"No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day."
Anyone else see this today from people on facebook? I'm so tired of being portrayed as a hate monger. Ugh.

my FaCIAbook page has
my FaCIAbook page has this:
>thinks people should take care of themselves, and eat and live healthy to avoid going to the doctor 20 times per year. No cold, No Flu for 6 years...hydrogen peroxide, Gluten Free, NO SODA, no high fructose corn syrup, Fresh Fruits and veggies, and grass fed meat! There is NO such thing as "FREE" healthcare. If the Government was in charge of deserts, there would be a sand shortage, and sand would cost 300$ per bag.
my dialog so far
I had two people post this shite on my facebook. I responded to both with the same first response. One wrote back and here is the exchange:
Them :" No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day."
Me: I agree. That is why we should all contribute as much as possible to help others. If we all really believe the above statement, then our own charitable contributions will make any government intervention or use of force unnecessary. If our voluntary contributions DON'T solve the problem, then that means we don't really believe the above statement.
Using government force can't achieve social change, it can only curtail freedom and inflame hatred.
And never forget - the easiest job in the world is being generous with OTHER people's money.
Them: "Charity is at the whim of the giving individiuals. Institutionalized programs can be counted on for those who need them. Health care for every individual cannot occur depending on just those who have a social conscious."
Me: I am sure you would agree that it would be wrong to force health care workers to work for free. That is simply slavery. It is no different and equally wrong to force other people to work for free by confiscating their wages and giving those wages to the health care workers.
If we can't resolve our problems without threatening each other with violence - which is at the root of every government act - then we just have to live with our problems.
Them: "My wages are confiscated everyday for things I would not support if they were not taken from me. And this does not make me a slave. It makes me a responsible citizen of the USA."
Me:I have a problem with having our property and freedom taken under threat of violence to then have it used to enrich oil companies, drug companies, banks, military industries, unions, and other elite special interests and to finance the slaughter of innocent people - or at least people who are not a threat to us - all over the world.
The rush to "fix" the health care system (which the government broke in the first place) is just a diversion to keep people from focusing on the fact that the current administration is continuing the contemptible policies of the last administration - escalating our aggressive world empire, increasing domestic spying, borrowing money from future generations and giving it to Wall Street and the Banks, and generally running the economy into the ground.
I agree that you are not a slave, but only because you still have a choice to not work. Of course then you starve. Not much of a choice, is it?
That's it so far. Got a dialog going anyway.
final comment
Her final comment was "you make some interesting points".
How about that?
I posted this one
Thinks no one should be forced into poverty/welfare BEFORE they get sick for having to pay for mandatory health insurance. People are uninsured because: 1) lack of money, and/or 2) not wanting it. Mandatory health insurance, even on a sliding scale, hurts the very people (above poverty line) it claims to be helping and violates health freedoms. (If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day.)
and for all who post the "No one should die.." on their page
I post a link to the proposed bill and suggest that they at least skim through page 215, with the following citations:
http://waysandmeans.house.gov/media/pdf/111/AAHCA09001xml.pdf
My summary: The bill puts government in direct oversight of the health insurance industry, creating a public option, payed for by users on a sliding income scale. It mandates having some form of insurance, additionally taxing individuals who don’t have it. Employers receive incentives to provide health coverage for their employees and additional tax burden for not doing so. Government oversight itself places additional burden on employers to keep compliant. Patient data will be gathered and compiled to ascertain needs, efficiency, etc…
Page 167 - Part VIII – Health Care Related Taxes “Supbart A – Tax on Individuals without acceptable Health Care coverage”
“In the case of any individual who does not meet the requirements of subsection (d) at any time during the taxable year, there is hereby imposed a tax equal to 2.5% of the excess of (1) the taxpayer’s modified adjusted gross income for the taxable year, over (2) the amount of gross income specified in section 6012(a)(1) with respect to the taxpayer.
There is however a “Religious Conscience Exemption” clause. (page 170)
Page 183 (c) Employers electing to not provide Health Benefits.- In addition to other taxes, there is hereby imposed on every nonelecting employer an excise tax, with respect to having individuals in his employ, equal to 8* percent of the wages paid by him with respect to employment. (*sliding scale down to 0% for employer annual aggregate wages not exceeding $250,000.

“In the case of a taxpayer other than a corporation, there is hereby imposed (in addition to any other tax imposed by this subtitle) a tax equal to- (1) 1%* of so much of the modified adjusted gross income of the taxpayer as exceeds $350,000… (*sliding scale up to 5.4% for MAGI exceeding $1,000,000.)

In 1875, Karl Marx said "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"
In 2009, Barack Obama (apparently) said "No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick"
10 minutes ago, George W. Bush said "Duhhhh, is Karl Marx related to Harpo and Groucho?"
If you agree with my lame joke, please post this as your status for the rest of the century :-)

