Don't they even check out his website first?

It amazes me how little research they must do. Wolf Blitzer acts like $10 million this quarter is some kind of breaking news. Ron Paul should have told him to pull it up online right now and he'll see exactly how much he has. I assume he has an internet connection on his computer there.

I've seen them have a picture of the ticker a few weeks ago. They make is seem like they think the ticker might not be real or something. It's kind of like when you tell the complete truth to someone and they still think you are hiding something.

McPain Needs His Own Reading List

I think its time Dr. Paul gave Sen. McPain a reading list on history and foriegn relations. I can't beleive how so far out of touch the senater has become. He used to be good to go, but he is now fully assimilated into the NeoCon's evil fold. I just can't believe a man who fought a war and spent so much time in a POW camp can be in favor of such a clearly illegal, immoral, unwise war in Iraq. He needs to drop out of the race now so he can save whats left of his credibility.

Great Interview!

Ron was on point today! Wolf gave him a shot for sure. Why aren't interviews conducted in this manner all the time?

RON PAUL LOOKS FINE!

Maybe he could use some rest, but this was a very good interview. He answers questions more directly than most of the candidates, and does not drone on trying to make himself LOOK GOOD like that self-serving snake Huckabee.

And for 72 years old? He could pass for his late 50s.

Naturally, we welcome any

Naturally, we welcome any Huckabee supporters interested in Ron Paul's positions. Your support would be appreciated and you'd be doing our nation a great service!

Security and Prosperity Partnership!

I'm embarrassed he didn't get that right.

Under the weather

RP looks like he has a cold.

Wink

It's just a little rhetorical tactic to intentionally mispronounce something or get the name slightly wrong.

One of Ron's best interviews!

He knocked it out of the park this time.

Dr. Paul on CNN with wolf-wolf[eddie munster's very own]

Dr. Paul looks very tired to me.. the rings under his eyes obviously tell us so... can only hope the team is making absolute sure he is getting enough rest & sleep when he can & eating a super high octane diet..one can only imagine going through a year or more of a incredibly draining presidential campaign
.. Dr. Paul can not translate a strong leader image that he needs to,to win undecided voters, when he is so tired he can barely keep his eyes open...I'm sorry but believe this to be the most pressing & important campaign issue right now..either he cuts out some his Congressional duties or he will just become to tired IMO ..trying to jungle the campaign trail plus the congressional responsibilities is too much for a 50 year old man let alone a 72 year old..

randy n.

That was my first impression

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw him today. If anyone has read the book Blink, you know that people form opinions about someone in seconds.

I think he needs to make sure he has a good makeup man for these TV appearances.

I know he is in great shape but many times he looks very frail. I think they need to show him running or biking like they used to show Bush doing. I think the only reason they don't bring up age that much yet is because McCain is right there with him.

I could not disagree more...

"I'm sorry but believe this to be the most pressing & important campaign issue right now..either he cuts out some his Congressional duties or he will just become to tired"
No way, this is not the most important issue. It's not even an issue... he is fine, he is more fit than most people his age. IMO

I think he might have a little bit of a cold, sounds like his sinuses a bit. I'm not surprised, I watched a video of him yesterday outside in NH and it looked so cold, I kept thinking to myself... where's his coat!? :) I hope it's not a cold and that if it is he'll recover quick... he's a Doctor after all - so he probably knows how to handle it. :)

THANKS for posting the video's!!!!
I love how strong and assertive he is, he always seems so cool, calm and collected during these interviews - MAN is he smart! GREAT answers.

At the debate

Ron Paul gave the perfect response to McCain's claim that troops support him by informing McCain that the troops, for the second consecutive quarter, according to the Federal Elections Commission, support Ron Paul financially. Ron Paul HAS the majority support from the troops and he needs to pound that home and also make a point to the active troops, who want a career and are looking at 4 years, that they have jobs. Some of these guys, and this includes my family, want a military career, and see cut backs as threats...so Paul needs to find or make molitary jobs for active military while getting US OUT of Iraq, and not spreading the war as the Democrats are proposing. This is not so easy after Clinton closed so many bases.

just because Ron Paul wants

just because Ron Paul wants to "cut" military bases overseas in no way means he will cut Military in numbers or personnel.. actually Ron Paul is the only Candidate that will strengthen and build the Military, and add MORE troops! only difference is they will be based on American soil! Ron Paul beleives in a STRONG defense! And ofcoarse Clinton is Clinton thats why he closed all the home military bases because he did not beleive in a strong Military! the only way you can build the Military is if the the country is Strong Financially which we are not.. closing bases over seas will give us much more money to build.

