I can't believe that Ron Paul supporters would do this.

Turning up with signs is one thing, but to harass!

No way!

They spun it

They may have spun the story. Don't just believe everything you read.

Wow, that was great

I had only read it before. I just watched the video. That piece was more about why Ghoul shouldn't be pres and how much opposition he has. NICE

Priceless!

RP signs on TV while the older lady talks of her trust in Giuliani. Go RP foot soldiers!

Counter Productive

Yelling down another candidate will not gain many supporters for Ron Paul. It should be discouraged by real Ron Paul supporters.

Probably True

Let's face it. It's probably true. Some Ron Paul supporters do get a bit over-enthusiastic and I'm sure they would do something like this. I just don't care.

Awesome

Americans are angry and marching through the streets ,its about time . By the time this is over Giuliani will be a supporter .

Don't buy into this story at

Don't buy into this story at all.

Does anyone really think if this happened the cameras would have plastered this all over the MSM air waves?

More propaganda to make us look like thugs forget about it.

As Heckles go that is about as mild as you can get...

"The story's over here" they chanted.

Please that is barely derogatory. I'm not sure it even rises to the level of heckling.

Heckling would be to ask questions about why the Fire and Police departments did not have the right radio equipment, on September 11?

Remember the bruiser that took away the Ron Paul sign and stood on it now that is heckling with attitude.

Well that my opinion, and yes I know just like A__H___s everybody has one!

I've been to a thompson event and Guiliani was in Mobile,AL

a few months ago. In both cases they had few people coming to see them, Guiliani had no one, other than reporters.

This just demonstrates how little real support these guys have...they are pretending to campaign for the cameras.

This is why the polls are useless as well. Obviously if the media does this bad a job of coverage, you can imagine how bad the polls are!

I took my own poll today, I waved signs for a couple hours near the mall. I would say at least 10% of the cars either waved or honked their horn in support. Being that these are motivated voters I am going to say support for Ron Paul is running at about 20% ot the vote going to the polls.

Hmmm....

The honking-as-they-drive-by poll. Sounds just about as reliable as any.

honking and waving poll is a good one

I've been waving signs on a freeway overpass twice a week for months. Here's my assessment.

  • Freeway traffic is much more responsive than my local (Salem, OR) traffic. The locals seem far behind the curve (although they are warming up too, just not as soon).
  • Those driving by are basically a random population sample. There's no filter at all, other than the ability and desire to travel in a vehicle. That means the people going by are pretty well representative of the population at large, minus the shut-ins, who are a fairly small (though perhaps significant) minority.
  • Of those who pass by our overpass, we've seen an increase in responses over the months. Initially, the freeway traffic response rate was probably about 3% -- which was actually pretty exciting since we were told at that time that our support was 1% or even lower. Today, we see 10%+ when we demonstrate; yesterday's demonstration probably saw close to 15%.
  • That 10-15% is out of *all* people, so stop and do some math: if even half of those people vote for RP in the Republican primary, that means 5-7% of the population (minus the shut-ins) are now looking at RP as their guy. Statistically, roughly 40% of the people going by are probably Republicans. Usually about half of the party votes in a general election (so that's 20% of those going by), and even fewer in a primary (so maybe 10%). If we are seeing 5-7% RP voters going by out of the whole population (minus the shut-ins), that means we're looking at probably a majority of the Republican primary votes already -- and the primary here isn't until May.

  • I think we're looking at a potentially historic landslide.

One further note: today we (3 of us) did a walk for Doc (walking along the street with our RP signs in hand) like we always do twice a week, and in a 2.75-mile lap around streets surrounding our capitol building, we tallied 111 positive responses from the traffic, the most ever for 1 lap. # of negatives: 0. 111 to 0 is a good standing, to my way of reckoning.

Their supporters need to become our supporters

We need to grow our ranks to win.

Most states have closed primaries so if you aren't registered Republican, you can't vote for Ron Paul in the primary.

As supporters of other candidates learn more about Ron Paul they will convert. But this won't happen if we alienate and riddicle someone they currently respect and support.

Remember when we are shouting "Ron Paul" or other things we are not doing this for the other candidates to hear, we are doing it for those that are around.

We should keep this in mind when in the midst of these other politically minded individuals. We want them to gain respect and eventually support Ron Paul.

We won't gain credibility or support by being nasty to others. Since we are seen as representing Ron Paul perhaps we could consider "What would Ron Paul do?"

    I seriously doubt it was

I seriously doubt it was harassment. The media is going to try and make hay out of any little thing.

