Dana Goldstein published a libelous hit piece in The Daily Beast today. Seeing this was the last time I'll ever visit that website.

Little feminist girl w/shotgun

Title banned from a Dana Goldstein endorsed website. Kinda hypocritical imagery considering her bashing of 2nd Amendment supporters

take this as a compliment.

Smears or not, the opposition is afraid of gun toting constitution loving people who are now speaking out.

You will notice that in the article she could only attempt to use the actions of others besides Paul to try and discredit the movement as militia/whacky Tim McVeigh style religious nutjobs.

They are scared and see Paul's ideas gaining momentum; enough momentum for a knockout in 2010 to the house and possibly auditing/ending the fed is a possibility in the future.

They realize if the fed is audited or eventually ended, they will loose their ability to tax the people through inflation. The fed must be audited, then ended. This is the only way to stop the deficit spending and to ever limit the size and scope of government.

I'm so looking forward to Dr. Paul's end the fed book to have more understanding about what the liberty movement needs to do next.

Wonkette inspired garbage

Because, on 1/20/09 everything magically changed.

We are no longer at war on two fronts.

The economy is roaring.

Government has shrunk to the same size as 1999.

Yes, I'll have another Kool-Aid, Obama.

Isn't she just the wittiest creature? I guess she didn't notice that after the first few snarky paragraphs, she basically gave readers a rundown on current pro-liberty events. Not a bad piece of corn amongst the sh!t.

RON PAUL 2012

Sounds like they are petrified.

Things aren't going as smoothly as they had planned. Darn it! Hmm. Did they expect us to just slink away and disappear after the election? Surprise! And gee whiz, our numbers and voices just keep increasing by the minute.

Dr Paul's internet fervor didn't translate into votes, and Obama's did? With a fair and honest election, it would have. But all of the people who supported, donated and voted for RP are still out there, whether their votes were actually counted or not. We're just so "fringy". lol

She can call him, and us, all the names she wants. It won't help. Many people who voted for Obama are now deeply regretting it. And those numbers are growing too. Obamatard Dana needs to deal with it.

Her little hit piece may be insulting, but to me, is inconsequential. :)

With the speed that events

With the speed that events are unfolding, as many have predicted, I suspect there will be many flashpoints emerging across the country. This only brings home the reality that something is very wrong with the establishment and its all-out efforts to deny the populist Ron Paul any political ground or gains. In fact the opposite needs to be true to hold this country together. Goldstein's article reflects a lot of vitriol and fear but offers very little reasoning and productive criticism.

No one believes the lies anymore...

The entire Intelligence Community and various individuals in the Pentagon, the government and international organizations support Ron Paul and our revolution.

It's over for the collectivists.

Acid tongued witch gives me

Acid tongued witch gives me a headache.

What we're doing is working.

What we're doing is working. They're fearful, and feeling the need to strike back.

Agree to an extent

On the one hand she's using the same old establishment tricks of trying to marginalize Paul (and supporters) by characterizing him/them as "fringe." She tosses in the term "Paultards" for good measure. However, I'm very sure if she read her own article back she'd be shocked by aspects of what she wrote. Consider the following quotes:

"Ron Paul was a grassroots sensation and then a media darling."

"Three-quarters of the way through 2009, it is fringy Ron Paul, more so than John McCain or any of his other primary opponents, whose ideology is setting the conservative agenda."

"Ron Paul’s impact is more lasting that many of his critics, on both the right and left, assumed."

The definition of "fringe" has changed and this lady's article sounds like nostalgia for the old days. How can a movement be both "fringe" as well as "setting the conservative agenda"? It can't. There're frayed threads beginning to show from around the edges of the establishment's character assassination of the freedom movement. She's trying to use the same old tricks but is now forced to acknowledge the mainstream impact of liberty. Look at the comments; she's getting ripped to shreds. I say the glass is half full.

She sounds like one of those

She sounds like one of those alien computers that Captain Kirk blows up by getting it to repeat an endless loop of illogical calculations.

I'm sorry to not agree with you

NOT ONCE did Dana mention H.R. 1207, but she mentions "the fed" several times meaning - The GOVERNMENT UNDER OBAMA, it does NOT mean The Federal Reserve bank to Dana.

Dana is painting Ron Paul as ANTI-GOVERNMENT UNDER OBAMA, and she is making the picture very clear to Liberals:

BE WARNED BE VERY AFRAID OF THESE PEOPLE

Dana believes that Obama is "giving back" returning the fruit of their collective labors to THEM and YOU/RP supporters want the money to go to the rich corporations.

She brings up gun incidents because she wants liberals to think those who bring guns are threatening Obama.

I believe, because she is a writer for Slate/WaPo, that this article as a plant, for Slate to "pick up", which is why it's posted here, stimulate REACTION, which they expect violent and hostil replies, where they can pick the most vile and employ them as examples of Ron Paul.

I wonder how much Dana was paid to write this and by who.

Quote from the article:

In part, Paul’s anti-federal ideology has gained traction because conservatives are incensed by President Obama’s ambitious—and expensive—domestic agenda, from health reform to the federal stimulus to bank bailouts.

I think GodWacker made some excellent points on the thread... best post on the thread, and I thank him for sharing this low life hit piece.
