This shouldn't be it's own thread.

The problem with Alex Jones is he doesn't have or want any credibility.
He was responsible for much hysteria around y2k. Even reported ICBMs from Russia were in the air as a result of Y2k, had anyone who took him seriously running for the hills. That's typical of Jones. But he is a disinfo agent and a provocateur.

But Alex Jones is no Patriot. He is frankly not even a conspiracy theorist.
So, it doesn't MATTER what he says one way or anotehr about Ron Paul. The only people who care, are people who don't listen to him.

If you want a real Ron Paul supporter, look at Lew Rockwell.

Yeah, the Y2K

is a huge credibility loser.

The game...

I used to be big into network marketing or multi-level marketing. You know... the "pyramid schemes" that use word-of-mouth marketing... where a few people tell a few people.. and so on. Even though it is a viable way to build a business, and there are many, many multi-Billion dollar companies that have been built this way, many people don't understand it and think that it is a scam. I worked for Excel Communications, Inc., which at the time was the 4th largest long distance company in the U.S. doing over $4 billion annually, and they never spent a dime on traditional advertising.

In building the business with Excel, I learned a lot about human nature. They taught us that in building our business...

#1 Don't bad-mouth the competition. - It only makes you look bad. To go around screaming, "but they are in the CFR!" about another person's choice for president doesn't help your cause. It just pisses them off.

#2 Don't call it a "pyramid scheme". - Yelling "conspiracy" all the time puts you into a category of being a "kook". That transfers over to the campaign and ends up hurting it more than helping it. While most of Americans believe further investigation into 911 is warranted, most of them DO NOT believe the WTC was brought down by explosives. Saying that only turns them off to the message.

#3 Just because most people should see the light... doesn't mean they will. - The Excel business made sense to me... you switch your long distance to Excel and get paid for using the phone. Get others to do the same... and so on. This allows you to build a large business of people getting paid to do what they already do... talk on the phone. Simple and lucrative and it makes sense... BUT... so many people have lost money in "airplane schemes", ponzi schemes, and even legitimate networking companies... that you have to be gentle and not try and push people in. Campaigning works the same way.

#4 No hype! - No matter how much you believe, you shouldn't jump up and down and scream and yell and get all bent out of shape. Many people made millions in Excel... but we were taught NOT to talk about that. That was unrealistic for most people. Just like the government planting bombs in the WTC without getting caught is unrealistic for most people. Over-hyping, exaggerating... only makes them turn off to the message.

See... if you want Ron Paul to get elected... you have to play the game. The goal is votes.

The way to win people over to the cause is to use the 3 F's : "Feel, Felt, Found"

Feel - "I know how you feel."
Felt - "I used to feel the same way."
Found - "Until I found out."

For example: "Yeah, John. I know how you feel. I used to feel the same way. I used to think that Ron Paul was just an angry old man. But then I got to reading some of his speeches, and I found out that there's a lot more corruption and misuse in our government than I ever realized."

Another example: "Yeah, I heard about those racist newsletters too. I wonder about that myself. Then I looked on Ron Paul's website and read what he says about those newsletters, and I realized that he didn't say those awful things. Someone else did, and his name was also on the newsletters. That was a long time ago too. He has since disassociated himself from those people. I found out that he is a big advocate for individual rights, etc., etc...."

See...this type of conversation takes away the "you're wrong and I'm right" feeling that so many conspiracy theorists come across with. Look at the posts on this very thread. Now, I realize, the original poster started it, by calling people "idiots", but stooping to their level doesn't help matters. I know how the poster feels. The conspiracy theorists have hurt our campaign because they act like they can't believe that anyone could be duped by the situation. But most of America is duped and you have to realize that. Using the 3 F's is a great way to educate people and ACTUALLY GET THEM TO LISTEN.

My 2 cents.

This should be it's own thread

and it should be on the front page. The grassroots needs to read this. Most of us including myself are so passionate and have so much to say to those that haven't taken the "red pill" that it's difficult to have a conversation with someone who is not open to new ideas. I personally have found myself becoming very confrontational with those who approach me in attack mode. It was instinctive. This is a very positive post.

What...

should I title it... so it gets more attention?

F this, F that, F everything...

just a thought, for your title. I agree though that it should be a forum topic on its own. Very good info.

-Phil Hemingway III

I reposted it to my meetup

I reposted it to my meetup group forum (credit to you of course) as "great tips for talking to confrontational people", but that's not very catchy.

maybe "Reaching the other 96%?" or "4% of us 'Get It', how to talk to the others:"?

No Judas

I for one, will not sell out the patriot movement in this country to save Ron Paul from smears. Take for example, Naomi Wolf. I bought her book. Alex Jones interviewed her recently. Everyone plays a part in this team effort to elect Ron Paul.

Naomi Wolf doesn't make sense to me

She has clearly educated herself on the issues, but somehow comes off as a hypocrite, believing that Hillary Clinton ISN'T going to continue the current policies and is going to reverse the path we are on.

"People should not be afraid of their governments; governments should be afraid of their people." - V for Vendetta

I agree...

Naomi is doing good work, but she holds the intellectual status quo position of government socialism. I'd say that she needs to be properly introduced to libertarian philosophy.

"Conspiracy Theorists" polling better than Giuliani an Ron Paul

We all need to get off the conspiracy theory bashing.

According to recent polls, 42.5% of Americans believe 9/11 was a conspiracy, which is much better than either Rudy Giuliani or Ron Paul are polling.

