Just over two weeks ago, FBI translator-turned-whistleblower Sibel Edmonds was finally allowed to speak about much of what the Bush Administration spent years trying to keep her from discussing publicly on the record. Twice gagged by the Bush Dept. of Justice’s invocation of the so-called “State Secrets Privilege,” Edmonds has been attempting to tell her story, about the crimes she became aware of while working for the FBI, for years.
Thanks to a subpoena issued by the campaign of Ohio’s 2nd District Democratic U.S. Congressional candidate David Krikorian, her remarkable allegations of blackmail, bribery, espionage, infiltration, and criminal conspiracy by current and former members of the U.S. Congress, high-ranking State and Defense Department officials, and agents of the government of Turkey are seen and heard here, in full, for the first time, in her under-oath deposition. I have been following this story from the beginning, practically the day after Plame was outed.
She is a lefty, but an honest lefty.
There will be more to this story that unfolds in the coming years.
She will out the whores using the evidence and the rule of law that they created.

before we pass judgement. Let's investigate her claims and see what is and is not true. Does she not deserve her day in court? If what she had to say was BS....then why was she gagged?

And former Top Secret clearance holder, I will agree with you that there's no way in hell that a noob immigrant is going to get that type of clearance for extreme high-level translation work. That would probably require a "Yankee White" clearance - which is really, really tough for the average U.S. citizen to obtain.

a translating job with the FBI? As opposed to a naturalized Turkish born citizen...who ummm...speaks Turkish or farsi?

Postulate all you want using unsubstantiated expertise based upon the fact that you...along with thousands upon thousands of others over the years...have received "Top Secret" clearance, but why gag someone who has never been exposed to sensitive information...
Clearances are not awarded based upon birth locations, nor accents (or the absence thereof) they are awarded based upon need and unblemished track records. I promise you that there are many foreign born individuals with much higher than "Top Secret" clearances are walking the halls of government and industry. You argument has straw sticking out of it.

Anyhooo... Gag orders are issued by the hundreds every single day for less than "sensitive" information.
I mentioned my experience to attest to the fact that obtaining a high-level clearance isn't as easy as one may think. I certainly don't need your assurance as to the number of foreigners in the govt/mic with such clearances... I personally know foreign-born people who weren't hired because they couldn't get clearance due to their ties to the Middle East. Regardless, nobody who is going to rat that easy is going to pass a hyper-sensitive clearance exam. And she only had Top Secret to boot, so... And she was just a contractor on top of that, so... And she referred to her and her friend's clearance as "Top Security" at 16:58, and there's no such thing so... And the FBI cannot fire a contractor, so...
To me, it look like a leprechaun to me.

Ummmm. OK. So what criteria is used in deciding which translator is used? It's not like anybody in Washington cares about an American birth certificate as a means of establishing "fealty certification".
Given the shit storm that came down on her from her internal dissemination through proper channels and the resulting gag order, I hardly think your problem with her looks, coupled with fallacious assumptions about the inner workings of the FBI and other intelligence agencies is reason for us to throw her under a bus.
Rather than deploy the all encompassing "do the research" escape hatch, why don't you inform us all as to exactly how the FBI makes its decisions as to who will be the operative translator on clandestine intercepts...a decision that would have to be made prior to knowing what was in those intercepts given that they had to be translated. And then you can spend some more time explaining why she would get a job translating intercepts yet, for some reason, like she's too good looking, then NOT be allowed to do her job translating what she was hired to translate.
