Washington Times: Barney Frank Says Ron Paul Bill Will Pass

House Financial Services Chairman Rep. Barney Frank, Massachusetts Democrat, said he expects former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul's legislation to audit the Fed to pass out of his committee in October as part of a larger regulatory package.

Rep. Paul's, Texas Republican, bill if added to Mr. Frank's other proposed reforms could give a boost to a financial regulation package the Obama Administration wanted to pass last spring. The Fed bill has 282 co-sponsors, including every Republican member of the House and a considerable number of Democrats. The Senate's lead sponsor of the bill is Sen. Bernard Sanders, a Vermont independent and self-described socialist.

Today, the Government Accountability Office has no power to audit the Federal Reserve. Mr. Paul's bill would empower the government watchdog to do so and make their findings available to the public.

Mr. Frank was asked at a town hall meeting when he would put the bill up for a vote in committee and after giving a lengthy explanation of current problems with the Federal Reserve Mr. Frank said he was working with Mr. Paul and that, "This will probably pass in October."

Barney Frank must think we

Barney Frank must think we are stupid. Most of us knew he would pull something to kill this bill. Like attaching to a bill he wanted to get passed.

Well, that's exactly what he's attempting to do. All those who are falling for his tricks need to wake up before getting all excited. You really need to do your homework before immediately taking what's being said at face value.

Ron Paul should have gone the discharge route. Make those who are co sponsoring need to put up or shut up. At least we'd all know who the false and gutless co sponsors are.

Dr. Paul has more than enough co sponsors for a discharge. He only needs 218 to put their signature on a piece of paper. Now how hard would that be, if these co sponsors truly believed in and supported HR1207?

I was at the Rand Paul event yesterday

Rand said that his dad might have to vote AGAINST his own bill cause it's just tacked on to another bill that gives the FED more power.

Oh, the irony.....

Keep up the pressure!

Dear Rep Klein,

Years ago, you took an oath to uphold and faithfully defend the Constitution. Allow me to familiarize you with Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution which says that "Congress is the only body that can "coin money and regulate the value thereof." The US Constitution has never been amended to allow anyone other than Congress to coin and regulate currency.

In light of that information, how it is possible for the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, and the Federal Reserve Bank that it created, to be constitutional? Didn't Congress know this back then? Why is this private banking cartel STILL allowed to reap trillions of dollars in profits without paying taxes. We the People insist on an answer.

Thomas Jefferson said, "If the America people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currencies, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their prosperity until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." Jefferson saw it coming 150 years ago. The question is, "Can you now see what is in store for us if we allow the FED to continue controlling our country?"

As your constituent, I am asking you, again, to represent me and do this by co-sponsoring now HR 1207 to Audit the Federal Reserve. This is a critical step for us to once and for all abolish the FED, as it will never stand up to a full and honest audit. If you do not do this, I will actively support your next political opponent.

Sincerely,

R3VOLution

We need to really really really keep our eye on this, watch the

FED like the sky & sun watch us. They are going to pull our their defenses b/t now & October. I believe our preparation is solely in the # of sponsors we have, but we could also alert people this legislation is pending, a letter to the editor would be good, at least.

For some reason, we're expected to know every law that exists in America & in our state so we don't break it. We're supposed to know this when we're 18. There's no litmus test for them, as in the 10 commandments or rhyme or reason. C.U.R.E.

This will be great, it will be called ~

The "Ron Paul Amnesty, end of internet privacy, socialized medicine, audit the fed bill". Just like many of us said it would. They are not going to put this thing into motion against their masters with any teeth whatsoever. We must concentrate on exposure and voting them out, it is the only way.

When it hits the floor Ron

When it hits the floor Ron will probably (and correctly) have to vote against it due to all the other junk too which they are going to attach it.

When it hits the floor - worst case

Note the comment that 1207 will be "part of a larger regulatory package." This is a worst case scenario. Let Barnnie Frank throw it in with other Obama regulatory proposals and indeed Ron Paul would need to vote against his own proposal. How to stop this scenario?

Contact the FInance Committee

and tell them this bill must stand alone! Can't imagine what heinous bill they would attach to it...maybe even the HealthCare bill? They're plotting something awful, of that we can be sure.
