native Hawaiians to self-determination".

Hawaii is the 50th state of the USA, right? (Well, actually "no"...) Pinky zooms through 500 years of the history of imperialism in order to explain why the U.S. has worked so hard to obscure the truth about Hawaii.

The Hawaiian Sovereignty Movement: Roles of and Impacts on...
Non-Hawaiians
Since 1993 the Hawaiian movement for sovereignty and self- determination has gained much strength and attention. As non- Hawaiians in Hawai'i comprise approximately 80 percent of the total population, many have become concerned as to where they might fit into the sovereignty picture and how Hawaiian sovereignty will affect them. This thesis examines roles and impacts of sovereignty on non-Hawaiians in four models of Hawaiian self-government. The models have been proposed by the Hawaiian community in an effort to relieve the plight of the Kanaka Maoli people. The work presents the views of fifteen sovereignty leaders interviewed on roles of non-Hawaiians in seven major areas. The effects of the movement on non-Hawaiians, particularly in the area of property, are analyzed. The results indicate there are definitely roles for non-Hawaiians to play, and the progress of the Hawaiian sovereignty movement may likely affect all residents of Hawai'i.

Great link!
Thanks for the link! Living in Hawaii myself (for a whole 3 months now), I have wondered about what's coming... (You really gotta live here to appreciate what COULD happen.
Misleading - Not States Rights Based
This is not a States Rights Soveriegnty Movement but more of a succession movement from the US.
Thier heart is in the right place but they are like a lot of the Obama bots in that it is all emotion and they ignore many of the facts that led to the current situation and what it will take to get our land back.
Any regular to the DP would be amazed at how Hawaii is like a historical crystal ball to the US as a whole. Imigration - Industry - Agriculture - Government - Tyrany - International trade - Unions and even money backing (sugar and gold). It is like Hawaii is 50 years ahead of the rest of the US.
Hawaii politics makes Chicago look like the minor leagues..
No matter how bad you are at home
you still don't like being pushed around by a big huge central government. They will handle their own problems when they get rid of their crazy uncle. It has reached the point, long ago, of deminishing returns to be a part of the United States. It is suppose to be to a state's benefit, not to the benefit of the huge government. Now it is all about the government and what they can take from us and how they can control us. I want out too. I want to see Hawaii be its own country again. I hope they can make the chemtrails stop over their heads.
Good for them!
Go for it!
This is America?
Where are the tanks, tasers, billy clubs/riot gear, tear gas, pepper spray....? How come there's a protest crowd without some kind of SECURITY people? Don't they care about terrorism?
Good! 49 more to go.
Then multiple times ten.
Don't count the eggs before they hatch
They have to get out first. I hope they do it and lead the way. I wanted Texas to be first, but I will be happy with any state.
