Grassroots press release for Kentucky Fight, Rand Paul vs. Trey
Josh over at Ron Paul Forums, just finished up this website to promote a September 23rd money bomb for Rand Paul: KentuckyFight.com
On September 23rd, 23 US Senators are holding a $500 per plate fundraiser in Washington DC for Trey Grayson. This deck stacking favoritism in a hotly contested GOP primary is unacceptable!
Join in the fight and help Rand Paul deliver a knock out punch to establishment republican candidate Trey Grayson on the same date!
The majority of these Senators holding the fundraiser are also Republicans who supported the bailout.
So please, pledge if you can and help us promote--we're trying to knock these beltway politicians out with a grassroots effort that they think they can easily ignore and beat down when it is in their interest.
Thanks much for anything you can do to help promote.
Sincerely,
Amy (amy31416 on RPF)

Senate race
There is a Senate seat open in Texas for which there will be a special election in May. Dr. Paul is eligible and would not have to surrender his Congressional seat. The only Democrat to have expressed interest so far is John Sharp, a conservative Democrat, but no Democrat has won a statewide race in Texas since 1992. David Dewhurst will have the support and oil money of the Establishment Republicans and will definitely carry the River Oaks Country Club! Dr. Paul has better name identification and would be favored in the race, a position he has never been in before. This would be the only race on the ballot so the commitment and fervor of the various candidates supporters would be a decisive factor. Ina run-off with Dewhurst, Dr. Paul would pick up most of the Democratic vote.If Dr. Paul does not run there will be, there in his home state, no credible repr esentative f the freedom movment.
No one should ever forget how shabally Beck treated Dr. Paul during the Presidential campaign or the conscienceless shillin he did for his fellow Mormon, Romney. As for Murdock, he was relentless in having Hannity O'Reilly constantly savage Dr. Paul so th

The attack is on Ron Paul
Washington insiders don't want Rand Paul in the Senate. But even more, they don't want Ron Paul getting media attention in 2012. The surest way to shut up Ron Paul in 2012 is to defeat Rand quickly and decisively in 2009.
Our enemies understand this, and they are going to pull all kinds of dirty tricks in the race. Welcome to the front lines, patriots!

For some reason the link in my original post to www.kentuckyfight.com/ does not click through, and I'm unable to edit it. Any suggestions?
An idea
This is an excellent idea and I just LOVE the graphics etc. Very well done, also good that it is organized by the grassroots, not the campaign, so that there is no specific expectation that Rand should state and he can only be surprised.
Now for my idea. 100 USD may be a lot relatively for some, though it is and remain a good idea to state at least 100 USD. Now why not make a separate site for the same day, or a separate note ont he same website for a raising of 23 USD on the 23 rd for each of the 23 senators that will hold the fundrasing for Trey.
This way many more people can feel welcome to contribute and it also has a nice symbolic meaning, e.g. 23 USD per person on the 23rd against each of the 23 senators and for Rand.
Furthermore I think Rand is playing it masterfully, also with his newest PR about pledge not to receive funds from politicians/senators who supported the bailout/TARP1. Hopefully some of the anti-bailout senators - I think about half of the GOP senators or less voted against it - could fund Rand, officially or "secretively", like Jim DeMint' Conservative Congressional Fund. he bucked the trend and supported the more conservative Mario Rubio vs Charlie Crist and hopefully some of his friends and collegues can join. It would also be god if some of the GOP congressmen in KY especially can at least say something good about Rand, which should be no problem. He has rated a few of them with his Kentucky Taxpayer Pledge. Scott Garret also was present at the NY fundraising, I like him too and he is part of the Banking Commission and part of the Liberty Caucus. Perhaps Michele Bachmann can return Dr. Paul's favor by in effect campaigning for her in September in her district for kids, by also campaigning for Rand in KY. She is quite well known, although only a congresswoman since 2007 and has a JD as well. It would really be great of Barry Goldwater Jr and gov. Gary Johnson can also campaign for/with Rand, after they endorse him.
See if you can get Rand on Fred and Jerry Thompson's radio show. Sen Fred was against the bailout and also very against the Fed action subsequently. TN is also close to KY. Of course there should be also many
regional radio shows, where Rand can also buy airtime for ads later. They should do a precise demographic study of KY and how to approach each sort of group/category of people, like older people. Not that older people are the same, also, but they do have common issues and interests.
They should also prepare for family pictures of Rand with his family perhaps and his lovely wife, although she was (initially) not so much in favor of him running for understandable reasons. Last year I read Robert Paul, the youngest brother - I think he is also in Texas, in his dad's CD14 or close to it, also considered politics. He also campaigned a bit. It would be great if he can run for congress, perhaps against an incumbent D where he can possibly win, or against a liberal incumbent GOP, or then later. If Dr. Paul hopefully runs in 2012 and get elected as president, Robert Paul could also take his father's old seat, another possibility.
PS: There is no nepotism with the Paul's. Dr. Paul is not only humble, he has not been elected to a really important political role like chairman of the banking commission etc. as he should have. Neither has he been senator (I wish so he could have won the primary in 1984 and became senator, and as senator he would have had more name recognition in 2007, but never mind, he has no much more name recognition than many senators.
EXCELLENT!
I know some will say this is too soon to have another moneybomb but it's a critical in a tactical sense. The day after the DC dinner, the media will have a count of how much Trey raised ($500 x number of attendees) and if it's less than the amount raised online the same day by Rand we will win the "David vs. Goliath, Establishment vs. Grassroots" storyline.
If Rand outperforms Trey that day it will be a game changer on the ground here in Kentucky. Trust me on this one. Rand already has a lot of Republican support but there are still quite a few who aren't convinced he can deliver. A successful moneybomb on the 23rd tells Kentucky GOP voters that Rand can match Trey $ to $ so who's got the better message? Obviously Rand does and we in the grassroots are getting that word out.
Also, the big regional Tea Party is in Louisville on the 5th, the weekend before the march on Washington on the 12th. Guess who's scheduled to give a speech? Guess who wasn't invited? Rand's got the momentum in this race and now's the time to capitalize!