    When protesters heckle

When protesters heckle Ghouliani, that reflects poorly on Ghouliani.

Nobody heckles Dr. Ron Paul. The man is pure.

Keep heckling Ghouliani. If every news story mentions that Paul supports were there, outnumbered Ghouliani supporters, says the real story is "over here", and heckled the Ghoul, that much the better for Ron Paul.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for James Madison.

    Meet people

This is why it is important to meet people, to go door to door, to give people a real and accurate impression of the typical grass roots Ron Paul supporter. They are some of the nicest people I've ever met.

    How you act influences

How you act influences others - NO CLASS! Antics like this make Dr. Paul look bad... shame on you.

    yeah....

Who knows how bad the situatoin actually was....but still this is no good. We all know that Giuliani is a douche bag, and deserves every bit (and more), but we should try to follow by the example of our beloved leader. I know people, especially the media, are incredibly rude to Dr. Paul (which breaks my heart because he is so humble and compassionate), but hes been dealing with this for a long time, he can handle it just fine.

We should concentrate on our own campaign rather than attempting to sabotage others. People like Giuliani are inevitably going to sabotage their own campaign because they have no real integrity....his campaign will implode (in fact it already is) just like all the other candidates....

Ron Paul will come out on the other side clean as a whistle like always.

    not all that bad

I was expecting a lot worse. If Ron Paul supporters were yelling ''9/11 was an inside job'' or ''when did you know building 7 was going to fall'' I would have been upset.

My message is for all of you who show up when other candidates are in the area, be respectful, hold your sign and don't jear or interupt there speech, just make your signs known..

Examples of this are Fred Thompson at the Florida Gun show and Fred Thompson in at that press rally with George S. was present.

This is only the 2nd time I have heard about RP supporters yelling, the other was on the boat in Michigan a few months ago. That made news too.

WTC 2 is a legitimate issue.

WTC 2 is a legitimate issue. Rudy Giuliani said on national TV to Peter Jenning that he was told the South Tower was going to collapse.

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3309188602343829460...

This is not a conspiracy theory, this is what Giuliani said. What needs to be asked is why Giuliani did not pass this warning onto the firefighters. It also rasies the question as to why the firemen were sent into the towers in the first place. If an engineer told Giuliani the Tower was going to collapse, why did he not tell the firefighters and policemen?

We already know that Giuliani did not supply the firemen with proper working radios, and we also know he downplayed to danger of the toxic WTC dust that is killing people right now.

Giuliani seems callous to human life and it would be a disaster if he were president and had control of our military.

    something to think about

If The Ghoul had supporters that would SHOW UP when he was around... the MSM wouldn't need to focus on Ron Paul supporters..

whats wrong with going to ANOTHER Candidates appearance... especially if you think they are saying WHATEVER they think will get them votes...

Its GOOOOOD to show that the REAL support is with Dr. Paul....

And its been commented on in MSM that The Ghoul doesn't have anyone show up when he campaigns.... and they NOTICED that...

Why does Rudy have so many problems with RP supporters?

He made the paper with the ferry incident.

How come none of the other candidates get hassled. Must admit, the bad guys are scared of Dr. Paul. What are the bad guys up to anyhow?

    Let me guess.....bad stuff?

    Duh.

    Best,

    Unify

The MSM wants people to believe that...

Ron Paul Supporters are something akin to Project Mayhem...the American people know better than that.

    Everything changed for me...

I used to advocate toning things down. And I still advocate being polite. But I no longer believe that we should always remain 100% respectful. That changed during the Fox debate where they actually filled the audience for the sole purpose of booing Dr. Paul.

I will no longer speak out against being vocal or even confrontational. They made it clear that they didn't know how to be respectful.

For the longest time, we have been insulted with I don't how many various accusations, beginning by claiming that we didn't even exist. And I, and many, took this with a grain of salt. But booing and openly insulting Dr. Paul is going too far.

I attended the Values Voters debate in Ft. Lauderdale, and heard a small amount of booing toward Dr. Paul. I, and ALL of the Paul supporters cheered our guy, politely clapped when another candidate made a good point but never booed.

However, somehow WE are called rude and uncouth. I am done playing Mr. Nice Guy. I still advocate being polite, BUT, I can tell you, the next time I have an opportunity to attend a debate or other event, I will NOT let their idiocy go unchecked. I will be one of the loudest ones booing!

The best thing we can do is

The best thing we can do is be better than them. We've already show beyond the shadow of a doubt that Dr. Paul is above the rest of the muck in the race. Let's not relegate ourselves to their tactics. Bad, bad strategy.
