Daily Paul - Keep it on track

0 votes

This is a sad day for the Daily Paul. I do not know what to suggest, but something needs to be done. There is a real problem in Florida, and the one post about it cannot stay on the Active Forum Topics list. Congress critters are back in DC, ready to wreak destruction on the nation's wealth and liberties. Many Liberty candidates need and deserve help. The Fed is back on its heels. One good punch and it's on the canvas. All that is drowned out.

The DP needs a makeover. The signal to noise ratio is down around 2 dB.

There are ups and downs,

but do not lose site of our goals.

I contribute to all that I can, my wife hates it, but she'll get over it.

All we can do is to keep on fighting, be true to ourselves, if we lose there is no dishonor, only sadness.

But I believe that we are gaining ground. I believe that each one of our efforts awakens another soul to the truth promised by our Constitution.

Do not lose heart, do not be afraid to fail.

Ron Paul is my inspiration, because for many decades he has told a tale that few have cared to listen to.

But now, Dr. Paul has an eager audience, take heart, and fight for freedom, because if you betray your beliefs, you will indeed suffer a fate worse than death.

Sounds melodramatic, but I would rather die on my feet, decrying tyranny, than to live 100 years on my knees begging for a handout.

Keep focused.

Like our constitution, if we are vigilant each and every day, then someone inserts garbage into it.

There you go.

It is good and proper to respect the U.S. flag, perpetuated with the blood of American heroes. It is a fatal mistake not to recognize those who wrap themselves in the same flag to cover up their crimes against the American people.

9/11 education to be initiated in schools

NEW YORK (AP) — Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani joined Sept. 11 family members and college professors on Tuesday at a hotel blocks from the World Trade Center site to unveil a plan to teach middle and high school students about the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The 9/11 curriculum, believed to be the first comprehensive educational plan focusing on the attacks, is expected to be tested this year at schools in New York City, California, New Jersey, Alabama, Indiana, Illinois and Kansas.

MORE: What will rise at Ground Zero?

It was developed with the help of educators by the Brick, New Jersey-based Sept. 11 Education Trust, and was based on primary sources, archival footage and more than 70 interviews with witnesses, family members of victims and politicians, including Giuliani and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a New York senator at the time of the attacks.

The curriculum is taught through videos, lessons and interactive exercises, including one that requires students to use Google Earth software to map global terrorist activity.

Now I don't want any 9-11 Truthers trying to rebut the REAL truth from the gubbermint. It's for the children.

Solution to tyranny: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

“Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality”

I agree.

Your first title was correct...

If someone can have a post title illustrating spousal abuse, I believe you have a right to the title you originally chose.

I cringe everytime I see

I cringe everytime I see that one. I hate it.

Drupal is the problem...

Joomla! would have a lot more to offer in terms of structure, control, and signal to noise.

The problem is that the "Active Forum Topics" are prone to trolling, spamming, and in some cases ill-natured arguing and infighting even between real legitimate sometimes.

I never did understand the choice of Drupal for the CMS, but it's not my site, not my choice...

In Joomla! and using a good forum/posting module, the posters, and the post themselves would be given credibility over time by the other members. Here, you can't tell the difference between a long time troll and a long time supporter. Other sites, that is immediately noticeable through reputation systems.

Another note, enforcing real names would keep trolling down to a minimum as people tend to think through there comments more, and generally behave more respectfully if their name is tied to it. And harder to troll that way. If real names were required, as much as I hate being searchable online, I would still stay a member.

Real names, eh?

Would I need a government-issued ID for that? Cuz if so I wont be participating

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

lol...

It's a reasonable requirement. Whether or not it would make sense here, isn't for me to decide.

But back when we were all doing the election thing and kept a foot in other camps to persuade and convince, I had joined a Romney site. I was honest about who I was, and why I was there, they had my real name (required on the board). They appreciated my perspective, never got hateful or angry, and I even swayed a few of them. Mostly because I was respectful while I was there.

I noticed that you could spot the trolls and shills a mile away with that policy.

interesting food for thought

thanks wolfe!

btw, where's archie?

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,

Hellfire!

Damnation! The trolls are screwing everything up!!

Seriously, the best blog sites I have seen are good at showing up the ridiculousness of trolls, and integrating their nonsense into the fabric of the site.

At some sites, the trolls troll through every time, every topic and post their junk, and are tolerated.

If everybody agreed with you, what would you discuss?

Since everybody is looking up histories, look up mine and you'll see my 'no such thing as illegal people' post, which got me slain on here, or my 'foul' language rantings, which almost got me banned from here.

Which is better, folks? Discussion or derision? I know which one teaches people more...

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,
Begging hands and bleeding hearts
Will only cry out for more...'

'Live for yourself, there's no one else more worth living for,

Haaa.. haaa. ha.

Okay.. sure sure.

Jesus people relax*))

even if some troll comes on some thread he/she does not convert anyone....period.

MyOwnBuzz bumped and commented on many of my posts and other DPiers and these I saw as positive contributions.
He is as far as my gut feeling goes - he is not a troll.

Jive Dadson
could you please change the title of your headline?
please...it is seen by many newcomers here and does damage to DailyPaul image.

I suggest another title ~ ***Daily Paul Needs More Activist Threads***

New trolls

It's new trolls. Every derogatory Dr. Paul post or semi-supporting Obomba post has been a user that's 10-42 weeks old or less. Not saying ALL, just most.

You're a liar.

You said that you'd been here for two years, but were banned, and won't give your previous screen name. Why should anyone take anything you say seriously? You have just been proven to be a liar.
