Edit: Civil war is coming
I don't know about the rest of you, but this thing is coming to a head. I'm seeing many people wake up to the reality. Just this week I had 2 more co-workers who can't believe what's going on with Obama's agenda.
Glenn Beck's show finally woke up my mother who has been a Democrat for 40 years. She is against both the previous administration and this one with Obama. I'm encouraged here; but I am very concerned for our liberties. Most people I know now want to get guns and stock up Ammo.
All I can say is that if the left chooses to pursue this agenda, it's going to cause a civil war at some point.
Who else here sees any other outcome?
EDIT: It would seem that many here are critical of me even asking this question. I am simply asking what others see. Some have accursed me of militia baiting, some are saying it's a stupid thread. Either way I am curious what you think. I should clarify that when I speak of civil war I speak of the military/police going up against the citizenry. Katrina was a prime example of what can happen. The constitution provides guidance for a well armed militia. Not having arms to defend yourself in a time of crisis is crazy.
I'm just seeing the entire silencing and control of every single aspect of the system from the media, radio and more central government control. The power is in their hands right now to start it. At some point the system falls apart. That's my point and I am simply asking a question. I am a peaceful person by nature and want to see our system changed through the electorate process, and am working towards direction by supporting 2010/2012 liberty candidates. Many of you here judge way too quickly or make assumptions - whew.

I must respectfully disaggree.
Simple history teaches us that bankers are the enemy of liberty and prosperity, governments invent fictitious threats and stage catalyzing events to justify war and police-state measures, and "mainstream" media sources are not to be trusted. Are these the issues he deals with on his show? From my experience the answer is no. Yes he does do some good things like pointing out the global warming hoax and standing up for the second amendment, but overall I think he has discreadited and blured the lines of the genuine freedom movement by bringing in the so called "war on terror" and In my opinion knowingly and willfully lying and misleading in his debunking piece covering domestic detention camps.
Let me be clear the existance of these facilities is a FACT. What is my opinion is that Glenn knows this full well and has of his own volition, chosen to throw mud in the water. Maybe he is a moron, maybe he trusts the fraudulent information popular mechanics gave him, maybe someone is threatening his family, but i dont think that is very likely.

diligent about voting in every election possible since 1940. In 2008, she refused to vote (she's a life long liberal democrat). I'd hate to tell you what that little 91 year old lady would like to have happen to the Dalai Obama. I won't mention it here because there's no need to have her subjected to legal difficulties at her age. :)

My thoughts made clearer... I think this line of rhetoric only reinforces the "crazy militia" stereotype often used in the media to paint anyone with a gun and camos as a threat to civil society. Nonsense, as most gun owners in this country are the most moral, (natural) law-abiding and God fearing people you can find.
Try the following approach: "What can we the people do to prevent a civil war?"
Talk of peace instead. And talk until you are blue in the face. Hope and pray that it spontaneously breaks out, but don't let that stop you from stocking up on the essentials.

IMO "Civil war is coming" = "We're all doomed", it's implied.
More than once I wrote in this thread to prepare, to counter the gloom & doom of this thread.
My point being, and rather missed I might say, instead of resigning oneself's fate to bearing witness to any kind of war, find a way to avoid war altogether, like ending the Fed, for starters.
Of course, everyone needs to prepare themselves. I certainly have to some degree, but I'm also not raising the paranoia factor with talk of civil war amongst anyone, which I believe this thread is doing.

How does being armed, being prepared to defend yourself and your family cause war? There isn't going to be a war unless Washington D.C. goes crazy and starts attacking citizens, If anything being armed is a deterrent to any war.

that the people must stay armed and ready. Not start civil war, but be ready to defend to keep the govt. from doing their dirty tricks. If citizens are allowed to have tazers, I am beginning to think it is time they started open carrying those too!!!!!

for anyone to start getting physical. WHO are you going to fight? The government is only a small part of the problem. The military is who we would be fighting--that is pointless. The problem is the elites. How are you going to fight them? Not physically. No way. The only ones who can fight the real problem is the military in total at one time, suddenly. There is absolutely no point in thinking about a civil war. Exactly at whom would we fire??
