National "Stop Indoctrinating our Children" Day - Sept. 8, 2009

One thing I have observed and want to pass on to young parents: Do not wait too long to make the decision, as by 3rd grade they have been conditioned to think that the teacher is much smarter than Mom and Dad.
By 6th grade they will resist leaving the public school because they want to be with their friends. Don't let them make you feel guilty, do it anyway.

I realize many families need the two incomes and count on the school to cut childcare costs. I would suggest getting together with other families, use a workbook homeschool course, and hire someone to keep records and supervise.

will be bypassed by all media outlets? Why? That is the really freaky thing about it. Is there a way for parents to watch it on line. Is the broadcast somehow something we can't watch? Are all public school required to participate? This is beyond strange. Why not just put it on tv?

Ok I see you can watch on c span ect. I think parents should have the opportunity to view it before the kids see it so they can decide if they want thier child to participate. At the very least.

awake parents could manage. It's as basic as feeding your family healthy food. You cannot trust those in the school system to tell the truth to your kids (most teachers are moral relativists at best, total toadies for the system, and willing jailers of the young.)

but you only need a handful of aware families to begin a local homeschool group. Parents can exchange time with the kids, teaching, going on field trips, giving them space and time to explore their own interests, maybe create a small study area at your place of work. I saw a suggestion below that some churches could donate rooms.

There are many ways to homeschool. It doesn't require someone one-on-one with a kid from 8 to 3. that's boring and inefficient. Children are among the most creative beings on the planet. Just let them get on with the job of growing and learning, get out of their way, give them materials and support and be amazed! they'll be teaching you.

But one caution: you must get a vet homeschooling advisor who knows your state's rules. some are easier than others. Lots of homeschooling publications are available to help you, lots of resources, conventions, great online classes. Let your child free from the system.

I would have been happy with 100 members.

I contacted my local school board and the person I spoke stated that she had been receiving calls all morning in protest of this speech. She said that they were having a meeting today to discuss how the district was going to handle it and they would issue a statement in the next day or so.

I told her that if the schools decided to air the speech I would be removing my children from school that day and she said she had been hearing the same thing from parents all morning long.

I have been hearing similar stories from across the country from parents who called their schools and school boards. I really believe that this is about bringing the fight closer to home and holding our local official accountable. I also hope this opens the eyes of parents and makes them question what else is going on in the schools and what else are their children being conditioned to believe.

to pull your children out of the government schools permanently and homeschool. If you absolutely can NOT do that, then this is the next best thing.
