I really love it except for the Ron Paul thing...
Received the following note from a pretty blonde tonight, on the personals website-
You know, I have looked at your profile several times. I really love it except for the Ron Paul thing.
I didn't read much further and wrote the following response quickly and off the top of my head. Standing up for TRUTH Activism always counts, even if directed at one single person.
By the way, "the Ron Paul thing" is simply his name listed among another dozen of my interests...
My letter-
Hi XXX,
Just for the record, Ron Paul is an incredibly principled, humble servant and without question the most honest and true "man of the people" in Washington today.
People of greed and wealth have forever sought to disparage him and others of his ilk - and little wonder, as he calls them out to answer for their sins against The People and The Constitution.
Those same people are far more "powerful" though, and they manipulate and shape public opinion on a daily basis via their propaganda served up by a near completely sold out media. The general population eats it up like candy, sadly, as most are more concerned with voting for an American Idol or the big game score than they are for any general election or policy decision.
The supposed left/right lines have been blurred beyond much of any distinction today, in reality and practice, and it's been increasingly so for decades. Bush ran on one platform, and did nothing of the sort once in office. Obama swore there would be no "former lobbists" on his team, yet every single appointment he has made has came from the same old lobby pool. They lie, they cheat, and it really is all about the money power brokers.
You must have some unfounded bias is all I know, and/or base such an opinion on staged/misquoted soundbites or sheer ignorance to this great man. That's not intended as a put down, but anyone who truly knows him and what he has always stood for can ONLY respect him, even if they have certain philosophical differences. That said, everyone *should* be able to find common ground with a champion of freedom, liberty and personal/property rights - if they simply educate themselves to the vital importance of the same.
Me, I greatly admire Dr. Ron Paul and hold him in the very highest esteem along side our founding fathers, and my very own father who is cut from the same cloth.
Dr. Paul is a champion of Liberty and freedom from tyranny for ALL people. He walks a true Christian walk and believes in legitimate Goldwater/Reagan conservative principles and votes accordingly while upholding The Constitution and it's rights and privileges for even the most far left liberal.
I'm far from alone in my praise and admiration, for good reason, and history will shine very favorably on the humble, honest man who fought for the common man against the most vile thugs known.
Rant over.
I wish you well with your upcoming surgery and thank you kindly for the nice words about my profile. That said, I will never waver in my heartfelt and genuine admiration for Ron Paul and can not find common ground with those who miscast him.
God Bless,
XXXX

Are all you guys alike?
Are all you guys alike? Looking at the blondes, whistful that she is ignorant of Ron Paul, but still, I repeat, looking at the blondes...
Smart brunettes just don't rate, do they?
Another brunette for Ron Paul...
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson
Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietam servitutem. ("I prefer the tumult of liberty to the quiet of servitude"). Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 30 January 1787.
How do smart brunettes rate?
They rate quite high in my book, and I absolutely positively adore brunettes for Ron Paul best of all!
She contacted me, you see... the blonde who, in this case, is indeed a bimbo.

Nice
You sold me, but then again, I am a regular at the Dailypaul! Nonetheless, very concise and well worded "rant". Extremely civil.
I get the same treatment
at the post office. I stamp my outgoing mail with 'Ron Paul 2008' and they snicker at me still. Morons.

Few people know about Ron Paul, comparatively.
I went out to dinner with a couple two weeks ago and they had 'heard' of him but didn't know much. This is true for most Americans; we are in the minority - albeit a powerful one.
As a mod, I changed the word 'stupid' to ignorant' in one of the posts below. The woman is not stupid; but she is - along with many others - ignorant of the message of Ron Paul, of freedom, of limited government, of free markets, and so forth.
To be ignorant means you simply do not know. To be stupid is to know, and still make the same mistakes. Our government is, for example, stupid.
Ignorant...
Precisely, and that's the word I used in my letter to her, further noting that it was not intended as a put down for clarity.
People often misinterpret "ignorant" as a slight, when by definition it is not.
I'm ignorant of many things and freely admit it, but the message of Freedom and Liberty isn't one of them.
Just another ignorant American Sheeple...
These people need to be pitied for when the day comes they will not be prepared.
"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul
Pity the fool...
She is a definite sheeple, yet listed "politics" in her list of interests...
Nonetheless, I don't expect to receive any sort of logical counter point response. Without her saying so, I got the general vibe that she's a typical uninformed GOP sheep who falls for their media manipulations hook, line and sinker. She'll write back with something like "he doesn't support our troops overseas!" or some such misguided drivel.
It's her loss.
Not me, but in not knowing and appreciating the truth of Dr. Paul's message.
But, who knows, just maybe she will start to research in order to counter me and instead stumble upon the truth.
That is my wish.
.
I think you should have just said "You love Ron Paul, you just don't know it yet"
Then went on a date and showed her why she loves Ron and hates Barack.
That's a great line!
Can't wait to use it. Hope you don't mind. :)
Excellent
Excellent strategery.

Nice job. Slipped her a verbal red pill :-)
For an informed citizenry, individuals must discard the television set in favor of the acquisition of information via either books and/or the internet. An uneducated populous will remain in ignorance and thus continue to suffer the sharp ax of tyranny.