56.3% think Bush exploited the 9/11 attacks for his own gain, which is Ron Paul's position.

Complete poll results:

Press TV/Zogby International Poll Results
http://www.zogby.com/NEWS/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1358

Here is another recent poll with similar results:

Zogby Poll: 51% of Americans Want Congress to Probe Bush/Cheney Regarding 9/11 Attacks; Over 30% Seek Immediate Impeachment

67% also fault 9/11 Commission for not investigating anomalous collapse of World Trade Center 7

http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1354

The reality of the situation is that Watergate was a conspiracy, Iran Contra was a conspiracy and the assassinatuion of Julius Caesar was a conspiracy. The government's version of 9/11 is a vast global conspiracy of evil terrorists all over the world who hate our freedoms.

People who read the Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons believe in conspiracies. Most voters believe in conspiracies. There is only a very tiny but vocal minority of people that do not believe in conspiracies.

Alex Jones stands with the majority of Americans.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for James Madison.

You want proof of conspiracies?????

get a copy of "Tragedy and Hope" by Carroll Quigley. He was a history professor at George Town University. He was also the tutor for Bill Clinton and one of the intellectual elite insiders of the world power brokers. They tried to quash his book in the 60's when it was first published and when you read it, you will see why.

The motivation for making

The motivation for making this thread is suspect to say the least. Just what the MSM is looking for. hmmm

Re: Motivation for this post

Here it is:

The freedom movement is more than one man. I believe in supporting the liberty and freedom movement on multiple fronts. I patronize those who support both Ron Paul and the freedom movement. Do other people share this view?

My financial contributions to the Ron Paul campaign are signficiant. The no. 1 goal is to support Ron Paul. If you think there is more to this post than there is, there is not. I think the debate is pretty good though!

Like I wrote earlier, we have to deal with prejudice

While I have presented my careful analysis of Jones from 6 years of watching: http://rpmgt.org/JonesEndgame.htm which shows him to be opposite to RP in his spirit and methodology, I fail to see why someone should have their motives suspected for drawing attention to positive articles about RP, unless there is something in those articles that are stirring up trouble.

This is why I started this thred on Prejudice this morning:
http://dailypaul.com/node/10488
Please comment there so we can deal with this huge problem.

Looks like this is going to be a rather involved psychological challenge for us all if you can understand what I am getting at.

AJ is the shit....

good man.....not perfect (who is?), but a ballsy patriot indeed.....he really puts himself on the line by calling all these people out all the time....

"Truth is treason in the empire of lies." - Ron Paul

From obscurity to dominance

Jones and Russo are the messengers. They both encouraged Dr. Paul to run when he didn't think there would be enough support. This introduction via internet radio and "conspiracy" documentaries is what sparked this whole revolution of liberty seekers. They deserve much more credit than they have received.

p.s.

who's Pon Paul? lol

RON PAUL

Oops, a typo. on my part. I saw it after I posted it. I started the first letter of the NEXT word. I think it's obvious its a typo.

i thought it was obvious i

i thought it was obvious i was joking!

HA HA

And I keep making those typographical errors. For example, its instead of it's. Thank God, I'm not a priest in the middle ages transcribing the Bible!

bdunn

That's so funny...LOL...fumblefingers.

Alex..

Alex Jones is a great Man. It's time we all acted like adults (we meaning all of those people NOT on our side) and faced what Alex has been saying for years. I have disbelieved him at times, only to spot check on a few points and found them all to be true. That being said, Alex Jones could help Ron Paul, but in a very limited way.

ok...

What's the point of this post?

Re: Why this post?

The freedom movement is more than one man. I believe in supporting the liberty and freedom movement on multiple fronts. I patronize those who support both Ron Paul and the freedom movement. Do other people share this view?

Strategy

I love Alex Jones. He is a patriot, but we are fighting a war of ideas. The MSM will pull out every dirty trick in their book to stop Dr. Paul. Look at what they did to Kucinich with the UFO. They tried to do that to Dr. Paul in the last debate with the NAU question but he was too smart for them. Alex is an asset but is best used in different ways.

Important message, but difficult to accept

Jones speaks difficult truths, which will alienate people unless they're ready to look at them with an open mind. I think Jones serves as a good source of motivation for RP supporters but I wouldn't advocate using him to bring in new voters. The MSM would totally smear the RP movement if we did that.

ya know....... they make

ya know....... they make alex jones out to be a kook..and thats because he exposes the one world government traitors in our own country... they make fun of him in the same way they ridicule Ron Paul.. don't turn your back to Alex Jones.. take some time and do some research.. Alex is right on most everything he talks about.. Just like Aaron Russo in freedom to fascism.. you can't correct the problem if you don't know what the problem is!

"Ineptocracy: a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confisc

I don't want to debate

I don't want to debate whether Jones is right or not, but let me say this. He has a following not doubt, but it is very small. Probably less than 1% of the population. He is frowned upon by many as a kook, now you and I don't have to agree with that, but it is IS a reality. So then you have to ask yourself. Would someone who is considered a kook by a lot of people who are in contorl and power be an asset to Paul's campaign?

Would Ann Coulter be an asset to the campaign? And she absolutely has a following. Would David Duke be an asset and he absolutely has a following?

This is not about who is right or wrong. This is smart campaigning which is a GAME. Now if some people don't agree with that, that's okay, but running for office is a game, especially the Presidency.

You tell me if I am wrong.
