Homicide : Yet another fine example of Tazer use by our beloved police state.

I don't know about you Octobox, but this one made me especially proud of our police forces nation wide. Unruly citizens abound. I actually feel the express need to be tazered at this very moment for even bringing this touchy subject up!

I'll let the story tell itself.

cruel and unusual punishment

The use of the Taser qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment even before a person is found guilty. This device is a pain compliance instrument used by police, often when such use is not really needed. Originally, it was supposed to be used as a replacement for deadly force. If used in place of a firearm it was supposed to save lives. Now it is used on the mentally ill, children, senior citizens, or anyone who fails to respond to an officer's command. This was not the original intent, or maybe it was.

Oh I must say

No rebuttal from Octobox on this matter = interesting to me.

Tazed him the first time for 49 seconds??

Turned paramedics away?

What the heck is wrong with these people*?

Thanks, Oruval, for posting this.

*Disclaimer- By "these people", I mean the ones who did this, not cops in general.

49 seconds negates 1 second minus 5 seconds

Which means that 999,999 cops = 1 bad cop divided by 3 unusual cops +500,000 good cops, which means they took a lunch break in between tazes. They'll get some lawsuit money, so what's the big deal?

The NetTazer

In the course of examining this issue I've come up with a new device with wide-ranging applicability - The NetTazer. What I propose is a federally mandated device be affixed to every PC and laptop keyboard which delivers a debilitating jolt to the user whenever a pre-programmed set of keywords are typed into search engines.

Perhaps I should have made my attempt at satire more evident. This was meant to illuninate the slippery slope towards a police state. "Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies."

Moral of the story:

Don't call the cops in the first place.

Tatum has called for a federal investigation after the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that police initially turned paramedics away. Officers later called them back but had not started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, said Matt Zavadsky, associate director for ambulance service provider MedStar.

I'm surprised they simply turned the paramedics away instead of Tazering them as well.

Humm.

I guess it's not that important. Might as well focus on the FED.

Oh, they'll get a lawsuit out of the deal.

That will be his justification, along with his snazzy math of 999,999 cops = 1 bad cop divided by .025 cops that are good = 1 fired cop times 2 cops square rooted of 10 to the 8th power, cubed, or something like that. 8)