I like my socialist-like
I like my socialist-like friends.. atleast they're honest....
*I have ommitted names..
No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day.
ME: If you as an individual want to help other individuals with their healthcare through charity that is very admirable but to believe that the government should use force or create wealth out of thin air to provide for 'free' healthcare is not in line with what a constitutional Republic stands for via our constitution. We've had government involved in... Read More healthcare for some 40 years with HMO's medicare/aide etc.. and people don't seem to like it (what we have) and all their programs are bankrupted aswell but anywhooo. Other than that I agree with you :D
hope i don't come off as too much of an ass :P I just really like politicking..er
FRIEND: I've got more of a socialist view, so I think people's basic needs should be provided for. Whether or not that lines up with our constitution is unimportant to me. If everyone had an equal chance at success and wealth, perhaps I would be more in support of capitalism. But when, just by birth-chance, you can be born into wealth (Paris Hilton, for... Read More example), or by race or class you're almost condemned to doing worse in life, despite your efforts... I don't think capitalism should apply fully.
I've used Badgercare, and I appreciated it. I know a lot of people in poverty who cannot afford insurance appreciate it, too.
ME: I have a lot to say but no will to type right now so at the very least i'll say I respect a person who can share there own views without getting angry at other people's views.. for that I thanks you :)
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME I POSTED ANOTHER COMMENT but i dont just want to recycle my old argument- thats not how i roll. :P
I dunno... once people start admitting they're socialist to me I lose patience as i feel my words r falling on deaf ears (or blind eyes as it may be) I love you people on this board XD

I might say something like this...
The idea that there are people in need is something we agree on. The idea of forcing people to help others in need is where we disagree. You or I have every right to help other people. I even feel obligated to do so. But for me to take that ideal to the level of forcing you to do it is not just unconstitutional, it is inhumane. You are a human being, and you have a conscience, therefore you are the only one who has jurisdiction over your own things.
Your intentions are good, and you have a good heart, maybe you should join or donate to the united way, or any of the dozens of charities that help people with health problems or with their healthcare bills. I prefer to use my money for what I consider to be important issues, assuming I can first pay the bills. We can all be friends and respect each others different priorities without having to steal from each other.
"If everyone had an equal
"If everyone had an equal chance at success and wealth..."
I'd counter this argument by saying something like:
"If our health care resources were infinite, then everyone could have health care. But these resources are not infinite -- these resources have value, and as such, someone has to pay for them. Forcing a person against their will to pay for the health care of another is still unethical (it's theft, even when done by the government). Charity is the most ethical solution."
Hope this helps.
My sister posted this...
.... on her page...(my family thinks I'm coo-coo) I quoted this bad ass response in reply : "no one should die being bombed, shot or tortured by the U.S. government, nor go broke as a result of the government's inflationary monetary and fiscal policy and the extraordinarily inefficient practices and corruption endemic to big government. More government control over medicine will only empower the imperialists in DC. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day"
I thought it was brilliant... thank you to whoever authored it.

I heard this argument several times this week on TV:
"1500 people will die this month because they don't have healthcare." I am so tired of the fears, lies, manipulation, guilt people like this facebook poster are trying to throw on us. Can you imagine being married to people who use these tactics to get what they want? Talk about abuse. I don't like being portrayed as a hate monger either, but I know where my heart is. These people mean nothing to me.
Off the top, my answer to the question posed by the facebook poster would be "how many more will die because care will have to be rationed under this plan?
No one should reach into my pocket when they're broke.
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
And no one should point a gun to my head to pay their
medical bills.
(or be chicken s%&t and ask government to point the gun for them)
Would someone on Facebook pass this on?

It's my ode to those who consider themselves more caring and compassionate than the rest of us. It contains some very poignant and simple questions that puts any call for a government solution to anything in its proper perspective.
And considering the whole "go broke" or "die" references in the Facebook posting, I think it is highly appropriate as it is clearly in the same vein.
I don't know how Facebook works, but if there is some type of bulletin that can be spread in response, using this I think will get the point across.
Thanks in advance.
Would you realy want a
Would you realy want a system working on you that does NOT make a profit ? Man that is a scary thought..Who would give a crap what kind of job they do...OK just pile them over there.
Profit is the reward for a job WELL done.. Competition keeps the profits honest value. Without either you get Canada & Britain..Without personal consumer retribution you have NO competition.

I agree with that ...
I just don't agree with the solution.
In fact, the solution that is offered, I would argue, would doom this stated goal.
It is as simple as that.

Why?
Why are all these people posting this particular statement at the same point in time?
The poster I saw
included the request: "If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day."
Here is what I put on my facebook today
Dexterszyd thinks no one should die being bombed, shot or tortured by the U.S. government, nor go broke as a result of the government's inflationary monetary and fiscal policy and the extraordinarily inefficient practices and corruption endemic to big gove...rnment. Ugh!
One of my friends on facebook posted that message today. He got a couple unsupportive comments, one from me.
My response.. a Friend posted that message...
healthcare is a product which we buy. Healthcare one of the few services we purchase without knowing the price before we do so. If you believe this statement then you must ask yourself this simple question. SHOULD GOODS AND SERVICES BE SUPPLIED WITH FORCE OR BY THE BARREL OF A GUN? Our problem with healthcare lies in the fact that government has been involved in healthcare for some 40 years or more.. what with HMO's and medicare & medicade (all of which are BROKE!) What we need to do is get the government out of healthcare and allow for competition in a free market place. Laser eye surgery is one of the few services not covered by insurance and not subject to government intervention.. as much; and yet the price has steadily been going down over the years. We need the government out of the way of fixing/propping up prices via the federal reserve; an entity that is about as federal as federal express.... and back to what we had prior to government intervention and work from there if need There are still free clinics around the country and charitable hospitals (a famous one in L.A.) and christian/religious groups. Once again, should goods/services be supplied at the barrel of a gun?
What do you guys think? :D

In the end I think it would be a waste of my time. Too many are brainwashed at this point to change them. The Titanic will have to sink for people to realize that it's over.
