CFR President on the radio

A co-worker brought this to my attention: that the President of the CFR was on NPR having a point-counterpoint discussion of the Afghan war. The co-worker's assessment was that, because the CFR Pres. expressed his desire to abandon the war, the conspiricy theories go out the window.
I say he's wrong.
