Do these quotes from Journals of the Continental Congress and Jefferson's papers have any relavence today?
“If money is wanted by Rulers who have in any manner oppressed the People, they may retain it until their grievances are redressed, and thus peaceably procure relief, without trusting to despised petitions or disturbing the public tranquility” and “how efficacious its [the privilege of giving or withholding our money] intercession for redress of grievances and establishment of rights, and how improvident would be the surrender of so powerful a mediator.” (Journals of the Continental Congress, 1:105-113 and Jefferson’s papers 1:225).
If the above statements have any teeth in today’s mouth, what is the best recourse for a business owner or an employee to do? 1. Find a constitutional lawyer and file restraining orders against all government (local, state, federal) withholdings from your wages and your income from whatever source derived, until the grievances are redressed. 2. Do everything in #1 except make it a class action law suit. 3. Using #1 or #2 get the backing of all pro-constitution congressmen who answered the grievance questions and are pushing congress to formulate a redress covering all issues. 4. Close your business or quit your job and live off the land. 5. Veg out on dp. 6. Veg out on meetyourmeat. 7. Other.

Yes, Continental Congress 2009 is a most significant event in
the freedom movement. It astounds me as to why this gets so little publicity and support from the liberty camps especially here at dp!?!?!?!?

Thomas Jefferson was truly brilliant.......
a true student of history. He appears to have forseen everything we are now witnessing. A testament to the fact that history surely repeats itself. One of the five ( some would say three ) greatest Presidents in history.
If you agree that these statements are still relevant....
what is our best path forward? TJ has passed the torch. It is up to each of us to carry it high no matter how rough the terrain.
