This article argues that the fact that oil is denominated in dollars is meaningless and has no effect on demand for US dollars.

I know Ron paul disagrees. I am looking for sources from professional economists on this subject.

Note: I am not asking for your personal opinion, I understand the counter-argument, I am specifically looking for published articles or papers on this subject.

I already tried those

Fortune Favors the Bold

None of those contain links to credible sources that are available online. The petrodollare warfare article links to book numbers.

I'm trying to find a "cite."

try mises

Try mises institute. They understand that the exchange value of the dollar is determined by supply and demand - just like everything else. If the dollar is being used in large quantities for trade today and then isn't tomorrow, demand has been reduced. Its exchange value falls.

But you don't need a physicist to tell you what will happen to a ball you throw up into the air. Why do you need an economist to give "authority" to what is essentially a law of nature? The "appeal to authority" is considered to be a diverting tactic in formal debate, just like straw man, ad homenem, etc.

Relying on professional economists is ultimately going to fail you because the science of economics has been corrupted by government.