The list of 23 Senators
Several people have asked who the 23 Senators are, it's on the website, along with their vote on the bank bailout: http://www.kentuckyfight.com/senators.html
I was especially disappointed
to read sen. Tom Coburn is also on the list. He is one of the most conservative and principled, yet voted for the bailout against his better knowledge and is also a medical doctor like Dr. Paul. Also, Dr. Paul's Liberty PAC also contributed 10 000 USD to his senate campaign, I think in 2004. He also last year said that the Iraq war was actually unconstitutional during a townhall meeting.
Well, if Rand can meet with Jim De Mint and a few other bailout no-voters it would be great. DC will have to take Rand the more seriously the more effective he is and more money he raises. I think he also has more media appearances than Trey!
More important is to get the endorsement and support of the KY Right to Life
homeschool as well as NRA and other 2nd Amendment groups, the GAO in any case.
Coburn and the Empire
Coburn voted for the invasion of Iraq, has voted at every turn for its funding, and defended in public forums repeatedly. There is no reason any of us should be making common cause or keeping company with his sort.
No one should ever forget how shabally Beck treated Dr. Paul during the Presidential campaign or the conscienceless shillin he did for his fellow Mormon, Romney. As for Murdock, he was relentless in having Hannity O'Reilly constantly savage Dr. Paul so th
Thanks! I think we should
Thanks! I think we should try to put pressure on the 6 senators who didn't vote for the bailout, not to attend.
Do they really want to jump into this battle?
Careful interpreting a Nay at face value
I've suspected and I know others have that some Senators were allowed to vote Nay if they were up for re-election and had a good track record with the party (i.e., were already easy sell-outs on other things). I certainly didn't suspect many had anything to do with decency or what their constituents wanted.
Defend Liberty!
I totally agree. I don't
I totally agree. I don't believe these senators voted nay because their conscience. I know it's all a big game of politics, but we should try and use anything they do, against them.
Thanks

Money
I am pretty sure that in order to win any political election, you have to have the most money. As sad as that is, it is true. Take Barrack Obama (Please), he led all candidates in money.
Since "Liberty Minded" politicians are considered "Grassroots" level, I think that, "Spreading the Word", especially to people with an over abundance of money, is key. What money Rand Paul has should be spent in the quest for more money. And "WE" at the grassroots level should keep on contributing, and keep on "Spreading the Word."

Money doesnt win elections.
Obama had more money because he had more supporters. Thats normally how it goes. If you ever read freakanomics, the author explains it much better than I can.
You may have a good point as
You may have a good point as far as the general election is concerned, but I disagree with the premise that the contestent with the most money wins in the primaries. A good example is MIt Romney. The man could not buy the election even though he spent millions of his own money. As for the race between Clinton and Obama, if I remember correctly Clinton was leading in money raised for quite some time before Obama's fundraising kicked into high gear. Once the airways are saturated with advertizing the message is what wins over the voters. I agree we need to raise as much money as possible for Rand but once the saturation point is reached money will not be the deciding factor in this race. Rand Paul has the message that will attract the average voter.
SEDITION
george III
The crime of violating the oath or the established form of government is called SEDITION! Call it what it is. Armed resistance is not possible at this point. It would just be like Waco, an excuse to kill the "wackos"
Education about the Law, the Constitutions is the only hope; and electing statesmen like Rand who will honor and respect the oath. "My people will be destroyed for their lack of knowledge"

It's completely possible with orginization and coordination.
It's only a small group that gets slaughtered.

Let's Arrest All Senators That Voted for the Illegal Bailout
It shouldn't take more than a few hundred courageous armed people.
That's what we should be doing. If a Senator violates the law, they should be arrested, charged, and prosecuted.
These are not misdemeanors we are talking about, these are violations of our highest law, and crimes against our nation.

Anyway to get a list of who donates to trey?
It could be good information to know who are our opponents are.
What I have been trying to find out
And I think would be helpful is who are these 23 senators? If one is in my state I would personlly love to confront him or her..
This opens old wounds and it pisses me off.
Ron Paul for President in 2012!
This September 23 money bomb is the next crucial step towards electing Ron Paul President in 2012.
Put me down for $4,000. I'm going to raid my retirement savings. I'll just have to work a few months longer when I'm old.

Make sure only $2300 comes from you ...
The rest will have to come from your wife or children.

(Removed question, as the answer is now provided further above.)
The actual limit is $4,800
Each individual is allowed to donate $4,800. Technically, that's $2,400 for the primary and $2,400 for the general election, but you can donate it all up front.
I've already donated $650, so $4,000 in this money bomb will bring my total to $4,650. That leaves just enough that I can donate $10 in each future money bomb, incrementing the number of donors.
Pledged...
and ready to go!
We should volenteer our time get the repub list and send letters
BIG BOOM! Wow, so thats how we got here.