Lies, more lies

This is blatantly false. Ron Paul doesn't want to close our bases of imperial power all over the world to add more troops to an already bloated military. He has made it very clear he agrees with Major General Smedly Butler's prescient analysis that America only requires " an adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight." He would cut the ground troopers down to a more rational size then, as well as decrease the Air Force. The military will be stronger, not because of more stockpiles of weaponry, more troops, more funding etc..but rather because it will be more streamlined and efficient. And only used in General Butler's words, "There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket. " That is to say, they will be rarely used 'twall, as it should be. The superfluous military personnel who will no longer be needed to maintain our global hegemony will just have to find jobs in the private sector like the rest of us, which shouldn't be too difficult in a laissez-faire economy. The hundreds of billions or even trillion dollars that are saved will instead be spent on his domestic transitional programs and debts so we can convert to a full, libetarian economic regime as soon as possible.

Sorry Granger, Ron Paul will not pander to the military-industrial complex or to any other special interest group. You'll just have to abide by the fundamental, inexorable laws of supply and demand and find another career like anybody else instead of asking for handouts, in this case, by asking Paul to manufacture needless military jobs like a double-dealing New Dealer.

No Empire and Free Markets

Dwayne, your explanation of reducing the military and increasing jobs was great. Simple and complete.

Pandering Paul?

I believe the Military Indistrial Complex is more interested in sales than troop levels. Why do you think Obama is number two in campaign contributions from troops? It's not because he's the same as Ron Paul but a Democrat. It's because Obama will promise military job security, which is one of the few options black Americans have. I don't imagine Paul pandering to anyone, least of all heavily subsidized industrial complexes in the business of selling death and destruction. Nor do I see Paul dumping troops in their Mama's hoods where there are no jobs.

NO Ron

It will be more than 15 million :)

yep try 17 to 18 million and

yep try 17 to 18 million and i hope i'm wrong!

My money and the figures say

My money and the figures say about $16 million. That ain't hay! (this is a good thing)

"The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory is that conspiracy theorists actually believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is chaotic..." —Alan Moore

My count is close to $20

My count is close to $20 mil.
2 months this quarter= $10.3 mil
10.3 minus 4.3 (11/5)= $6 mil divided by 2 months in the qurter = $3 mil per month

$ 3mil times 3 months in the qurter= $9 months base
plus
$4.3 on Nov. 5
plus
Dec. 16 ( estimation based on pledges $6.3 mil)
9+4.3+6.3=$19.6
Make it $20 mil for the final push after Christmas.

I bet he raises $20 million

I bet he raises $20 million. He will have 11 million or more by the 16th. He will raise 6 or 7 million on that day alone. Getting 2 million or more in the last 2 weeks of the quarter should not be a problem. 20 million by the end of the quarter. Bank on it.

My guess - $17 to $18 million

There are only 23,487 people signed up for the tea party right now. New sign ups have been slacking off, I suspect that there will be about 27,000 on the day of the tea party. I also suspect that the total for Ron Paul's campaign will be at about $11 million on the morning of the tea party. The pledges will amount to $2.7 million for the tea party, but if it's like November 5 or 30 the actual donations will be somewhat more than twice the officially pledged amount. So my best guess for the tea party is that it will bring in $5.5 - $6 million, which will bring Paul's campaign up to around $17 million. I suspect that very little additional money will come in between Dec 17 and 31, as people will be busy with Christmas and New Years.

So. I think a total take of $17 million for the quarter is a good estimate, with $18 million my optimistic estimate.

not everyone pledges

i say whatever the pledge number is on the 16th, add about 8-10,000 more and you'll get a better guesstimate.

Re: not everyone pledges

My estimate already took that into account.

It's even better

Although 38,905 people donated on 11/5, only about 18,000 signed up. That means 2.16 people donated for every person who signed up... Applying the same logic to 12/16, if we have 30,000 people signed up (certainly possible), then nearly 65,000 people will donate. The average donation on 11/5 was $112.58, so if 12/16 is similar, we're looking at around $7.3 million on that day alone. Combine that with the roughly $11.2 million he should have by 12/16 and he would have $18.5 million. Then if he can raise $100k per day after (certainly possible again), he'll hit $20 million by 12/31.

The interesting part is that Dr. Paul recently said they're already funded enough to advertise for Super Tuesday 2/5/08, when most states hold their primaries or caucuses. I wonder what their fundraising goal will be for the next quarter!
