Please call the Attorney "General's office and tell them you WANT to look back. Investigating crimes always means looking back, and the allegations are far too serious to sweep under the rug. "Looking forward" cannot be allowed to stand as an excuse to turn a blind eye.

I've wondered if a president must make pardons public. Do the people have to know? If not, the president could just quietly give out pardons to his underlings like, "get out of jail free cards".

I think that in order to truly look ahead without having to look back, one has to make sure loose ends are taken care of. The criminals all need to be brought to justice and this is at least a place to start trying to do that.

More than frustrating
Shine, a bit frightening, actually. Granted that there are too many abuses and lines of action to keep track of, do liberty lovers give up because of the powerful connections of the elite criminals?
There are still pockets where the law is upheld. There are a few neutral judges still sitting. But if we think those pockets and those few are too few to matter and thus refuse to act when we can, those will also disappear.
When was the last time we saw Ron Paul give up because the odds of his success were miniscule?

If we could go after all the criminals involved..
- including the present administration, I'd say YES, but this seems to be more of a political witch hunt than any thing else. Don't get me wrong, I think the Bush administration was bad, raising the debt, the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan, and de facto declaring Habeus Corpus null and void through the Patriot Act was criminal enough. All of these, or even one of them, should have been enough for impeachment hearings. We have had, and at present have an administration that is one of the most corrupt, freedom hating administrations since 1913. (Bush and the Patriot Act were just the beginning of the "war on freedom") WAKE UP! Jesse Ventura was right: The two parties are like two members of the WWF. They act like enemies on the mat, but they laugh about it and go out for beer after. Obama may criticize Bush, but it is all show.
