Really outragous
The president is talking to the kids in school about education and the losers of the last election gets to say it is "controversial" no one should even be listening to those people anymore... after 8 years of disaster they are totally discredited.
Ever step the president makes and the GOP Bushies scream bloody murder! and they are still taken serious... totally outragous.
LOL
Other than a little darker skin tone, I have yet to see a difference between Bush and Obama. But yeah keep pushing your partisan BS...
Can you expand on "have to watch everyday at school"
Just from this clip alone, I know I don't want my child exposed to this garbage.
I can...
every morning after the announcements the television magically comes on by itself and begins to play "channel 1"... channel one lasts for like 15 minutes... (12 min for news and 3 for commercials). where I'm from (TN) we began watching it in 7th grade up until you graduate... I never really cared about it (I was usually finishing homework or something...). by 10th/11th grade everyone pretty much agreed that it was "kids stuff" and if we ever did actually watch it - it was only for amusement... now that I think about it the teachers probably would turn it off because we would have so much fun joking on it.
the reporter that was returned from N korea recently, I think her name was laura ling... I knew her from channel one...
anyway... channel one became a joke because it obviously indoctrinated us... you could tell they were trying very hard to be cool or hip or whatever they thought would get us kids to accept them, and as usual they failed and we would spend most of the time making fun of the "anchors"... most kids would just get excited over the deodorant/ soft drink commercials... oh yeah and the army/navy/marines commericals... I remember I would always mock them by headbanging along to the "heavy metal" music in the background...
its news for children... not sure how long its been gong on. i entered 7th grade in 2000... its probably been around since the mid nineties...?
"Six Months That Changed the World"
"The War Prayer - Mark Twain"
The girl in North Korea was
The girl in North Korea was Lisa's sister, I was going to post about this earlier but I decided not to so I know this because I just checked it out. The other 2 anchors I remember are Serena Altschul and Mr. Vanderbilt ex-CIA intern Anderson Cooper.
My experience with Channel 1 is much like yours. In middle school the TV magically came on and nobody paid attention. In High school every single teacher would just turn the TV right back off and start class.
From what I have seen now, I doubt that this is the case anymore. Perhaps still on the High School level, but I highly doubt the Elementary and Middle school kids are being given a break from the propaganda. The even worse news is that the propaganda and the President himself have gotten slicker.
Do the kids even know what the truth is anymore, do they even know how to go about finding it? I think that everybody who is able to homeschool should. The public school system is dragging everybody down in every way imaginable.
ah the memories...
that's something i haven't thought about in a while. I just remember what else I was doing doing channel one... sleeping, how ironic... i'll admit that public schools are somewhat phoney due to the nature of the system; But I think people over-exaggerate the level of indoctrination at public schools.
kids aren't as dumb as most adults think... just look at ron's speech in NOLA yesterday. If you ask me, the worse school got for me, the more frustrated i became with the whole system we are living under... Ron may have inspired me, but I was already suspicious due to my own experience.... sure propoganda has gotten slicker... but we still have the internet, and even if the kids aren't using it for a free college level education (on mises.org, alone) they are only a step or two away from truth. if they can only see or hear it once they will think about it... its like brezysnki (?) said in that video, these days its not worth trying to control by propoganda and misinformation... i dare not repeat the rest of his statement...
